A mysterious boy and his pet tiger appear in the middle of Tokyo, heralding the beginning of a saga. Revealed to be Ryo, he possesses a mystical suit of armor, Wildfire, which he uses to rescue a small child and a woman from an attacking feudal era samurai. Four others appear and they team up to fight off the invading empire of the evil Talpa, discovering more about their powers along the way.
