Showcase Reason: Disturbing while at the same time stylistic and beautiful - I like it. >:] The soft colors on this one contrast perfectly with the red and the fanciful border adds a nice finishing touch to the image, cropping it at the same time as it adds an element of flair.

Showcase Reason: Beautiful, themed coloring, clean, crisp line art, a well-planned and executed background - all great qualities of fan art, and all qualities this image have. I found this to be one of my favorite interpretations of Draco thus far.

Showcase Reason: This is one of the most superb examples of an anime character done in "realism" that I've seen yet. Duo looks FABULOUS in this image - the use of traditional media really benefitted this picture in a good way. The pose and texture of the picture give it a very traditional and original feel.

Showcase Reason: I -LOVE- Marilyn, so this was a great find for me to start with. It's a bonus that the richness of color and the unique twist on a classic image really bring out the fun and lively aspects of this image. The glittery background and makeup on her face are illustrative not only of fun but of the lifestyle she portrayed on the screen and in public at the time.

Showcase Reason: This is an excellent sample of oekaki art. I particularly like how the dark wings were rendered, but the dark colors and lighting over all add to the mood of the image. The artist made excellent use of space on the oekaki window and brought together a beautiful background for the character.

Showcase Reason: It is SO rare to find such high-quality fan art of Albus Dumbledore as a young man that this piece earned a place in my heart even beyond the artistic merit. The juxtaposition of the older, greying Dumbledore with his younger self draws the viewer's attention to the stark contrasts in the same man and the Photoshop rendering makes for a smooth, easy to look at image. Tight cropping and a simplistic background design develop the periphery of this piece nicely.

Showcase Reason: This is one of the finest Sailor Moon fan art images I've seen. Anna has a real talent for Sailor Moon art in general, but the soft colors and texturing on this image really bring out the essence of Princess Serenity. Even though it's a common pose for the princess, this image was worked in such a way that it gave it a beautiful, unique quality.

Showcase Reason: This beautiful example of ink work is also a fabulous fan art of Vegeta. The fluidity in this piece and the wonderful use of solid black on white cause stark contrasts that jump out at the viewer's eye. The lightly done areas of terrain and white areas at the edges of the page create a balanced cropping and enhance the the power of this piece.

Showcase Reason: That one's my pick of the week. I love the use of color and shading. It's simple, yet very dramatic. The text (and color scheme) balances the image well, yet the text doesn't take away or distract from the image.

Showcase Reason: While as a person I am no fan of Harry Potter, as an artist I can't pass up a great piece of art and this here is a GREAT piece of art. The mischieviousness was perfectly captured in Draco's eyes and that smile is nearly perfect in its execution. The shading is spectacular as well. An A+ in my book.
