“Sorry,” Rei said quietly, “I don't know what came over me.”

Kai sat back on the bed and said, “Its okay.”

Kai looked at his watch and said, “You can leave my room now. Its night.”

Rei nodded and they left Kai's room.

“Glad to see you,” Tyson said when he saw Kai.

Kai merely nodded and sat on a hard chair. Rei sat next to Max on the floor.

“We were going to tell you something,” Rei suddenly spoke up, “Something we didn't tell you before.”

Rei went on, telling the others what he had told Kai.

“So we have to stop this in three weeks?” Kenny asked.

Max nodded.

“It is. We have to stop it.”

The room was quiet and then Kai said, “I'll be back.”

He left the room confused.

“Where did he go?” Rei asked quietly.

“to kill a vampire,” Tyson said, “He'll be back later.”

“Can I go after him?” Rei asked.

Tyson shrugged.

Kai was walking around the “bad” part of town. It was where he met most vampires.

Kai looked around and saw a cat sitting in the middle of the road.

“Stupid cat,” Kai muttered, “Get out of my way.”

Kai continued walking and saw a light on.

Strange, Kai thought, Who is over there?

He walked over to the window and peered inside.

It seemed to be a vampire coven of sorts.

Kai watched as they pulled some type of machine and started working on it.

What on earth? Kai wondered, What's this?

Kai watched for a while until he felt a hand on his arm. Kai turned and saw Rei. Rei had followed him! If a vampire's hearing weren't so good, Kai would have asked Rei why he was here.

Instead, Kai turned back to the coven.

The vampires decided that they were going to go feed.

“Kai,” Rei hissed, “We need to get out of here.”

Kai nodded and they ran off.

“So that's the project,” Kai said when he and Rei were walking down the alley.

“I guess so,” Rei mused, “And it blocks the sunlight from the city. I wonder how it works.”

`You and me both,” Kai muttered, “You and me both.”

“Where did they go?” Tyson asked Max, “Did Rei tell you anything?”

“No.”

Tyson nodded and then replied, “Well, Kai does this a lot. I've learned not to worry.”

Max nodded and said, “And Rei can take care of his self. So I'm not worried.”

Tyson smiled and thought, What's his problem?

“Hey Kai?”

Kai turned to see what Rei wanted.

“Yeah?”

“If you don't want to head back to your house, I know this joint we could go to.”

Kai stopped in his tracks and said, “You can't be serious.”

“I am,” Rei replied smiling, “I know the guy who works there and he's crazy.”(AN: What does being crazy have to do with it?)

Rei chuckled at his memories and said, “So, you wanna go?”

“Sure,” Kai said, “This friend of yours might know how to stop those freaks.”

Rei nodded, knowing that this was not the reason he asked.

“So,” Kai remarked, “This is The Inn.”

Rei nodded.

“I know, bad name, interesting place.”

Kai smirked. Rei was right, this place was interesting. But why did Rei ask him to come here?

With a sigh, Kai turned and saw a green guy looking at him.

“Hello. I'm Bolio.”

Bolio had told the duo what he know, which wasn't a lot. He then excused himself and left Rei and Kai alone.

Rei was being quiet and it made Kai nervous.

“Well,” Kai demanded, “Why are you so quiet?”

“Um…” Rei stuttered, “I have to tell you something.”

Kai titled his head to the side.

“Yeah?”

“Well,” Rei stammered, “I-I-I think I feel something for you.”

“Rei,” Kai said softly, “I don't understand what you're saying.”

Rei sat closer to Kai and leaned forward.

“”Then let me show you.”

Rei put a palm on Kai's cheek and pulled him close. The real shocker to Kai is that Rei kissed him! With tongue and all!

“Kai,” Rei said breaking away, “I think I love you.”
