Orange Country Suite
*Lonna*
My training began with a simple question. My Kenisuke and I were lying in the open space on the campus at night. It was serene for once between us. But I knew better. Kenisuke was very unpredictable.
“Tell me Lonna,” he began. I turned to him in curiosity. “Hm?” I asked. “Did you have any childhood dreams?” he asked innocently. I thought about that for a moment. “Well,” I began. I hesitated. “No, no.” I started again. “It's too silly.” My lovely vampire lifted his head in interest. “Oh come now,” he argued. “No dream is too silly!” I was still reluctant to do so. I sort of bit my lip. “Promise you won't laugh?” I asked. Kenisuke smiled seductively. “You have my whole word.” he replied. I swallowed hard and rolled over onto my stomach.
“I always wanted to run track.” I replied. I waited for a reply. My lovely vampire grinned and rolled over on his stomach. I grew worried. Uh-oh! He's going to laugh at me! Oh! Now I wish I hadn't told him!
Instead, he asked, “So why aren't you?” I lied their confused. “What do you mean?” I asked. “Why aren't you running track now?” he asked. I drew in another breath. “I'm not that great.” I replied bashfully. “How so?” Kenisuke asked.
I paused and thought about that for a moment. “Don't know.” I replied. My lovely vampire crawled close to me. His face was close to mine. Oh my! His eyes are a lovely brown. My cheeks burned hot. My heart raced fast. “Take a chance.” Kenisuke whispered. His words hypnotized me deeply. I could barely speak. All I could do was nod. Kenisuke grinned. “Don't blow it this time, K?” he asked. I nodded again. My lovely vampire grinned. “Good.” he said. Then we lied back down on the cool summer grass.
I took Kenisuke's advice as serious as a heart attack. I was on a mission to join the track team. I had a new ambition to run again. Look out you jock brats! You have a new star on your asses!
I found the sign-up sheet for the track team and gladly signed up. I felt great for doing so. Finally, something I want to do! This'll be a great year!
