A note from the author: Due to recent happenings at LiveJournal, I have been thinking about taking the fic down until I've had it thoroughly edited to my absolute satisfaction. However, I've decided to leave this version of the first chapter up until I post the new one, because taking it down would definitely make it seem like I'm running away, which I am not.
