MAGIC KNIGHTS’ ADVENTURES IN THREE KINGDOMS
Crossover Between : Magic Knight Rayearth-Dynasty Warriors NJB : Note that at this point, Sima Yi hasn’t joined Wei. Now some words for my reviewers (Thanks, guys !) SilentNinja : (Short reviews, short reply) Thanks for the review ! This’ll take long so it should keep you entertained. Damien Shepard : Yep, guessed it right, Fuu goes to Shu. But, I tell you. She’s not gonna be paired with the current obvious choices like Zhao Yun (or maybe Ma Chao later). Fuu’s pair would be quite an unusual one. Lust : Well I did gave Hikaru a spell to remove curse (and thus in chapter 5 she prevented Sun Ce’s death). But that was only for one time and she’ll never be able to use it again. Sorry, but please bear with it. Chapter 6 : Struggle between Dragons After a few months staying in Wei, Umi already grew into a capable lady warrior. Trained with warriors like Zhang Liao, Xiahou Dun, Xu Huang and Zhang He and leadership abilities by Cao Pi and Zhen Ji, she gained a lot of abilities. And eventually, her abilities were about to be put in a test… Cao Cao sent Umi to Chang Ban, assisting Zhang Liao in the following battle to pursue Liu Bei. As she rode her horse, she remembered what Cao Cao told her before she went on to Chang Ban. “Remember this, Umi. I don’t care if you despise killing or not, but in times of war like this, you must put aside your emotions and do not hesitate to kill your enemies. Because if you don’t, they will kill you instead. Do you understand ?” As Umi was still remembering Cao Cao’s words, she didn’t realize that there’s one reckless Shu soldier charged alone and leapt to slash Umi with his sword. “KYAA !!” Umi screamed as she swung her sword and slashed the soldier’s torso, killing him. Seeing the sight of blood, she was shocked. ‘No… what have I done !?’ Umi was about to scream in horror, but luckily Zhang Liao warned her in time, “This is not the time to be shocked, Lady Umi !!” Just when Zhang Liao said that, two more soldiers leapt to attack Umi again. Her instincts picked up and she stabbed both of them with her sword, also killing them. Umi was breathing heavily. Zhang Liao felt like she wasn’t going to perform well, so he approached her. “You did well, milady.” He said, but Umi cut him in, “Did well you said ? I… I killed them…” She was about to cry, but Zhang Liao continued, “That was an act of survival. Think of what would happen if you didn’t take those swings ! You could be killed at any moment !” Umi was silent for awhile. She had been with Zhang Liao for the longest of time, and so she grew to trust him. “This is the horror of war. People get killed here and there.” Zhang Liao explained, “If we don’t act, people would suffer more and the horror will continue. So, please, you must brave yourself to get your hands dirty for awhile, until the war and chaos are over !” “I… I guess you’re right.” Umi nodded and said, “I’m sorry about before. I won’t make the same mistake again.” Just then, they came upon a group of peasants. Unlike the soldiers that they fought before, the peasants were unarmed. Zhang Liao sighed and said, “… If we are to continue on this path… we will end up killing these innocent peasants. I don’t like the look of this.” “Why is that ?” Umi asked in a clueless tone, and Zhang Liao answered, “Killing people if they don’t fight back… is very dishonorable.” “I think I saw another path there !” Umi exclaimed, pointing to the right leading to a forest path, “If we take this path, we won’t need to fight those peasants, right ?” “I guess you’re right. All units, head to that path !” Zhang Liao commanded his unit to head to the other path and Umi’s unit followed. As they traveled along, Umi could sense something weird, as she saw several figures of men snooping around. “Zhang Liao, I have a bad feeling about this…” Umi commented, and Zhang Liao said, “There’s no turning back. Otherwise we’d have to fight those peasants !” Umi couldn’t say anything else, and she continued to follow Zhang Liao. But she kept having a bad hunch… and the hunch proved to be true when she heard a voice. “The Time is now.” Umi looked above and saw a certain man carrying a white fan from a small hill above them. He moved his fan forward and continued, “Master Liu Bei… First of all, allow these flames to light your path…” “The road is long… But the destination is certain.” The man finally stopped and when Umi saw the fan, she realized something was really amiss… ‘That white fan !? If not wrong… in the novel… the man that carried that fan is…’ ‘That infamous strategist, Zhuge Liang !!’ Umi finally realized who the man is… the Sleeping Dragon, Zhuge Liang. She then remembered what his debut strategy was… burning Cao Cao’s army in the woods. And then she just realized where she was located. “Zhang Liao ! Turn back !” Umi then warned Zhang Liao, but Zhang Liao’s reply was still similar, “Turn back and face those peasants again !? I’ll never do that !” “No ! It’s not of the peasants ! It’s…” Umi tried to warn him more, but she was too late as she heard a woman’s voice, “FIRE !!” Just then, fire arrows were fired to the frontlines. It quickly burnt the woods and blocked the way for the Wei army. Zhang Liao was shocked and he said, “A fire attack !? No ! All units, fall back !!” Commanding his soldiers, he pulled his unit back along with Umi’s unit as well. But then, when they try to escape, another set of fire arrows were shot on the exit route, burning some soldiers and blocking the exit path, effectively trapping them in flames. Zhang Liao stood back to back with Umi as they witnessed their men burned alive. “This is… just too horrible !” Umi said in fear. Zhang Liao sighed and said, “This wouldn’t have happened if I listened to you. I apologize deeply, Lady Umi…” “Zhang Liao…” Umi was about to say that it wasn’t his fault… but it was hers… ‘If only I didn’t tell him about this path…!’ She let out several small tears from her eyes. As they saw more of their men burned alive, Zhang Liao clenched his fists in anger and said, “Darn it ! At this rate, we will all be wiped out from this world with these flames…” Umi then suddenly remembered Zuo Ci’s words about her magic. ‘Wait… if I use my magic… I could prevent more deaths ! I guess I have to try and believe on that old man…’ “Zhang Liao, stand back.” Umi said with a huge determination. Zhang Liao was quite shocked and asked, “What for ?” “I might have something to turn the tide of battle… and prevent more deaths…” Umi said as her orb appeared on her hand. She raised her hand and shouted, “WATER DRAGON !!!” Out of Umi’s hand, a dragon made out of water appeared, and it shocked Zhang Liao. ‘What is this…!? Magic !? I have never seen one ever since the Yellow Turban Rebellion… but even Zhang Jiao couldn’t pull off this one…! I can feel its power through my veins…!’ Umi then controlled the dragon to move to the sky. Eventually, the sky turned black and it started to rain heavily, turning off the flames and saving the Wei army. Everyone was in awe of Umi and started whispering each other. “What was that…?!” “It’s… it’s magic !” “Is she… a former Yellow Turban !?” “Former Yellow Turban or not, you certainly have a protective, tender soul, Lady Umi.” Zhang Liao exclaimed, “With your magic, you saved our lives. For that, you have our thanks !” “It’s nothing, really !” Umi said with a bit nervous tone, “I… I just wanted to protect the army that welcomed me…” Zhang Liao patted her shoulder and said, “Never mind on how you do it. You saved us, and that’s what matters !” “Turning off Zhuge Liang’s fire attack ? Impressive.” A voice echoed and when Umi looked forward, she saw a small army led by a woman in armor and wielding a scythe-like spear. She continued as she prepared a battle stance, “Care to fight me…?” “Who are you ? Are you… the one who pulled this off ?” Umi asked, and somehow she was feeling a bit angry. The woman nodded and said, “I am Yue Ying, wife of Zhuge Liang. As for your other question, yes I initiated the attack. But I will fulfill my husband’s strategist and bring victory for our lord, Liu Bei !” “… Very well. I’ll fight you !” Umi then prepared her weapon and attacked Yue Ying. Deep inside she was a bit angry that it was Yue Ying who made her witness the horrible sight, but she had to hide it. Because she knew that this is how history flown… though she had to screw it up a bit for her survival. She first tried to slash Yue Ying from above, but it was blocked and Yue Ying retaliated with a horizontal swing. Luckily, she dodged and retaliated with another swing, clashing with Yue Ying’s weapon and they were trapped into a weapon lock. Eventually, the lock ended up with a draw, then Yue Ying threw her spear forward, and let it spin on the air. Umi jumped behind to dodge it, and Yue Ying pulled back her spear. The battle was getting tenser as Umi fared really well with Yue Ying, thanks to her previous trainings. Eventually, in one moment, Umi attacked Yue Ying with a stab, but she swung her spear, and in the same moment, both received the same small wound. “You’re pretty good…” Umi commented, and suddenly a messenger came to Yue Ying and told her something. She nodded and said, “You fought well too… Lady Umi… that was your name, right ?” “… Right. How did you know ?” Umi asked her instead, and Yue Ying chuckled a little and said, “I overheard your conversation with General Zhang Liao. Well, it is time we part away.” “Are you backing down !?” Umi asked once more in annoyance, as she knew her fight wasn’t over. Yue Ying then replied, “My task is done here. With luck, we shall meet again !” With that, Yue Ying fell back. And Zhang Liao approached Umi, “Lady Umi, we got an order to return to Lord Cao Cao’s camp.” “Okay. Let’s go.” Umi answered and got on her horse. Zhang Liao commented as he got on his horse, “By the way, that was an impressive match. Keep it up !” Umi giggled happily and smiled hearing that praise, as she said, “Thanks !” They both made their way to Cao Cao’s camp. Cao Cao then said to Umi, “Umi, you did exceptionally well. I heard from my soldiers that you saved my army from being burned by Zhuge Liang’s fire attack… Most impressive.” “M… my Lord ! I don’t think I deserve such praise !” Umi tried to humble herself, but Cao Cao laughed and said, “We praise on someone depending on his or her achievements. And your achievements are enough for a praise ! Good job !” “So, my lord, about Liu Bei…” Zhang Liao interrupted, and suddenly Cao Cao scowled in disgust and said, “He escaped…” “No matter. With my huge army, I shall pursue him to the territory of Wu where he fled. I heard that he planned to make an alliance with them…” Cao Cao said, “But their armies combined cannot match up with ours ! I’m no Yuan Shao… so I know that they have another strategy up to their sleeve. But we will counter them.” “And I presume that you will participate in my battle against the alliance, Umi ?” Cao Cao then asked, looking at Umi. She was shocked a bit but she bowed and said, “Y… yes ! I’ll do my best not to disappoint you !” “Heh… All right. All units, pull back to the capital !” Cao Cao ordered his army, “We will recover our strength and prepare a massive force to attack the Wu territory !” With that, Cao Cao’s army pulled back from Chang Ban… xxxx

xxxx “All right. Our plan will go like this.” Zhou Yu explained in the main camp, discussing their strategies to battle Huang Zu, “Sun Quan and Taishi Ci will strike from the east. Taishi Ci would halt Lu Gong’s advance and break through Huang Zu’s camp through a northern shortcut. Sun Quan will help strike their main fleet from the eastern path.” “What about me, Zhou Yu ??” Xiao Qiao asked with a great excitement. Zhou Yu nodded and said, “Xiao, you’re staying with me. We will defend the main camp together.” “Aww… that’s no fun !” Xiao Qiao grunted, with annoyance. Zhou Yu patted her head and said, “Don’t get me wrong. This is an important task. If the camp falls, we lose. And so, we have control of our victory in this battle.” “… Okay.” Xiao Qiao nodded, and Zhou Yu continued, “Sun Ce, you and Hikaru will strike their main fleet from the west, along with Ling Cao and Ling Tong. Just like the east squad, Sun Ce, you will separate from the others and join Taishi Ci to attack Huang Zu’s camp in a pincer. Meanwhile, Hikaru, you will play a big part in bringing down their fleet.” “What part ?” Hikaru asked curiously and Zhou Yu explained, “We’ve spotted fire powders in their ships. If we ignite it in flames, they will drown. You will burn them with your magic, and cripple them before the main fleet even gets to move. Don’t worry for failing. Should they reach the main camp, Xiao and I will handle them. And if you don’t want to burn your enemies alive, lure the enemies from the fleet before you burn them.” “… Well I guess that makes sense ! I’ll do it !” Hikaru confirmed with determination. Zhou Yu nodded and said, “Huang Zu’s army is filled with nothing but lowly scums… but there’s one particular enemy that we should be worried about.” “Who’s that ??” Sun Ce said in curiosity, and Zhou Yu said, “An exceptional pirate called Gan Ning. Surely you’ve heard about Gan Ning of The Bells ?” In a sudden, the whole meeting was filled with whispers. However, the whispers were broken as Ling Cao exclaimed, “He’ll be no match against the might of Wu ! I’m sure !” “Yeah ! He’s gonna regret it when he faced me and my father. We’re unstoppable !” Ling Tong added. Zhou Yu shook his head and muttered, “I don’t know… I just had a bad feeling about this…” “This Gan Ning looks interesting, don’t ya think ?” Sun Ce said with high interest, “If we can, we should put our efforts to get him to our side. With him in our army, we’ll get even more powerful !” “… I guess you’re right, Sun Ce. And thus concludes our meeting. Sun Ce, please give the order to deploy.” Zhou Yu said. Sun Ce then stood up and exclaimed, “All right, guys ! Let’s move !!” And the Wu army marched in, as Huang Zu’s army prepared to counter them… Hikaru was marching along with Sun Ce, Ling Cao and Ling Tong. Eventually, after defeating quite some soldiers, they came to the separation point. Sun Ce then faced Hikaru and said, “All right. About time I separate.” “Will you be okay, Sun Ce ?” Hikaru asked, in a bit of worried tone. But Sun Ce laughed and said, “No problem at all ! We can still make it home for dinner ! So just do your task well and I’m sure we’ll be just all right, okay ?” “Okay.” Hikaru nodded. Sun Ce then commanded his unit to strike to the north, as Hikaru, Ling Tong and Ling Cao charged to the east. Eventually, they came upon a defense base. “This might get tough… and we still need to attack their main fleet.” Ling Tong said. Ling Cao then got an idea and said, “Tong, we’re breaking through. Lady Hikaru, please take over this base and join our attack !” “Got it !” Hikaru nodded. Preparing her sword, she charged to the defense base, and stalled the guards, giving Ling Tong and his father time to break through. After a while fighting, she eventually defeated the guard captain and thus occupied the base. “All right ! The base is mine !” Hikaru exclaimed happily. But suddenly, when she heard jingling bells, she got a weird feeling… Not to mention that shortly afterwards, she heard a shout, “Look out, wimps ! Here comes Gan Ning !!” ‘Gan Ning !? That guy mentioned in the briefing !?’ Hikaru wondered. She then remembered about Zhou Yu calling him an exceptional warrior. She also knew that Ling Cao and Ling Tong were in trouble. ‘They seem to get overconfident that time…’ Hikaru thought, ‘It might end up disastrous for them. I have to go and help !’ Hikaru rushed outside the base, and found Ling Cao and Ling Tong separated, fighting for their lives. She later saw Gan Ning aiming at the crowd with his bow and arrow… and shot the arrow. Upon further inspection, Hikaru realized that the arrow was heading straight to Ling Cao. “LING CAO, WATCH OUT !!!” Hikaru yelled, trying to warn him, but it was too late. The arrow pierced through Ling Cao’s heart and it drained all of his power. He looked above, and saw Gan Ning’s figure as his visions began to blur. Knowing that he underestimated Gan Ning and his life was coming to an end, he cursed, “Agg…! Killed… by lowly pirates…” And after that, he collapsed to the ground and died. Ling Tong realized what happened and as he smashed some pirates away, he came to Ling Cao’s body, and hugged him. As tears began to flow from his eyes, he let out a sorrowful scream, “FATHEEEEERRR !!!” But, Ling Tong wasn’t the only one who felt terrible. Hikaru also realized something as tears also slid from her eyes, ‘If only… if only I was much stronger… I would’ve taken care of those guards faster and helped them… and maybe… maybe Tong won’t have to feel this sorrow…! It was… my fault…’ However, Hikaru didn’t have the time to sulk over. She then saw Ling Tong standing up with an extreme rage and he let out his vengeful challenge, “Gan Ning, I swear your head will be mine !!” With that, Ling Tong charged alone, heading to Gan Ning’s location. And once again, Hikaru became worried, ‘If Gan Ning is as powerful as Yu said… then Tong might be in trouble ! I have to go warn him !’ Hikaru then prepared her sword to break through the enemy lines and warn Ling Tong about Gan Ning… but what would be the outcome of her efforts ? To Be Continued NJB : Well how’s that ? Please review more !!
