Shi (Death)

Wind that carried the screams of all the things in the world blew across the grey granite pavement that she stood on. The wind could chill the soul and would numb the brain. This wind blew around her and turned her hair into diamond-edged whips. The black sky above was churning and foretelling death. She stood there bouncing a basketball while her schoolmates tormented her. They could not feel the wind, for it came only to those who were chosen to do its will. Suddenly she caught the ball, it was so sudden it startled her tormenters. Then, pure black, death energy exploded around her, the wind howled around it with joyful fury. As she raised her head, the curtain of hair as black as death was blown away to reveal eyes the colour of blood. Then she spoke to their corpses, with the voice of something that had never been meant for human ears to hear. Screams of pain and death surrounded a voice that was dead for all eternity. In a low dead whisper she said," Say hello to Death."
