Soi Monologue

Soi sat down in front of the mirror in her room. She gazed upon the image of herself, taking in
the woman that was a Seeryiu seishi. She brought her fingers to her lips, lightly touching them,
and pictures of Nakago flashed through her mind, remembering all the times she had kissed the
soft, sensuous lips of the one she loved. She moved her hands to touch the soft, white skin of her
cheeks. It felt smooth beneath her touch, like an infant's bottom, and she felt the ghost of
Nakago's hand on top of hers, curling around her's lovingly. She felt the temples on the side of
her head, felt them pulse, and felt the life in herself that she so often gave to Nakago. Her fingers
laced through her bangs, feeling the smoothness, the fineness of it. She reached over to the
circled braid in her hair and unclasped it, releasing it, letting her vibrant red hair cascade around
her neck and face, and she saw the beauty that faced her in the mirror. She sifted her fingers
through her hair's softness, and more images of Nakago showed in her mind. She could feel his
fingers touching her hair, grabbing it, pulling on it...She quickly shut those images out of her
mind. With her hands, she pulled her hair back behind her shoulders, ran her fingers over her
neck and let her hands fall lightly to the vanity top. She guided her hand over to the brush and
took it in her grasp. Slowly, carefully, she brushed the locks of her hair out, making it look
glossy, and she began to hum to herself. A light tune, a nice melody. She smiled at the image in
the glass. Her reflection was bright for once, she noticed. She had been through so much in her
life. Nakago was the only one she truly loved, the only one she truly cared for. Ever since she
was a child. When he had saved her.
Soi placed her hair back in its braid on top of her head, and took one last look at the mirror
image. She stood up from the chair, and exited her room.
