I was up at what would have been false dawn on Earth, and quietly snuck out
of the room. Quatre was still asleep on the couch, cuddled up in his blanket
and mine. Wufei had cracked open an eyelid and turned over when he saw it
was me. I picked up the jacket I had used as my cover and hung it up. I
hadn't really needed the heat, I knew my body would keep me warm enough. One
of the benefits of all the work J on me. Its not that he was evil or
anything, he just insisted I push myself as far as I could possibly go, and
then some extra. Ok, he also insisted on using his knowledge to ensure I
could stand up to far more than your average seventeen year old.

Padding into the kitchen, I opened Duo and Julie's small fridge, and found
it scant. Settling on what I could find, I decided omelettes for breakfast,
as there was no milk to make pancakes.

I had just finished setting the coffee on and slicing the peppers and
onions, when Duo walked in, still yawning, and blinked twice, looked at the
coffee pot, and sat down, waiting for it to perk. He still isn't a morning
person, but would wake up in a few minutes to savour his coffee.

As I flipped the last omelette, my vidphone jangled in my wrist, and I
handed the spatula and pan to Duo. Answering it I found it was Lady Une.

"Lady Une," I acknowledged her.

"Yuy, have any of you had contact with Barton in the last thirty hours?"
Straight and direct to the point, she must have been concerned.

"No, we left him asleep in his apartment. I have left a message for him
since, but none of us have heard of him. " I replied.

"Barton missed his afternoon check in yesterday. That is not so unusual,
but he also missed every check in since, and we are almost thirty hours
further. Last night Earth time, we staged a raid based on the information he
had provided us, and we came up blank. He missed this morning checking as
well. He is presumed MIA at this point. I want you, Chang and Winner back
here on the double. " She ordered

Checking my watch, I did the math quickly. L2 time did not run concurrent
to earth time, but if we left now, we could get back to earth for the
thirty-two hour mark.

"Acknowledged. We will be bringing Duo Maxwell back as well. ETA four
hours. Yuy out." I signed off. That would give us time to get to Preventers
when we landed, and time to get Julie her flight."

Taking the pan off Duo, I packed away the omelettes neatly into bags and
ordered him to wake everyone up. We were leaving, now.

It took us scant few moments to get packed, longer for the taxis we had
ordered to arrive even though that was the first thing we had done. We knew
that with five of us, we needed two considering the baggage load and we were
right.

While Duo got Julie situated Quatre made sure everyone had their omelettes
to eat on the ride, and I tried to raise Trowa again while me and Wufei
packed the cars together with the drivers. I failed to reach him.

At the airport Quatre booked a shuttle for Julie, then gave her an envelope
I had seen him stick shut just minutes earlier. I was confused, why would
Annette Winner want a copy of today's newspaper? I had no chance to ask
before a small stewardess came over and helped Julie. Pregnant women,
apparently, get preferential treatment. Then again, so did Duo and Quatre,
though this time from Julie who gave both of them a kiss goodbye. From the
look of it, there was tongue involved in Duo's kiss at least. Luckily
Quatre's kiss was shorter, and on the cheek, otherwise I may have been
responsible for making sure the young woman was on her shuttle, single
handed.

As Julie and most of the bags left, Quatre called Annette and let her know
Julie was coming, and I discreetly listened in. It turned out the envelope
was a ruse to allow him to pay for her flight, there was nothing of value in
there. As an aside I thought that was an excellent way of testing her
ability to follow instructions, but I didn't mention this.

As we sat in a corner of the departure lounge, only a half a dozen other
passengers there, I briefed them on what I knew.

"We have a problem. Trowa is MIA, which is why we had to leave suddenly. He
started this case several weeks ago as an undercover agent after I presented
it to Lady Une. Frank Walden is one of the regional bosses of an
organisation that trades in everything, drugs, guns, people, you name it.
Lady Une probably has more recent information. At some point between when we
left him yesterday morning and his afternoon checking he went missing and
has not been heard from since. Preventers raided the offices but did not
find Trowa, nor the merchandise. "

At this point the airport intercom system dinged and announced our flight.
I could tell none of the others were happy, and I could hear Duo muttering.

"Well that sucks. You finally come and get me, and Trowa goes missing. "

The shuttle we boarded was a small one, maybe fitting thirty-five people in
total. It was divided into rows of one next to the windows, with a row of
two in the middle. First class was sectioned off with a curtain, and there
were five seats in there, and the stewardess with her trolley. We had been
allocated a whole row, but I thought we might be able to move some later on,
as there appeared to still be a fair amount of empty seats. I managed to
conveniently sit next to Quatre in the middle of the row, with Duo and him
chatting across the isle. Wufei and myself traded glances, as they where
discussing Julie and her pregnancy. By unspoken agreement we never discussed
business around civilians.

I was studying the others as we took off, and by the time we were
space-born, I had decided that finding Duo had made Wufei happier, or at
least more relaxed. Duo didn't seem to have noticed. I pricked my ears to
their conversation and heard them discussing his braid.

"Yeah, it meant something to me, it always has, but I just hammed it up.
Same as with the eyes, I mean, Violet? Quatre, do you know how few people
carry that mutation? The thing is, if were to ask you what my two defining
characteristics were, what would you say?"

" A non-stop mouth and a talent for explosives." I heard Chang mutter
softly in our direction. I frowned at him, not the kind of talent we want to
discuss around civvies, but they seem not to have noticed.

"The braid and the eyes. So, change them, and 95 percent of people won't
recognise me. Keeps me safe, and as a result, keeps you safe. If they can't
find me, I can't lead them to you. Easy choice." he shrugged.

The stewardess came around with her trolley, and just as she did, one of
the men in one of the front rows jumped up and grabbed her from behind,
pointing a gun at her.

"Nobody move. This shuttle is now ours! Do as we say and you will not be
hurt!" A woman in the back stood up, also brandishing a gun and spoke " We
will make Earth listen to the plight of L2, and you will be our tools. ".

This was not what we needed.

The curtain was opened, and the two first class passengers were
unceremoniously dumped into two of the open seats in the front of
second-class section by the third hostage taker. A few of passengers on the
shuttle had started crying, mostly the younger children, but most of us were
quiet. Tapping on Quatre's wrist with Morse code, I knew he was following
the plan when he blanched, don't ask me how he did it, I have no clue.

He stood up, and swaying slightly, announced

"I think I'm going to be sick." and held his hand in front of his mouth.
Duo, ever solicitous, stood up before I could.

"I'll help you to the rest room. " glancing at the hostage takers, he
added, "you don't mind, do you?"

The woman looked at them both in disgust, but motioned with her gun 'go'.

Together they made their way to the front of the plane, Quatre cringing
slightly around the gun, until they had only one hostage taker with their
eyes on them. The other two were still facing us.

I knew when they would act as soon as they did, and flew out of my seat,
Chang mere milliseconds behind me. Duo tackled the hostage taker furthest
away but with his back turned, taking him down with a running leap. Wufei
and myself took the other hostage taker who had had time to raise his gun,
but was distracted at Duo's actions, while Quatre took on the hostage taker
facing them.

Within seconds we had them on the floor, and Chang was using zip cords on
the wrists and ankles of ours.

"Clear! " I called.

"Clear! " Duo called, a second later

"Down" Quatre called.

For a moment my heart stopped. Quatre was hurt.

I knew I could trust Chang to watch our prisoner, so I made my way over to
Quatre and his prisoner. He was sitting on the woman's back, her gun pressed
into the small of her back, but he was still pale and his hand seemed to
shake ever so slightly. Thankfully there was no blood on him.

Yanking her hands back, I zip corded them.

"Status?" I asked

"Broken right leg. Probably Tibia and Fibula. " He replied, through
clenched teeth.

That would hurt, indeed. Chang was leading his captive onto one of the back
row seats, having shooed everyone away from the back two rows and put her
down there, then zip corded her to the chair. He proceeded to do the same to
Duo's captive and zip corded him to her and the chair as well.

Duo came our way

"Hey, what's up. " he asked, eyes shining and a manic grin on his face. I
swear he had enjoyed that. Oh, not the fact that we were taken hostage, but
the fact that we resolved it without a single shot fired. How they had got
the guns on board was still beyond me.

"Quatre's leg is broken. Can you take him over to Chang? " I asked. Duo
nodded and started bringing him over when someone started clapping, other
people joining in.

"This isn't over yet folks! " Quatre called out. "We've still got one in
the cockpit to deal with!" Everyone quietened down again.

"Heero, can you help me over to the others, we need to plan how we're going
to take the cockpit back. "

Gently, I lifted him up, trying to put as little as possible pressure on
his leg as I could.

"Marie, bring the liniment and the strop. Five lashes for her, and ten for
you. " He ordered. I could hear her scrambling to comply, but my attention
was on him, not her.

"No." I said, forcefully

"No? You have no say in this, Trowa. Now shut up before I double it!" he
exclaimed as he took the items from her. She stood at the desk and started
hiking up her shift, showing her underwear and her bare back and then leaned
forward. She'd done this before.

"I was the one that bit you, so punish me, not her." I spoke up. Bad idea,
now he'd know that she was a weakness he could use against her, but I had
given my word. And I don't think I could take it if she was punished for my
crime.

He cocked his head thoughtfully, then smiled.

"You want to take her punishment as well?" he asked.

"Yes". Lets not leave room for doubt.

"I can't just do that, what would the other slaves think? But if you were
to make it worth my while maybe I could do it." he suggested.

Of course he could, he was the boss here. He was just toying with me.

"I'll make it worth your while. What do you want?" I asked him. I was going
to regret this.

His eyes turned hard again, as he spoke. "You will take your lashes and her
lashes. This evening when I come back, you will give me the best blowjob
I've ever had. No teeth, no protesting, no turning away. You will swallow
everything I give you. And when you are done, you will thank me for it. And
from now on you will call me Master willingly. "

I felt relief and dread flood me. It could have been far worse, but this
was bad enough.

Eyes downcast, as I could not face him while answering, and my cheeks
crimson I answered.

"Yes Master. "

He leaned over, stroked my head like a dog. "Good boy. Now, lets get you
turned over. "

With no help on my part, he turned me over, and started rubbing liniment
into my back. I could feel my skin heating up, and knew this was going to
hurt. You know how it hurts if you hit wet skin more than if you hit dry
skin? Well, I was pretty certain liniment, which opens up the blood vessels,
would be far worse.

I was right.

I know I screamed after the sixth or seventh strap, and I know Walden
encouraged me to 'let it out'. By the time the leather had stopped falling
on my back, tears of pain were falling rapidly, and it felt like my back was
on fire, or maybe as if the skin had been flayed off. Not that I've had that
happen, but that is what I imagine it would feel like.

I heard Walden leave the room, and I felt Marie gently pull up the sheet
only. She can't have known that that light a pressure extra was more agony,
and I refrained from mentioning it.

She sat down next to the bed, where I could see her.

"Why did you do that?" she asked, wonder in her face and some tears in her
eyes. She had been crying too, I must have sounded dreadful to her.

"Promised you'd be safe," I mumbled, closing my eyes. I just wanted to rest
for a moment.
