10 Seconds to live

 

Dedication: I dedicate this story to a couple bands that I know. The first 3 top bands this story is for are: Worthless Without, Days Ransom, and A Moments Embrace. I used their song titles for my chapter titles. Since I'm friends of them, they let me.

 

Disclaimer: I don't own InuYasha, Rimiko Takasihashi does. I wish I did, but sadly she does. But I'll make my own anime someday that I will own, and Richard Ian Cox will stare in it!

 

Summery: Her twin sister died by her hands, the love of her life was pined to a tree and taken away. She was cursed to live an immortal life. And if she were to touch anyone, they would instantly die! inu/kag (no kinky-ho, no kouga)

 

Chapter one: That's a good question

 

 

What would you do if you had only 10 seconds to live? It's pretty hard to think about it until that moment happens. While, that's what this story is about. A girl cursed by and evil so great, that there is no freedom from it. A priestess cursed with the power to give people 10 seconds to live. If she were to touch you, your life would be over in less than 10 seconds. So you must be wondering how this is a love story.

She ran, as fast as she could, through the thick fog on the beach. She tripped over the ocean branch that was washed up on the beach. The red eyes were getting closer to her. She picked herself up and started running again. A cruel and truly evil laugh cut through the thick air. A tentacle flew through the fog, right to the girl, rapping it self around her small figure.

 

“What's wrong, Scared?” The demon laughed cruelly and tightened his grip on the 17-year-old priestess. She struggled in his grasp to get away, but to no avail. “You can't get away from me, kagome…….”

 

Kagome looked up at him. “You shall not get away with this. I shall purify you, Naraku!” Kagome told him with such venom in her voice. “I shall bring you down before you touch the jewel!” Naraku looked at her angrily. “You shall hand it over, wrench.” She placed her glowing, deadly hand on his tentacle. “Never!” With that, Naraku dropped her, screaming in pain.

 

With that, kagome reached in her folds into the secret pocket and pulled out the Shikon No Tama. She held it and started chanting, “Light brings knowledge, knowledge brings compassion. I am bathed in light. I open my mind and heart to the light. Light brings knowledge, knowledge brings compassion.” The jewel turned from a sakura pink to purified white. “I wish………” She looked up to see Naraku coming straight at her. “I wish that only light can shine through the dark, that love can break any spell, that good will always win against evil.” With that, the jewel flew up to the sky about to purify it's self out of the world.

Naraku got to her right before the jewel was gone and rapped his tentacles around her body. He started glowing a dark blackish-purple and sunk one of his tentacles into her heart as she screamed in agony. Naraku laughed at her and sent his dark miasma into her blood, “I curse you to live forever, never being able to love and who ever you touch will die.” With that, he smirked before being purified by the jewel.

 

Kagome's body dropped to the ground. She looked up with the most broken, hurt look that could have destroyed anyone's soul. “Kagome!” “Sister!” “Sis!” “Sweetie!” Kagome had enough strength to look up and see her two sisters: kikyo and kiade; her brother: Souta; and her mom. Kikyo got to her first, her favourite sibling which happened to be her twin. “Kagome, please don't leave me!” Kagome smiled sadly up at her as she watched the tears leak out of those brown eyes which was the only thing that could tell them apart.

 

“I'm so…..*groan*….sorry…kiky-“ Kikyo held her twin harder. “ No, I can't loose you, not now!” Kagome reached up and touched her sister's cheek for comfort. Next thing kagome knew felt a dark aura tickling her finger tips, and her sister was falling to the ground. “KIKYO!!” Kagome shirked with sudden strength that came from no where. Kikyo looked up at her little twin sister sadly. She had got there just in time to see Naraku curse her before he died. She new the curse that he put on her sister. “Kagome, remember this one thing for me.” Kagome nodded dumbly, not knowing what there was to do, or what happened. “Love can conquer everything. Never turn from the good side, and always let your light shine.” With that, kagome watched her sister slip away from her.

 

 

50 years have passed since my sisters death, and I look like just like I did then. I haven't aged one bit. I learned from mama about the curse that Naraku put on me, that everyone I touch only had 10 seconds to live. I looked over at my little sister Kiade and smiled. She was no longer little or young. What do you except after 50 years? Kiade was now 60 years old. As for Souta, while he was about 64 now. Our mom had long since passed.

 

I looked down at my gloved hands. We had to keep them protected from the people. With them on, no one would get hurt. Besides, she had the village to protect. “I'm going to take a walk near the well, ok sis?” She looked up at me and smiled. “Ye take your quiver and bow with you, then check up on Souta on the way back.” I nodded, just knowing that Souta was off somewhere scaring away his grandson-in-law with none-working sutra's.

 

I walked up to the sacred tree and sat down on the root that sprung from the ground. I couldn't help but look up when I saw something flash. I was one of Kikyo's arrow. It reminded me of that day the half-demon turned against me. I fell in love with him, but Kikyo told me he only was after the jewel. I didn't care. I loved him as a half demon. Kikyo told me to ask him if I could use the jewel on him to turn him human so we could always be together without problems. But something happen, and he turned against me. So Kikyo purified him. Now there sat her arrow, after all this time.

 

I heard a noise and looked up quickly. There sat a blue-jay sitting on the arrow…… No, wait. Not on the arrow, more like beside it…… in thin air! I stood up on the root and reached for the arrow. As soon as I touched it, it glowed pink, then to blue. Then , strangely, I saw an out-line of a body appear out of no-where. I watched in amazement as the body pulsed and appeared full on. I couldn't help but gasp. No, Kikyo purified him. He was gone from this earth, not attached and asleep on this sacred tree!

 

 

A/N: CLIFHANGER!! AH HA HA! I'm evil for my first fanfic yet! Sorry it's so short, but I can only write these during free tome in Communication Tech. Love you all, and review. The next chappie will not be a cliff-hanger and will be longer than 5 pages. I promise.

About the titles: About the title, chapter titles, and the dedication. The title for my story: `10 seconds to live' came across me from a band named `Worthless Without.' They happen to be good friends of mine. '10 Seconds to live' is one of my favourite songs written by them. On Friday, Nov. 17. I went to see their almighty concert. At the concert also stared: A Moments Embrace, Kaos, and Days Ransom. I was more than happy when I came up with an Idea for this story. As for the title from this chapter: `That's a good question' if from a band called `Days Embrace.' Just go to myspace.com to see the band. Their pretty cool people.
