Usual disclaimers apply Characters are not mine

It was time to confess. There was no way around it. Today was the day they had been waiting for a long time. Naraku was dead, now all they had to do was confess. Funny enough, that seemed even harder than defeating the bastard Naraku forever and ever in all his forms and shapes. It seemed almost impossible. Almost.

They were all sitting by the river, enjoying the peace and quiet after watching the sunset. Sango held Kohaku protectively in her arms and smiled happily. He was finally back, with memories and pain and all, but he would make it. He would be alright.

Kohaku understood that he had been controlled by Naraku. What he didn't understand was why his sister was almost choking him to death when she was supposed to just hug him? There was something strange about her, he concluded, and he somehow knew it had to do something with a certain houshi sitting not too far away.

"Ya, Kohaku-kun," Kagome said, "say, would you like to eat something? I am sure you would love to. Come, I'll prepare some ramen."

"Ohh, ramen!" Inuyasha said.

"Kagome-chan," Sango said, "I'll help you."

"Oh, no," Kagome said, "you just relax here! I will go prepare all, don't you worry! Coming Shippou?"

"Oh. . . SURE!" he suddenly understood what it was all about, and got up from his place and walked up the small hill, with Kirara behind him.

"It's gonna be great ramen!" Kagome exclaimed.

But she didn't get too far, once they had started going down the small slope she paused, making Kohaku stop with her.

"What is it, Kagome-neesan?" he asked.

"Shhh," Kagome whispered, "this is where it gets good."

"So we're not eating?" Inuyasha asked, crestfallen.

"Shut up!"

Shippou and Kirara were already in position, quite comfortably laying on the grass, looking down to the couple. Kohaku looked confused, so Kagome passed a hand over his shoulders and motioned him to lay down on his stomach as well.

"Sango-chan and Miroku-sama like each other, you know?" she said. "Now that Naraku is dead and you're back, it's only logical that they get together."

"Aa."

Now Kohaku got interested too.

"What are they saying, Inuyasha?" Shippou asked.

"Nothing yet," he answered, "wonder if they ever will."

Down by the river, Sango and Miroku did not look at each other, which was good for Sango, for she was very blushed. She wondered what Miroku would do if he noticed that. But he wasn't any better. He was having a hard time trying to control himself, to keep his mask on.

"Nice day," he said after a while.

"It's more than nice," she answered, "Kohaku is back, Naraku is dead, what more could you wish for?"

"A bottle of sake and a whole bunch of girls around me," Miroku said with stars in his eyes.

"Baka," Sango said, hitting him in the head with her Hiraikotsu.

"What was that for? I ain't touching anyone!"

"But you were thinking it. . ."

"Ah, maybe. But maybe that's not what I really want."

"Then what do you want?" she asked, curiously.

"I want to see you wet."

"Huh?"

Before she could react, Miroku had picked her up in his arms and thrown her into the river.

"BAKA!" she screamed coming to the surface and hugging herself, shivering. "What was that for?!"

"I just wanted to see your reaction, that's all."

"Houshi-sama. . .!!!!"

"If you don't mind, I have a name," he said, watching her get out of the river, "so I would pretty much appreciate it if you called me by it."

An evil grin sprayed on her lips.

"As you wish, Miroku."

His face went blank, she had actually called him by his name. So enthralled was he, that he didn't notice the moment she actually picked him up and threw him into the river, much like he had done before.

"Aneue is scary," Kohaku whispered.

"Only when it comes to youkai and Miroku-sama," Kagome whispered back.

Miroku looked at Sango, who was sitting by the river bank, shivering, but with a triumphal smile on her lips.

"I guess it was pay-back time," Miroku said.

"Oh, yeah, big time."

"I just hope you don't try pay-back time for all my groping."

"Don't worry, I wouldn't want to grab your butt."

"Why wouldn't you?" he asked, teasing. "I've been told I have a nice one."

"Yeah, right," she retorted, very blushed and looking away.

He came out of the water and sat down beside her, then he looked up, at the stars that were staring to come out.

"How are we going to explain this?" Sango asked after a while.

"Explain what?" he asked, amused.

"We're wet! Kagome-chan will definitely ask!"

"Tell her the truth."

"But. . ."

It seemed so obvious actually. . . Sango felt very stupid at that moment. She was losing her head just because she was alone with Miroku. She should have been with Kohaku at that moment, gaining back all the lost times, taking care of him. She shouldn't be sitting around with a perverted houshi. . . then again, perhaps she should. Ok, she wanted to.

`Alright, alright!' she yelled at herself mentally. `So I do want to be with me, so what?'

"Sango?" Miroku asked. "What's keeping your thoughts away from our conversation?"

She turned red again. She hadn't realized he had been talking to her.

"Ehh. . . nothing, really. . . I'm probably just dazed. . . coz. . . coz we defeated Naraku!"

"Ahh, I see. I was kind of hoping it would be something else."

"I am NOT grabbing your butt!"

Kohaku turned red at that.

"Are they gonna hurry?" Inuyasha asked, impatiently. "I'm hungry already. . ."

"Shut up," Kagome said, "this is getting good."

"Do you really think something's gonna happen?" Shippou asked. "It's not much different from always."

"Of course something has to happen."

Back down, something caught Sango's eyes.

"What is it?" Miroku asked, when she noticed him staring at him.

"You didn't take that thing off?" she asked.

"What thing?"

"The rosary and the glove."

Suddenly it hit Miroku. He knew he was forgetting something. . .

"Hai, I forgot. . ."

"Baka."

He was about to remove the rosary, when Sango's hands stopped him.

"What?" he asked. "I thought you wanted me to take it off."

"May I have the honors?"

Miroku blinked confused.

"Aa, hai."

Sango smiled, making Miroku melt. Yup, this was getting hard for him too. She grabbed his right hand and started taking off the rosary, slowly. Then, she started removing the cloth, and finally everything rested in a pile in front of him.

He looked down, amazed.

"Last time I saw the palm of my hand I was six years old," he said.

"Well, then it was about time!" Sango said, passing a finger through his palm. The skin was very soft and tender, almost baby-like. It felt kind of odd, taking into consideration the calloused skin around it. "It needed to see the light."

"Hai, arigatou."

Miroku knew. . . he just *knew* that he had to take advantage of the situation now. His hand was in hers, she was so close. . . all he had to do was bend down quickly and. . .

. . . steal a small kiss from her lips.

Her eyes widened, and before she knew what had happened, the kiss was already over.

"Mi. . . Miroku!" she whispered.

"Yatta!" Kagome whispered excitedly.

"Shhh," Inuyasha whispered to her, passing an arm around her back and pulling her closer, resting his head on hers. "Don't disturb them."

A very red Kagome nodded. Shippou, Kohaku and Kirara stared. But then again, the scene downstairs was far more interesting at the moment: Sango was completely blushed, and was looking at Miroku with huge eyes. He was almost fearing she would hit him.

"Did. . . did you just kiss me?" she asked when her voice returned from its little trip to Bora Bora.

"What can I say? I'm a thief, I *had* to steal a kiss from you."

"Miroku!"

"Oh, hell."

He removed his hand from hers, and in a fluid motion pinned her to the ground and kissed her again, deeply. Astonished, she tried to push him off at first, but a few seconds later all her strength gave in and she passed her arms around his neck and kissed him back.

"Now, that's more like it," Shippou said. "Can we go for ramen now? Kagome? Kagome!!"

A quick look told him that he would have to wait, Kagome was too busy kissing Inuyasha that very moment.

They were all yanked back to reality when they heard Sango's voice from down there:

"So, we kissed, when are you all coming out of your hiding place?"

Kagome and Inuyasha parted, and they all looked down at Sango, who was still on the ground, holding the Miroku still on top of her. He was also looking at them.

"Eehh. . . gomen?" Kagome offered.

Sango giggled.

"Come on, Miroku, looks like if we want to eat today we'll have to cook the ramen ourselves. . . and I personally don't want to leave my little brother to starve."

They walked up to where the rest were, and Sango looked at Kohaku.

"Do you allow me to marry this man?" she asked.

"Why are you asking me?" Kohaku asked confused.

"Chichiue is dead, so I thought I might ask you."

"Go ahead. . ." Kohaku said, blushing a bit. "If you love him. . ."

"I do!" Sango hugged Kohaku.

Then they all made their way back to their camp. Happy that the battle was over, and they could quietly have their dinner. That is, if Kagome and Inuyasha would just STOP the freaking kissing and would join them.

But sometimes things are just so infectious that in the end it was up to Shippou and Kohaku to cook dinner, for Miroku and Sango wouldn't stop kissing for a good while either.

So, that was it Hope you enjoyed it I like Miroku x Sango pairings, but I thought I might add a few drops of Inu x Kagome fun as well, just to suit all tastes please review, and have a good night minna-san, it's 1 30 am for me right now
