Maeghan looked at her cousin right beside her. Sango smiled.

"I'm sure that everything will be fine! Kagome will love your voice…she'll be here and minute!"

Maeghan smiled. She had just arrived here to this little town, staying at her cousin's house for now. She was invited to join as a lead singer for Sango and Kagome's band. She was just about to meet Kagome, when someone ran into her.

"Ah!" she jumped forward to see a girl with black hair on the ground.

"Sorry!"

"Hey Rin!" Sango called, waving at the girl.

"Sango what's happening?"

"Not much, we're waiting for Kagome."

"Cool! Hey…I gotta go to drums lessons!"

"You take drums?" Maeghan looked at the small girl.

"Ya!"

"Why don't you come by later, we may need you!" Sango called out, as Rin hurried on.

That was when another girl. Came up.

"Hey Kags!"

"Hi Sango!" the two girls hugged, and then Kagome pulled Maeghan into the hug as well.

"Hey Mags…long time no see!"

"So you remember!"

"Of course! How could I forget you?"

"I dunno…anyway, we should get started."

"Okay!" Maeghan and Sango sat down on the couch and started to chat. Soon the doorbell rang, and Sango let in Rin and another girl.

"Hey Kikyo!" Maeghan ran to hug the girl as well.

"Hey Kags! I heard that you had gone for a band arrangement, and went to see if you wanted some help?"

"Oh…I almost forgot, Kikyo here I think she'd be a great agent! She's not only my cousin, but she has some great links!"

"Okay…we were just going to start talking about the band…"

It was their first practice. The Shards, as they had decided to call themselves, were practicing (Kagome-key board, Sango- base/regular guitar Maeghan- singing, some guitar, Rin- drums Kikyo…well, look up). Kikyo ran into the room screaming.

"We got a job…at one of the snazziest mansions in town! Apparently they want some good music there, and we're in!!!"

"What's the catch?"

"Wehavetoperformagainstothergroupsfirst!"

"What?"

"It's a contest!" Maeghan shouted.

Let's go! Was the only thought, as they took out the instruments.

Inu Yasha watched as the people lined up on the stage…no way the first group…Kouga and the Wolves? That sounded wimpy.

"Hey! Miroku?"

Inu Yasha's lecherous friend hobbled over, a slap imprinted into his face.

Inu Yasha raised an eyebrow.

"Will you never learn?"

At that time, though, four girls waltzed onto the stage.

"Hey Everybody, we're the shards are we're going to let you know who we are…ready?" Maeghan yelled into the microphone. They picked this song because everyone got a turn

Rin followed off with a wonderful drum beats, as Kagome did an ending solo, Maeghan was the only one holding the note.

The crowd was on their feet as Inu Yasha looked at the girls. They were all good looking, but if they one, they'd stay at his mansion for…well as long as his brother needed entertainment (not in the nasty way, but for parties and shtuff).

"If you like that, we have another one for you!" Maeghan called as the cheering died down.

This one she smiled, it was her alone this time. She opened her mouth and the words poured out.

The crowd was on their feet as the girls finished their song and bowed.

"Get Remus…I think we've found someone." Inu Yasha looked at the stunned Miroku, who shuffled off.

Maeghan screamed when she got off the stage. She was that happy.

"Careful, you might ruin that voice of yours!" Sango teased.

"Wow!" Said the announcer on the Stage.

"Well, time to see what the judges thought." Maeghan looked at the guys on the stage. He was pretty cute, with adorable strawberry blonde hair falling into his face.

He read the sheet of paper out.

"In last place we have…The blue bananas." There was some clapping of pity.

"Second…Kouga and the Wolves…"the crowd was all cheering.

"First…The Shards!" everyone was on their feet as the band was pushed onto the stage.

"Well…I guess this calls for a song, doesn't it?"

Maeghan launched into one of her favourites(not to mention the author's)
