CONGRATULATIONS

Chris didn't know what to expect when the letter arrived for him in the mail. There was no name or return address on the plain white envelope. No clue other than the foreign stamps and postmark to indicate who the sender might be.

But he could guess.

Carefully he turned it over in his hands, then slit open the flap, and slid the contents of the envelope into his outstretched hand - a simple yet elegant card and a pressed amaryllis. Eagerly he opened the card, read the inscription, and smiled.

Congratulations on graduating valedictorian, Christopher.
