Red hears the singing again tonight.

It's only been a week since he moved into the Indigo Plateau, and it's too large and too lonely, and the Elite Four are too cold and distant but at least, every night, he hears singing.

He's not sure where it's coming from. He suspects Lorelei, but it doesn't quite sound like her voice. But whoever it is, he silently thanks them, and goes back to sleep. Even if it's an illusion, it's at least a pleasant one.

 

Lance closes his window, as he watches the light go out in Red's room. Someday, he thinks, he will tell him. Someday.
