Ready for the new season of Degrassi? Me too! I can't wait until July, so I am writing this. I hope you like it. This is just a taste of the new character I made up. Her name is Abby Blair, and she's going into grade ten, along with four other new characters (who will actually be in the season)

Prologue-
"Mom, I am NOT ready for grade ten at a new school!" I yelled at my mom, while picking out a new shoulder bag
for my first day at Degrassi. "Don't worry Abby, You'll do fine. It's not the end of the world." She always says that.
One day, it will be the end of the world, and she will be wrong. "It's the end of mine!" "Nooo, it's the start of a new
life, a fresh start. Just you and me." Of course, she uses that card. The one that entitles her to make a hidden
remark of dad, and her pride behind leaving him. My father hit my mom when he was drunk. I hated him for so
many years, for taking away my father-daughter relationship. I never had a 'Doughnuts with Dad' or a 'Daddy-
Daughter dance'. It was all pointless. He had no job, no money, and no life without my mother. He spent his days
at a local bar, trying to erase me from his thoughts. I was a mistake, one my father wished had never happened.
Talk about a hell of a journey. My dad is now two years sober, or so he claims. My mom will never speak to him or
of him again. Except for her little hidden comments, like the one she just made. Things got a lot better after we
moved to Canada. For instance, mom's promotion (the whole reason for moving), no more drunken father
stumbling around breaking things and pounding anything or anyone in sight, and a brand new me with a brand
new life. Full of people who have no clue about me or my past. Perfect. Although, things were great, but I still
got the before-the-first-day jitters. So much was going on, and there was no way to describe it all. Just yesterday,
me and my mom finished unpacking our belongings into our new bachelorette condo, the picture-perfect life.
Now, all I need is a boy. Yes, it ruins the whole 'bachlorette' thing going on, but my mom understands that I'm still
a teenager, not a roomie. She's cool like that. I can't wait to introduce her to my new friends and future boyfriend.
Ahh, I'm so excited! Maybe even mom will meet someone....hahaha. Let's hope he's decent...and rich!
