Chapter 4

While driving, Seiji tried to stimulate the link that connected him to Touma. For the time they had been together, the two had noticed that the link between them had developed quite extensively. So if the archer answered his call or even if he could give him the slightest sign, perhaps he could locate him.

The snow, which was thick and abundant, clouded Seiji's vision greatly. He was concentrating so much on trying to communicate with Touma, that he didn't see the rock that was on his road. His snow scooter hit it head on and projected the blond several meters away from his machine. The landing was so painful that he lost consciousness.

In the chalet, after Shin's announcement, everyone started to get worried.

"What do we do ?" Asked Nasutei with a very anxious look.
"We need to go there out," said Ryo, who was already putting his ski suit.
"Wait, it's useless. Think Ryo, how are you going to find them in this snow ? You forget that our link is not as strong as the one Touma and Seiji have." While speaking, Shin looked out the window.
"You are right, but it's driving me mad to have to wait !" Out of rage, the warrior of fire threw his gloves onto the floor.
"I know, me too, but something worries me still more. If Touma is hurt, Seiji will want to use of his powers to look after him and since he is sick, I'm afraid that will weaken him and endanger him." Shin was turned back and looked at his friends overwhelmed by his words.

Seiji, who was lying in snow, started to regain consciousness. While he collected his thoughts, the blond believed he heard Touma's voice. He closed his eyes and tried to pick up the energy of the archer. After a few minutes, he saw a very weak bluish glimmer in the night. He got up, switched on a flashlight and headed towards it.

He walked through the blizzard for almost an hour. He could feel the tiredness rise in him, but all hope was on to him. He knew he needed to continue. // Hold on Touma. // Thought Seiji.

Several meters, he saw a rocky ledge, hence where the small glimmer apparently came from, a glimmer, which had almost disappeared. He carried on to get closer and found a kind of cave.

Seiji rushed inside and saw a body drawn out on the floor. He rushed towards the motionless form and knelt at its side.

"Touma, do you hear me ? Answer me !" The blond had tears in his eyes. "Touma wake up, I beg you. You don't have the right to leave me ! I love you so much."

Several minutes later, the archer finally came around. He opened his blue eyes slowly and stared at the face leaning above him.

"Seiji, it's really you ?" He asked with a small voice.
"Yes. How do you feel ?"
"I knew better. Do you remember when I had told to you that sometimes I happened get cold ?"
"Yes." He answered by caressing his cheek.
"Well, that happened to me at this moment." Said Touma with a light smile.

Seiji took away his rucksack and brought out the jacket, which he had taken. He put it on Touma. He also brought out a small first-aid kit. He started to cleanse a gash which the archer had his arch of the eyebrows.

"Do you hurt anywhere ?" Asked Seiji while he applied a dressing on injury.
"I believe I have a broken leg and a stomach-ache."
"Perhaps you have broken ribs. What happened to you ?" While speaking, the blond moved down to Touma's leg.
"We were about to return when the storm started. I was very behind and because of snow, I lost sight of them. AIE…"
"Sorry, but I need to immobilize your leg." Seiji attached one of the ski sticks of Touma against his leg to keep it straight. "And then what ?"
"I got lost. I kept on moving, but I didn't see the rocky slope. I fell and I must have lost consciousness. When I awoke, I saw the cave, then I walked as far as this to take shelter. And apparently, I must have lost consciousness again."

Touma started coughing and Seiji saw blood leaving his mouth. The blond took a handkerchief and wet it with the water bottle, which he had carried. He wiped his lips.

"Normally it's me who must take care of you. You look exhausted."
"Don't worry about me, I'm fine."
"You should not have come. It was dangerous, the same thing could have still happened to you or worse."
"Perhaps well, but I'm here now. And you did not believe that I was going to wait to know if the person that I love most in the world were still alive. As you said me, it doesn't matter the place and the situation, to be together is what matters."

The archer wanted to raise his hand to wipe the tears of Seiji, but a sharp pain prevented him.

"Shhh, don't move." Seiji tried to hide his concern behind his wet lock. // He's getting, I need to do something or Touma is going to die. // He thought.
"Where are your skis ?" Asked suddenly the blond.
"I don't know. When I awoke, I had no more them on my feet. Why ?"
"If we want that somebody finds us, we need to show our position. I will leave to seek them. Don't fall asleep while I'm gone."
"I promise to try, but I feel so tired."
"I will hurry back." Before getting up, he placed a kiss on Touma's lips.

Outside, it snowed just as much as before. Seiji swept across the darkness with his flashlight, but was unsuccessful. When returning to the cave, he picked up two tall branches to form a cross in front of the shelter. He hooked the lantern with his belt to strengthen the hold. He also picked up some small branches thinking to make a fire.

"Touma, I'm back. I didn't find your skis, but I installed the lamp at the entry so that they can find us. I brought wood to try to make a fire. I hope that it will not be too wet. Touma ?" No answer.
Seiji started to panic, he let go of the branches which he carried and leaned over the archer.
"Wake up, I beg you. You had promised to me not to fall asleep."

This time Touma didn't awake. Seiji put a finger on the level of the neck of the archer to feel his pulse. It was very weak. He probably had internal bleeding.

Seiji knew what it was to do, knowing because he was sick that it could be dangerous to use his curative power.

The blond raised the chest of Touma and pulled him into his arms. He closed his eyes and started to call Korin for his assistance. A green light wrapped Seiji and Touma.
