This is a story about Rukawa and Yumiko (oc), who are the main pairing. Maybe some Ryota/Ayako on the side.

I do not own slam dunk, however I wished to. Yumiko¡¯s mine and mine alone, nobody can take her from me!

P ROLOGUE

¡°Hey, Yumiko, here comes your boyfriend¡± A group of girls yelled and then laughed.

¡°I still don¡¯t get what¡¯s so funny about it,¡± A blacked haired girl said, closing her book, ¡°What¡¯s wrong with having a boyfriend?¡±

¡°Oh, Yumiko, you don¡¯t get it do you?¡± Another girl said, recovering from the laughters, ¡°It¡¯s what friends are suppose to do, you know, make a big deal out of everything.¡±

¡°Yes, well, I¡¯m leaving anyways, so there.¡± Yumiko said, shaking her head and picking up her pace.

She walked across the school-yard to the front gate, where a tall, dark haired boy stood silently waiting for her, and upon her arrival, smiled and took her bag from her despite her protesting.

¡°I can carry that myself you know,¡± Yumiko said, though she has already stopped trying to get her bag back.

¡°I know, but this might be the last time I get to do this for a long time, I might as well,¡± He said, and then but an arm around her shoulders, ¡°Do you have to leave tomorrow?¡±

¡°Yes, we went through this, haven¡¯t we? I¡¯ll be back, I promise.¡± Yumiko said to her boyfriend.

¡°I don¡¯t know what I¡¯d do without you here, Yumiko, the other people are neither too immature or too nerdy, you¡¯re one of kind in this school.¡±

¡°I¡¯m sure you¡¯ll have no trouble playing basketball without me,¡± She paused here, then giggled, ¡°And you can sleep in class now, without me bothering you all the time.¡±

¡°You don¡¯t bother me, you know you don¡¯t, I¡¯m just joking when I tell you that.¡± The boy said.

¡°I¡¯ll be back in no time, don¡¯t you worry.¡± Yumiko said, and then smiled at him, ¡°Gomen ne for leaving.¡±

¡°Iie, it¡¯s okay, I understand, I¡¯ll wait for you.¡±

¡°Arigato.¡± Yumiko said, and then stopped in front of a fancy house, ¡°Sayonara.¡±

¡°Kami, I¡¯m going to miss you.¡± The boy said, and then leaned forward to give Yumiko a light kiss on the lips, ¡°Hurry back.¡±

¡°Hai, I promise.¡± Yumiko said, and reluctantly turned to walk into the house.

¡°I love you Yumiko,¡± The boy whispered after Yumiko disappeared into the house, and then turned to walk away without once looking back.

A year and three month later

¡°I can¡¯t believe him, he¡¯s became so cold and lazy, I mean, at least he used to talk to some of the people here, but now it¡¯s all about basketball with him, basketball and sleeping,¡± A group of girls, the very same that was walking with Yumiko three month ago were talking together again, but without Yumiko. Funny that they are talking about the same person that was going out with Yumiko.

¡°I know, after Yumiko¡¯s gone, he¡¯s totally changed, and like, for the worse.¡±

¡°Oh well, we¡¯ll be getting out of junior high in a few weeks, and then we¡¯ll be going to different high schools. He¡¯s going to Shohoku, isn¡¯t he?¡±

¡°Yep, that¡¯s the same high school Ayako is at.¡±

¡°Let¡¯s hope Ayako can talk some sense into him.¡±

Okay, a short prologue.

Hope you like it, by the way, the first part is like when they were in the second year of junior high. In Japan, there¡¯s six years of elementary, three years of junior high, then you move on to senior high for another three years, but Jr and Sr are separated.
