“Now let's see…”, Kira mutters, as he walks down the sidewalk followed by Hisoka, “Where is that hotel…?”

“Are you sure you know your way around?”, Hisoka asks.

“I'm sure”, he replies, “It's just I haven't been here in 10 years…”

“I just hope this isn't like what happened with Watari in Kyoto…”, Hisoka mutters to himself.

“Here it is!”, Kira suddenly exclaims.

“Here…?”, the teen gasps, as he looks up at the 20-floor high hotel they stood in front of, “But this is a 4-star hotel! Tatsumi is not going to accept this expenditure… Especially with our budget…”

“I know we're on a budget, but he didn't say anything about me paying out of my own pocket”, Kira states.

“Huh…?”

“I still have all my money from when I was alive! So don't worry”, he reassuringly smiles, walking in through the door.

“Hey! The sign says `No Vacancies'!”, Hisoka shouts, as he ran in after him.

“Hello, Mr. Yamaguchi”, Kira greets the elderly man behind the counter.

“Oh, Kira! It's been awhile!”, Mr. Yamaguchi friendly exclaims, when he sees Kira, “How has your family been?”

“I haven't seen them in over a year, but they're doing fine the last time I saw them”.

“Away at college, right?”

“Yep and now working”.

“What line of work?”

“Investigation…”

`Well, that is the truth… We are investigating the murders…', Hisoka mentally comments.

“So do you have our rooms ready?”, Kira asks.

“Sure, when you called the other day, I was surprised to hear from you in over 5 years and your request for rooms in such a busy time of the season. You're lucky I managed to find two rooms when you asked, before I was booked…”, the older man replies, handing Kira the keys, “But of course since you're a friend, I gave you a discount for the rooms too!”

“Thank you Mr. Yamaguchi, I'll tell my family you said hi when I see them!”, Kira says, as he walks from the counter, “Here Hisoka!”, he calls, as he tosses one of the keys to his partner, “Let's get settled in ours rooms first, before you head out to search for clues about the murders”.

“Is it alright to get different rooms?”

“It's fine, besides… I don't want you to have the opportunity to read my mind while I'm sleeping…”, Kira says, admitting that his mental-defenses are down when he sleeps, “Besides, the rooms are next to each-other, so there should be no troubles in being far from one another”, he adds, as he walks towards the elevators.

-Hisoka's Room; 1016-

`Man, Kira's energy reminds me of Tsuzuki's too much…', Hisoka mentally sighs, `But I have to admit, Kira's taste in rooms isn't too bad…', he notes, as he glances around the room at the elegantly-designed room with it's gold-framed landscape-paintings and king-size bed with blue silk or satin sheets.

As he looks around the room, he wanders into the bathroom, “That is a large tub…”, he gasps, as his eyes widened when he spots the three-person size bath-tub with Jacuzzi-jets.

“Just don't fall asleep in it…”, Kira's voice says from the doorway, “It's easy to drown in one of those things…”

“Huh…?”, he gasps; startled, as he quickly turns around to face him.

“You left your door unlocked…”, Kira replies, knowing what Hisoka's question was going to be without having to read his mind, “So, how do you like the room?”

“I'm over-whelmed… I've never stay in such a high-quality place before…”

“Great to hear you're over-whelmed, I wanted to set a good-impression…”, Kira laughs, “With this being my first mission and all. Plus to make up for my behavior back at the train-station”

The last comment makes Hisoka's face turn bright-red at the memory of Kira's body close to his and his warm breath tickling his ear as he traced the contour of his face.

“So, are you ready to go?”, Kira asks, snapping Hisoka out of his stupor.

“Huh…?”

“You ready to go and find some clues to who the culprit is in the murders?”

“L-let's go…”, he stammers, still flush from the memory of what happened at the station.

“Do you know you're still blushing…”, Kira light-heartedly taunts.

“Shut up!”

-At the Connors Office-

“So what do you think?”, Kira asks, as him and Hisoka look over the body of the recent victim.

“I don't know what could have caused this, I've only been a Shinigami for eight-months…”, Hisoka mutters, embarrassed that he didn't have an answer.

“The police-report here states that the victim was found naked in an ally-way…”, Kira replies, reading the clip-board of papers that went with the body, “With evidence of bodily-fluids that wasn't blood…”

“What's that suppose to mean?”

“Fluids from s-e-x…”, he whispers, spelling the last word and watches as Hisoka's cheeks become dark-red in realization.

“So the, umm…partner is either the killer or another victim…”

“My guess is the partner is the killer”, Kira says, as he touches the corpse's forehead.

“What makes you say that?”

“One, if the partner was a victim there would have been another body, and two, the images I'm picking up from Miss. Maiko's last moments of life proves my theory…”, Kira states, “The killer is female and a supernatural being too… A lot like a Succubus in the method of devouring life-energy during sex…”

“But Succubus's have…intercourse with men not women”, Hisoka protests, as his blush darkens.

“Which is why I said, `a lot like a succubus', this one appears to be into both genders…”, he corrects, “This isn't good…”, he mutters to himself.

“What isn't good?”

“There could be another victim at anytime and any gender, and the festival is coming up which will be like ringing a dinner-bell for the murderer!”

“Well, I suggest we split up and search for the murderer, or at least see if we can sense her aura before she claims her next victim”, Hisoka says, as they walk onto the sidewalk outside of the Connors's office.

“I agree…” ,Kira nods, “I'll go this way and you go that way, and we'll meet up back at the hotel at 6pm, okay?”

“Good idea, be careful!”

“You too, Hisoka!”, he shouts, as he ran off down the sidewalk, “And don't get lost heading back either, I'd hate to have to come and find you!”

`I just wonder what the murderer looks like, I didn't bother asking Kira for her description… Oh well, I'll probably find out when I sense her…', Hisoka thinks, as he walks down the sidewalk, letting his spiritual-senses search out for any unusual-auras.

Been a long road to follow
Been there and gone tomorrow
Without saying goodbye to yesterday
Are the memories I hold still valid?
Or have the tears deluded them?, he hears someone singing, the voice sounding familiar.

“Huh? That song…?”, he gasps recognizing the song and voice, looking up and trying to locate the source of the singing.

Something somewhere out there keeps calling
Am I going home?
Will I hear someone singing solace to the silent moon?
Zero gravity what's it like?, the female voice continues to sing.

`Where is it coming from?', he thinks, still looking around, `There!', he mentally exclaims, pin-pointing the singing to a young woman with long black-hair that he recognized as belonging to the woman who used to visit him in the hospital when he was alive.

Is somebody there beyond these heavy aching feet
Still the road keeps on telling me to go on
Something is pulling me
I feel the gravity of it all…, she continued to sing as she vanishes among a crowd of people, where Hisoka losses track of her.

“She's gone… And I still don't know her name…”, he sighs in disappointment, sadly returning to his search for the killer.

While unknown to Hisoka, the black-haired woman watches him from the shadows of a nearby ally-way, “I'm so sorry, Hisoka-kun…”, she whispers with a frown on her red-painted lips, “But I can't let you get involved… I don't want to see you get hurt…”, Yume-Onna adds, watching him walk away from where he had saw her, “Because even a Shinigami like yourself can be killed…”
