Chapter 2

I Am To Be...

In my bed,
I woke only to see
The tears I shed
In front of me.

Last night, I had a dream
About my unloving and hated kin.
I needed to find a way to redeem
For all of my dreams of them, what a sin!

I hated them truly,
But I had to know
Is my hate for them that unruly?
I had to let it all go.

I looked out the window,
It was a clear day.
I wished that time ceased to flow.
It was beautiful, seeing the sun's shining rays.

I was told
That it was time to eat.
The bed sheets, I folded,
And I ran out only to meet

The Dragon Master, right there.
He was with Mokuba, his beloved sibling,
So cheery was he to my despair.
To watch them be happy, was like killing.

The hurt and pain
Always to be.
But also the fun and gain
Of pure glee.

We all sat at the table
Waiting for our food.
I didn't want to eat, I felt unstable,
I wasn't in the mood.

After they were done,
He told Mokuba to leave.
It was only us without anyone.
I was unaware at what I was to receive.

I sat in my chair,
Waiting for his reply.
It seemed like nowhere
Had passed right by.

I asked the Dragon Master what did he want.
He said not to worry, it's just a talk.
Was this one of his jokes and taunts?
He was known for that yes, to trick and to mock.

I always wanted to be like what he was,
The master, the best
Only because
I wanted to duel like the rest.

Then I was the one who started to speak.
I told him my biggest desire.
I said, "To be the best duelist, to be at my peak."
In my eyes, there was an ambitious fire.

I truly expected
The Dragon Master to joke on me.
But he did not, he respected
What my dream was, what I wanted to be.

He then made me an interesting deal.
The Dragon Master would accept
Me as an apprentice,
If I would promise to be the best and try to learn every concept

Of a duelist.
I was shocked, me as his student???
He said he'd teach me to the fullest.
I didn't know if I should agree, I had to be prudent.

I would stay here at his beloved home,
I'd be fed and taken care of.
This whole house would be free for me to roam.
However, I knew it would be rather tough.

To have a home and be able to achieve
A dream of mine,
It was heaven, the pain of the streets would be relieved.
But of course, there was some kind of fine.

This wouldn't be free of course!
Through rigorous training, I had to endure.
I knew that if I accepted, that decision, I could never remorse.
I still drifted in my mind, quite unsure.

Then I asked him, "Why do you wish to teach me?"
He said "I'm a legend, someone must carry on the Blue-Eyes deck."
I then accepted respectfully,
Hoping this wouldn't turn out a wreck.

Starting tomorrow, my training would begin.
To be taught by the him, the Great,
I couldn't help but grin.
This was much more than I would contemplate.

I couldn't help but think
Though, would this turn out well, or horrendous?
It was too much to comprehend, making it hard to blink.
I am to be...the Dragon Master's Apprentice.

A/N: Wow...that last part really sucked...ahh came late, I know. Oh well, not very many people read it anyway...but I like writing poems if I feel like it (as in, if it's not for school). Anyway, please keep the reviews coming...
