Summary: The war is over, but at what cost? Disclaimer: Rumiko Takahashi has claim on InuYasha, not me. However, the plot is my idea. Enjoy! * * * * * The War is OverShe stood with the wind blowing at her side, her greyish-black hair blowing over her shoulder. The war was over, but at what cost? She glanced around at the open fields, seeing all the dead bodies of demons constantly used to battle. Her bow sat only a short distance away from her, split in half and out of arrows. Continuing to look around, she saw her friends. Tears of happiness ran down her face as she gave a weak smile and closed her eyes. The demon slayer fought strong and hard, especially after the monk used his wind tunnel and sucked in too many poisonous bees. When her weapon was thrown back against to her, she didn't watch as a demon came at her, slicing her across the throat. Her eyes were wide when the blood escaped. She murmured that she loved the monk before collapsing upon the ground. With his love gone, the monk didn't care anymore and used his wind tunnel once more. The venom he sucked in was enough. He soon crawled over to his love and died holding her hand. She shook her head trying to escape the memories. Her friends fought strong and hard. They fought for the ones they loved. She was glad that the fire cat was able to escape the battle, especially when the small fox child was brought. Both escaped back to the village, never seeing the bloodshed, never seeing any of the death. However, was that the worse of the battle? Was that all that was lost when the war was finally over? Dropping down upon the ground, Kagome Higurashi reached for the fire-rat haori and held it close. No, something far from it was lost. She felt his touch upon her cheek as the wind blew. A few more tears, ones of sadness, ran down her face as she clutch the haori close. * * * * * * A/N: This was just an idea I thought of when listening to a certain song. This is what I thought on how the manga might end. I am hoping it won't.
