Apparently Neji gave good romantic advice sometimes; Shino met Hinata at the Hyuuga compound gates before their date.

Neji, however, brooded. He'd let opportunity slip through his fingers. Deep intense eyes hidden behind dark glasses, a slender but muscular body, and he'd just advised it away. It haunted him, seeing the attractive young man that so frequently haunted his dreams with his cousin. The young couple was now speaking to their respective clans about marriage arrangements. The constant contact was driving Neji up a wall.
