A/N: Hello all. While I'm not new to fan fiction or fan poetry, I have never written anything for Final Fantasy VIII, and I was not planning on starting with a poem, but why not. I have always been a huge fan of this game, loved Squall and Rinoa, so I decided to take a short break from my normal haunt of the "Inuyasha" section and write this poem. Enjoy!

My Knight

Somehow I knew all along that I was going to need someone to guide me and to

Protect me.

Who would have ever thought that with angel's wings, I could win a

Lion's heart?

There is no denying that I looked up into the sky searching for

True love.

Once rebuffed by a demeanor so lost and so cold, I still knew

I found you.

Your gaze reminds of the night sky we met under, the

Shooting star.

Did you make a wish like I did,

I wonder.

If ever there was one I needed,

You were there.

If ever a sorceress needed her knight,

I need you.

If ever a sorceress loved her knight,

I love you.

You were always there, a cold star twinkling in the

Opal sky.

You were the falling star I caught, and you always

Hold me tight.

Your blade is

My comfort.

Your strength is

My confidence to go on.

Your pensiveness shows

You love me.

And all I can give you is

My love.

You are mine,

My knight.
