Absolutely unreal. I discovered your work this weekend and am going through it at a record pace. I'm only into chapter 2 of "world enough & time" and love it to death, but the only place it seems to be on the internet doesnt really have review capability. Believe me, I've tried finding it elsewhere, because I can't abide that black and blue print. It is very hard on the eyes. This piece CODA is amazing. The quality of the writing and emotional ties (in character) of the characters is fantastic. You wrote it three years ago, but I thought you should know that your work is alive and well and still being read today.

I finished this with the sort of ache in my throat that means I would have been sobbing at the keyboard if I'd been alone in the room. I love endings that make me feel as though I'm standing here, waving the characters goodbye as they go off to do interesting things beyond the words on the page.
| Reviewed By: my envious self On: July 05, 2006 04:08 CDT Comment/Review: i pretty much started reading this by accident, without knowing either 'coercing kakarot' or 'and then there were three' AND i do not like yaoi and could never believe in a goku - vegeta pairing (not even for mindless sex) but what can i say? you have to be a genious cause i adore this story! the writing is beautiful, the characterization is spot on and the setting (after everyones death) makes it so logical. i didnt cry but when vegeta read the words on the tombstone i was so close... it was just so vegeta. even though i will probably not read the other two stories since they seem to be quite lemon based and as i said im not into yaoi lemons (just not my thing for some reason) i want to express how this moved me. you are an exceptional writer!

Comment/Review: I like this. You did a really nice job building a story around anothers fanfic. It's nice to see such creativity and comrodory (I know I didn't spell that right, but you know what I mean). Two thumbs up ^_^

I have just read "Coercing Kakarot", "And Then There Were Three" and "Coda". Back to back. And all I can say is..Damn Awesome!! You kept the characters completely spot on. You made their developement logical and natural. Oh my, you made Goku so sad it made me cry. And thank you for not making him an idiot! He was smart and deep and lost. Bulma, that woman rocks! She was brilliant. I always figured she had to have a secret thing for Goku. How could she not? And Vegeta, complex and devastating as he should be. And they were all three hot. Wonderful read. I plan on going back and doing it again now!

I'm not a gigantic yaoi fan, and rarely read it, not because I hate it, but because in the fandoms I read, yaoi isn't often written well for me. Examples: In the DBZ fandom, either the author bashes the wives to the point I want to slap them silly, or they go and have Goku and Vejiita (or any other pairing) together without explaining about them leaving the wives, etc. It's really sad. I LOVED this story for the simple fact that you respected Chichi and Buruma in it, and I thank you for that. I must read the other fics that started this fic, by the way. In Trigun, you end up with either incest (Knives and Vash), or random nonsensical pairings that the story doesn't explain enough to make it work for me (like Knives/Legato... I mean, you'd have to have Knives overcome his complete hatred of humans to do that O_o). Inuyasha, well then there's Miroku/Inu, which people don't do well because they bash or blow off Kagome, Kikyou and Sango, or they do incest (Seshoumaru/Inu). So ick. Sailor Moon, and well, mostly you get Yuri out of that series, obviously. *hee* All my examples lead up to one point: Thank you for not bashing anyone to do a yaoi fic in a fandom with characters that are married, and thank you for writing it so well! Nice job!

The ending was perfect, and I really think that them going into space was an excellent idea. And thank you for including Bulma's letter at the end, I was really wondering what she had written, and you filled in the emptiness. It's sad knowing that she died from cancer, and I wish that I knew more about how that whole thing had happened in your story, but we can just leave it at this. You are a great writer, and please write some more stories!!!!!!!

I didn't know you have a continuation of And Then There Were Three, and I almost died. I was wondering if you would write one, and I just stumbled upon it. Excellent, on to the next chapter!
| Reviewed By: MelizaMac [MediaMiner Member] On: April 07, 2005 20:37 CDT Comment/Review: I think putting Bulma's letter at the end was perfect. Of course, it just made me cry even harder. This was such a beautiful story. I love how it flowed; I never wondered WTF was going on or had the feeling that you were skipping around. Although the cornerstone of the relationship was laid years ago, you built the "real thing" over time. I can't imagine such an endearing ending had you rushed them without their own experiences and personal growth. Your OC's fit in with the rest of the characters, IMHO. I like the insight you gave to Maali, and Jeordie was just a hoot! "Bitch." ROFL! I love how Vegeta finally learned the IT. It reminded me of how when a child learns a new word, he will repeat it over and over... Poor Goku! I loved how both men matured by the end of the fic. It would be great to see a sequel telling of their adventures in space! :) Wonderful, wonderful job, Kiddo!

The ending was a little bit tear-jearking, but in a satisfying and ultimately positive way. Just beautiful emotions and thought processes the whole way through. Nice how they still loved and respected their wives, but realized that life goes on and wanted to continue in a new relationship. I especially liked the touch about Vegeta allowing (even *asking*) Goku to teach him the transmission technique: shows growth on his part and willingness to follow another's lead for a change (also like how he could do the IT when he focused on Goku's ki instead of the others- the ki he knew best). I think the lemon would be more fitting as GxV, though, not just because it's my personal preference (ehheheh), but in my mind Vegeta offering himself as uke that particular time would symbolize his greater willingness to trust and allow Goku into his life, would have been greater proof that things had changed between them. I'm always big on symbolism, I can't help it.^^ Him being on top again in that final lemon struck me as a throwback to their old relationship, since all the previous lemons featured him as seme. Any story ideas for their adventures in space? I'd love to read 'em if you got 'em, but ending it here would be fine as well. Now that you've spent some time in Yaoiland, you'll be staying, right? Come, my dear, you cannot resist the dark side... nyahhh :3

I can count on one hand the Dbz fics that have brought tears to my eyes. But man, Lisa. You and Kimmy Jarl want to kill me! I had to read this again after you posted, but I didn't think I was going to cry again. It's the honest way you've dealt with death and love here that's so compelling. It's not sap or tearjerky stuff. It's plain and honest. And it's the ending I would've wanted for Vegeta too.

I was just coping with the finality of Goku and Vegeta going off to wander the galaxy - so sad to think of the world without them - and the BANG! You hit us with Bulma's letter. It was a lovely story, though. Thanks for writing it :D

Poor Goku suffered so much after seeing something he wanted but couldn't have. He couldn't be angry - I don't think he is capable of staying angry, but the hurt was so evident in this. I liked his line about everyone choosing him - when he kissed Vegeta again it was like he was the one making the choice. Vegeta is such a lonely person - I love the engraving on the gravestone. It fits him - a proud declaration, but hidden by the secrets of his language. I'm so happy you ended up with the Saiyans together - anything else at this point would have been too painful for them both. I knew for sure it would happen the instant Vegeta IT'd to Goku - like he was drawn to him. I'm glad I had a part in inspiring this beautiful piece. (And lucky GB - getting Goku if only temporarily.) Since I still have room... Bulma was a little too saintly, but she was being remembered by people who loved her, so I guess it was only natural. You didn't bash Chichi! *hugs* It had to hurt her terribly to think Goku didn't really need her - leaving so often and so long. At least he realized it and tried to make her feel better, although I got the feeling he thought more of Bulma. Maybe because her death was more recent and the wounds were still fresh. *sighs again* I loved this. I'm glad Goku got his turn - and Vegeta. *g*
