Definition of a Friend

 

Look in a dictionary

It'll give you a surface definition

This is not the entire truth

 

Friends are there through thick in thin

There with until the end.

Many a friendship

I have forged

Ended in regret

 

A true friend is there when you need them most

Willing to listen when you need to spill out your Heart

Your Mind

Your Tears

 

Never forcing

But willing to wait

Offering a shoulder

To cry upon

 

When push comes to shove

They know when to stop

And when to pull you back from the edge

When you're staring Death in the face

 

Friends help you

Never hindering you

They can help you try new things

Give you a companion when you do something you thought you never would

 

Forged over time

Made stronger in that way

Sometimes one looks back

And they may ask

“How did we become friends?”

 

Never a clear answer

But you don't care

Your just happy that they're there.
