Done in Photoshop CS in about 8 hours. Background: Unfortunately, Naraku (mid-left) wasn't expecting this amount of teamwork from those who have opposed him for the past few years, and in his attempts to escape yet again, he has taken some hostages as collateral. He has Kohaku (look next to Naraku's left arm) in his possession, as well as an unconscious Sango (center), has put Kirara (right-center) out of commission, and is trying to absorb Sesshoumaru (upper-left). Kikyou (mid-right) and Kagome (upper-right) are dealing what might be fatal shots, but Inuyasha (upper-right) and Miroku (blurred in the lower-right hand of the image in the foreground) can't attack as they normally would due to Sesshoumaru, Sango, and Kohaku being so close to Naraku. Is this the final battle for the Shikon no Tama? I wish it was for their sakes, but I doubt it. Anyway, this is Kagome and Inuyasha from Inuyasha. Don't have much more to say, really, but from now on, I think I want to use references. There was way too much trial and error with this image with my just working from imagination. Done in Photoshop CS with a Wacom tablet in around 17 hours. About my style and choice to do them more realistically: Just because I like Inuyasha doesn't mean that I have to draw fan art in the same style as the manga/anime, so please don't bash my art over the fact I didn't depict them how they are normally protrayed. If you want to see the usual cartoon versions, you'd do better to look elsewhere, because I have no overwhelming desire to draw them in any style other than my own quasi-realistic one. Fandom is more ingrained in loving the characters and story, not the style in which it's drawn, so please be a bit more open-minded. I was planning on having Jaken and AhUn in the picture, but I wanted it to focus more on the youkai and little girl who are engaged in in a sweet little grooming ritual. I used Photoshop CS and Paintshop Pro ver. 7 for the whole thing and the only reference used was for a folded back dog ear, which doesn't really matter since I blurred out Inuyasha to make the focus be Kagome. There's no specific story behind it, but I think it's fairly easy for the viewer to imagine what lead to this scene. I'm personally a die-hard Inuyasha/Kagome fan, so while things look bad at this moment, I'm fairly certain that they will work things out.
