This is a tale of reincarnation with more twists than a labyrinth. Though the inital tone, once the character Tohma enters the scene, seems light hearted, the underlying story is revealed as a very sad and dark tragedy of love and betrayal in another time and place. For 500 years, seven people wandered from life to life, seeking this one single girl being reincarnated. Their only clue to ever find her by was an image she always drew, painted or embroidered in all her lives: the only memory she had of her first life: A tower crowned by the crescent moon by a single tree in a star-filled ocean. Yet they could not live longer than eleven years, or their memories would fade and they would lose themselves forever to the natural cycle of death and rebirth. -- Though the cast seems made up mostly of children, this series is very serious and complex. Highly recommended for fans of epic, old school storylines and who are not put off by simplistic art.
