Beyblade Fan Fiction ❯ Bey-saga ❯ Beysaga tournament, calling on driger! ( Chapter 8 )

[ A - All Readers ]

I don't own Beyblade. All credit goes to Takao Aoki.
I was trying a new shadow clone jutsu to help with my story. All of my clones went out of control with the story and they screwed everything up.
Rayxoc and Kaixoc! Mariah bashing included, of course.
Summary: it's the year 2018 and everything is almost basically done by technology.
Of course everything is almost hand free. Two lucky girls have discovered a regular game called. `Bey-saga' and they were transported into a virtual game world.
The happy host makes a sad guest - Harold frost

The sun rose over the horizon, illuminating the town and someone's bedroom. (Are you kidding me?) (How poetic is this?)
“AHHHHHHHHHH!!”
“AHHHHHHHHHH!!”
(Mai's POV)
I bet you're all wondering what's going on huh? Well you remember that one time in the game? You know, where I accidentally told kai and ray about Bey-saga and we had to fight our way through terror tower and met up against that jerk Tala and in the end we found a treasure chest that had no treasure in it at all but bitbeast eggs? Funny thing about those eggs. They were supposed to stay in Bey-saga, but somehow they ended up in our beds! That's why this whole thing started out as a scream. No pun intended. Me and sai are freaking out because how could something from a virtual game appear in the real world? I thought Bey-saga was really just a game, but it's getting way too real and I think it has something to do with grandpa's research. But I'll leave that to sai because right now I want to know what I'm suppose to do with an egg!
(Normal view)
“Sai! You're the smart one! What's going on here?!” Mai asked frantically at her sister.
Sai numbly held up the egg. “I don't really know. I thought we left our bitbeast eggs at the item shop, but somehow they got here.” Both sisters were stuck they had no idea on what to do. The eggs haven't hatched, yet, but there's still the matter of something not real entering the real world. They decided to take the eggs with them to school, to see if ray and kai had the same phenomenon as they did.
When they arrived at the school they immediately tried to locate kai and ray but as per usual there was a crowed of girls blocking their homeroom screaming kai and ray. Sai and mai sighed and tried to push their way through the crowd. Miraculously they made it into homeroom without being trampled by the flock of girls. Mai and sai found ray and kai in the front of the class room talking to max and tyson.
“You guys ever think about retiring?” Mai joked to get their attention. “If this keeps up this school will go back to being an all girls' school again.”
Tyson brushed his hair, “Must be because of my charming good looks.”
Everyone laughed dryly at tyson's joke.
Sai took out her bag. “Getting back to a more serious topic…we have to ask kai and ray something so if max and tyson don't mind…” she tailed off.
Tyson crossed his arms. “If it's so important why can't me and max see?”
Mai took out a bag of gummy worms, grabbing max's and tyson's attention, and threw it into the flock of fangirls. And like they thought max and tyson went after it.
Kai looked at sai and mai with bored eyes. “So what's the problem and it better be important.”
Mai and sai nodded and took out their bitbeast eggs for them to look at. Kai and ray looked at them in question, not exactly understanding the situation.
“Weren't those the eggs you two left in the item shop in Bey-saga?” ray asked.
The twin sisters nodded. “Somehow they got here and we were wondering if the same thing happened to you guys.”
Kai shook his head. “Not me. Since I could already unleash my Dranzer, Dranzer stayed in my beyblade and stayed in Bey-saga. All I have to do is call Dranzer.”
Mai puts her eggs back into her bag, “Yeah, your flaming chicken helped so much in the past the last time you called it.”
Kai shot her a glare. “Watch it, mai.”
Mai glared back. “I did watch! Your flaming chicken nearly barbequed me!”
“Well, you shouldn't have been in the way.”
“Well, you should learn how to aim!”
They continued to verbally abuse each other so sai tried to talk to ray.
“So…um…any progress with you? Were you able to summon your bitbeast at all?”
Ray shook his head in embarrassment, “No not yet. I just can't seem to get the hang of it. Maybe I need something to provoke Driger to come out.”
Sai shyly placed a finger to her chin. “Maybe someone has to be in danger or something. I mean…you're pretty strong, so maybe Driger thinks you're strong enough to handle fighting on your own.” She summed up. She looked at ray who was studying her and then he smiled, making her blush heavily. “U-h….uh…”
“I think you're right, sai. Maybe one day, Driger will come on his own when I really need him and who knows maybe all it takes is for you to be in danger and requires me to rescue you.”
“Rescue me? You would do that?” she asked. `Oh wow. He must really like me!'
Ray smiled and nodded. “Of course I will. I'll always have your back. That's what friends are for, right.”
Sai's smile faltered and her world turned dark. `Friends? I'm just a friend? Oh…I'm stuck in the friend zone… If he thinks of us as friends there's no way that I have a chance! What was I thinking, I never had a chance.'
“Right. We're friends. I would help you out too if you were in danger.”
“Thanks!”
The teacher soon arrived and the flock of fangirls went to their original classes and the school day finally started. Tyson would fall asleep while a teacher is lecturing. Max would be reading comic books above the text book everyone would have out to follow along with the teacher. Kai is looking out of the window thinking to himself. Mai is drawing pictures and sketches. Sai is partly taking notes and passing notes to her sister who is passing pictures back. Ray is focusing on the lesson and looks out the window day dreaming about something else.
The class bell rang and everyone shuffled out of class. Tyson yawned and stretched as he walked out of the class room with everyone following him.
“That was a good nap. So where's everyone else going?” he asked.
Max smiled, “Mai, Sai, kai and ray are going to study hall you and me are going to gym.”
Mai's eyes wondered to the ceiling. “Hm, why do they call it study hall and no one actually studies in there. If you ask me they should just call it the school library.”
“Sis, some people actually study in there for test make ups.”
“And also they go there to skip class.”
Soon they came up to a corridor. Tyson and max went one way and ray, sai, mai and kai went the other way.
Once in the library they settled down at one of the tables far away from the other students. Mai looked left and right suspiciously before nodding to sai to take out her laptop. “Do you have to take it so seriously, mai?” Kai asked.
“Of course, I do. You're not taking it seriously.” She turned to her sister as she logged on. “So, how much time do we have?”
“We have a good signal here…we have a full hour and twenty minutes.” Sai stated pulling out the virtual glasses for the each of them to put on. Once everyone had the glasses on sai typed in everyone's password and pressed enter.

One by one ray, kai, sai (Raven), and mai (Reka) appeared in Bey-saga.
Reka looked all over the bazaar and noticed that there are a lot of players in the game.
“Wow! This place is ringing off the hook! Something must be going on!”
Ray pointed to a crowed that formed near a wall next to the entrance. “There's something going on over there. Let's check it out.” The others nodded and walked over to the crowd but still had problems getting to the front to find out what's wrong.
“Guess we're not finding out.” Kai summed up. Raven and ray pondered on the situation. Reka suddenly gasped. “Now I remember! It completely slipped my mind, today is…
“…Bey-saga Double Trouble tournament!” A new female voice overlapped hers.
The ganged turned around and saw Tala with a girl who was half wolf.
“Tala…” Reka spats at him, “You've got a lot of nerve showing you face!”
Tala's partner took out her sword and aimed it at reka's neck. Reka took a step back.
“So, I guess you guys are thinking about entering too.” Tala said to them.
“Maybe,” Kai responded. “What kind of tournament is it?”
“It's a double tournament. Two teams fighting two on two.” Tala told them.
“Two on two? What do you get if you win?” Ray asked.
“First place winners receive sixty million gold, A legendary bitbeast, and the legendary weapon from the Dragon islands…” Reka and Tala's partner said at the same time again.
Both girls took out their weapons and prepared to fight each other. Tala held onto her partner by her tail, while everyone had to hold Reka back.
“Let me go!! I'll teach her to talk over me!!”
“You're the one who's talking over me!! If my friends weren't present, you'd be dead!!”
“For once she holds back on out account.” Kai grunted out as he held her back.
Reka turned her head, “What was that?!” after finally calming down.
Tala had let go of his partner's tail. “What's wrong, kai? Can't control your partner?”
“His partner? I know you're not talking about me.” Reka told her.
“Of course I'm talking about you. You're not going to get very far in this tournament if you don't work together with your partner.”
“Who says I'm going to enter the tournament, anyway?” Reka questioned.
“What's wrong? Don't think you're strong enough?” She taunted.
Raven whispered to her sister, “Don't let her rile you. Just forget about her and let's go.”
Tala smirked and turned to his partner, “That's enough, Karin. We've got to sign up.”
Karin nods and sneers at Reka before following Tala in line to sign up for the tournament. Reka grits her teeth at the couple.
“That's two more pains to my gain and their names are Tala and Karin. I've decided that I'm going to enter this tournament.” She declared, causing everyone to gasp at her.
“Are you seriously going to enter?” Raven asked her.
“Of course. Besides I want to test how strong I am. We could kick some serious butt if you and I pair up.” Reka stared clutching her fist in determination.
Kai shook his head. “That won't be a good idea. You and your sister have been playing this game for a while, right?”
“Yeah, what's your point?” She asked him.
Kai sighed. “My point is that, other players might get a smart idea and try to do some research on some of the teams. Most players probably think that you and your sister will pair up since you two fight so well together.” Kai summed up.
“Then most players will probably figure out how to beat you guys.” Ray concluded. “Since there are four of us together, we should pair up with each other. Reka and Kai should be paired together and Raven and I will be paired.”
Raven blushed at the idea and Reka made an `x' with her index fingers.
“You were on a roll until you said me and kai should be partners.”
Raven smiled at the idea of her and ray being partners. She could just imagine all the time they would spend together in the game, fighting together, coming to each other's rescue. Finding new admiration at the idea she pushed her sister in line to sign up.
“Don't argue with the guy! Come on, we gotta sign up! Let's go! Let's go!”
“You're enjoying this aren't you? You just can't wait to get rid of me and leave me alone with kai. Wait…with alone with kai! That's good!” She then pushed her sister in front.
Kai and ray sighed at their enthusiasm and followed them in line.
Two female figures stepped up and watched ray and kai catch up to Raven and Reka.
“Those two look familiar don't they?” The girl with pink hair questioned,
“I don't know, but it's quite a crowd isn't it? Too bad we're not pickpockets anymore.” The other stated. “I felt like a criminal snatching gold from other players. What if someone recognizes us from school? I'm class president, my reputation could go down!”
“Stay focus, hilary! We've got business to attend to!” Mariah scolded.
Hilary waved her off. “I hear you. We're not leaving this game until we're super stars! This tournament is being broadcasted all over the word!”
Four more new players soon appeared and they seemed very powerful. They narrowed their eyes and stayed in the shadows.
Once the registration was done, everyone met at the castle boarder wall for the announcement of the tournament.
“HEAR YE, HEAR YE!! ALL TOURNAMENT FIGHTERS LISTEN UP! YOU'RE GRACIOUS HOST, THE DUKE, IS GOING TO EXPLAIN THE RULES!”
Reka stopped her conversation with Raven and pointed to the guard that was shouting.
“Shouty's got a set of pipes, if you can't say something right, at least say it loud.”
The duke cleared his voice before speaking softly, “I'd like to thank you all for participating in our tournament…”
“THE DUKE SAID THANKS FOR COMING OUT!”
Kai sighed. “Oh great the dude is going to talk. This can go on for ever.”
Ray groaned and questioned, “Does he have to yell?”
Raven giggled. Reka smiled and nudged him. “Come on you two get into it! I love hearing this guy, he's totally jacked.”
The duke continued, “By the end of the tournament we will have discovered the most powerful players in Bey-saga. A team of two, capable of defeating the ultimate enemy- the evil legendary scared bitbeasts who are terrorizing all of our boarders!”
The guard shouts, “HEAR THAT?! AND WHO EVER WINS ALSO GETS SIXTY MILLION GOLD AND A LEGENDARY WEAPON FROM THE FRAGON LANDS!!”
Raven turns to ray and kai. “What are the evil legendary bitbeast?”
Ray shrugged his shoulders. “Beats me, I'm not sure what evil bitbeasts he's talking about. We've met so many of them; it's hard to be sure.”
Reka crossed her arms. “You know, somehow I get the feeling that the sport beyblade is somehow involved in this…”
“Really, what was your first clue?” Kai replied sarcastically.
They turned their attention back to the duke.
“Due to the overwhelming response, registration is limited to only 1,072 participants. All teams will have to fight elimination round that is timed against computer generated opponents. The best of eight teams will then progress to the quarterfinals.”
“TOO MANY OF YOU SHOWED UP, SO YOU'RE FIGHTING MOBS FIRST! EIGHT TEAMS WILL COME BACK HERE TO FIGHT EACH OTHER! THAT'LL BE ALL!”
“….You idiot! I wasn't done.” The duke scolded. “Take him away.”
The guard cried when two more guards grabbed him and took him away.
“As I was saying…there's a time limit preparation. Three days from now the tournament will begin. The reason why there is such a long delay is because this is no ordinary tournament. It's a lot bigger than you can imagine. Players will not have the luxury to just leave to get items or to leave the stadium to get stronger. You have until the day of the tournament to get to your strongest. If you think you're already strong enough, well, that's your death wish; don't expect others to go easy on you. This tournament will be like a battle to the finish.” And with that the duke got up and left. The crowd of players began to murmur unsurely and started to disperse.
Kai scoffed, “Are we suppose to be scared?”
Ray nods once, “Probably, but I'm not giving in that easily. Even though we're just rookies I think we should still give it a shot, besides I still have to find a way to call on Driger before the tournament starts.”
The three of them nodded in agreement, but then raven frowned.
“You know, for once I would like to get a regular game that doesn't turn out as serious as this. Normally in a game when they say it's a lot bigger than you imagine, the whole thing turns out to be a big rip off because the big final boss isn't that hard to beat.”
“But, I guess, in this game its way real and we might be mixed up in something we don't want to be mixed up in.” Reka said, actually sounding depressed and then snapped. “Dang it, I should've read the warning label!”
“You did read the warning label.”
“I did, didn't I? And it didn't say anything about this. We might as well play it out.”
They all nodded in agreement again. Kai grabbed Reka by the arm and started dragging her away, “Okay, we only have until the tournament, so let's start training.”
Reka waved her arms frantically, “What?! Training?! Are you serious?! Who says I want to train with you?! I don't want to!! You're going to kill me and I only have so many lives!!” (All characters in Bey-saga have unlimited lives. When a character dies, they have the option to quit and save or get back into the game.)
Ray and Raven sweat drop at the retreating couple. It's quite the sight to see.
Ray turned to raven, “You're the expert in this game, where should we go for training?”
Raven pulled up a digital interface and scanned it. “The Forest Mountains seems like a good place to go. There are a lot of monsters there, so it's a great place to gain some experience points. That is…if you want to go.”
Ray nods his head and followed Raven out of the bazaar and on the trail to the Forest Mountains. The forest itself was no problem going through, the mountain was dangerous. The mountain is full of Cyclopes, trolls, the occasional flying harpies that come to attack player, otherwise the mountain area was indeed the best place to obtain scattered items, but the higher you go up the mountain the more dangerous it becomes.
(Shadow clone number three: Give it up, you're not scaring anybody. What kind of description is that?
Shadow clone number one: Hey, we promised Lady Amazon that we wouldn't interrupt the story again.
Shadow clone number three: I made no such promise. I refuse to be part of a story that has bad grammar, writing, language, description, spelling, and value!
Shadow clone number two: Heh. Three out of six ain't bad.
Lady Amazon: What are you all doing? You're stopping the flow of the story.
Shadow clones: What flow? )
Ray took the lead up the mountain with Raven following after him. She was going a bit slower since she realized that she has a slight fear of heights. The path wasn't that narrow. It was wide enough for three people to walk directly side by side, but Raven chose to stay near the wall and walk really slowly.
`Maybe going to the forest mountain was a bad idea, after all. At least there are no sign of monsters, mountain trolls, or any other kind of creature that likes to stay in mountain areas.' She snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Ray calling her name. “Huh?”
“I asked you if you're okay. You're hanging onto the wall like your life depended on it. If you're scared of heights…we can climb back down.” Ray told her.
Raven shook her head, “I don't think I can climb back down. Why don't you head down first and go call me a virtual taxi?”
Ray placed his hand on hers. “Not funny. Look, if you're really that scared we can go back and you are coming with me. If it makes you feel better, I'll hold your hand, okay?”
Raven simply stared at him with a deep blush on her face. `He's holding my hand and I think that he's talking to me. Ray is so awesome...'
Raven snapped out of it when she heard a roaring sound. Ray heard it too and kept a firm hand on hers just incase. The roar was getting louder and closer and the two of them still couldn't figure out where the sound was coming from or who it was coming from. Ray noticed that small rocks were rolling down the mountain side and looked up in fright; huge boulders were hurdling down the mountain side. Ray held onto Raven and pushed her out of the way. Huge rocks were still rolling down the mountain side, so ray didn't move from his position on top of raven. Once the rock slide was over, ray slowly lifted himself off her raven and looked at the rocks that now blocked the path. He sighed in relief and pulled raven to her feet. Both seemed fine enough to keep going.
Raven looked at the road block, “How are we going to get pass that?”
“I don't know.” Ray answered. “But, I'm worried about that roaring sound and what triggered that rock slide.”
The loud roaring sound returned again only this time closer than before. The both of them looked up and saw two huge trolls with spiked clubs falling down towards them with the intent to kill. One landed in front of Ray to cut him off from helping Raven and the other landed in front of her and hit her in the stomach with its spiked club. Raven screamed in pain and fell to the ground clutching her stomach while coughing up blood. In her moment of weakness, the troll raised one leg and kicked her over the ledge, not even looking to see if she made it to the bottom or not.
“RAVEN!!” Ray screamed her name when he saw the hit and the blood. Using his martial arts, he kicked one of the trolls in the head with the help of a strength spell that Reka gave him just incase. The troll was sent flying off the mountain and down below into the forest trees. Once he was gone ray attacked the next one, but the troll was tougher than the last one. Raven winced as she tried to hoist herself back over the ledge. She only managed to get her upper half over. Her eyes widened when she saw Ray collide with the mountain wall by the troll's spiked club. “RAY!!” She screamed out as she tried to reach him. Her wounded stomach was bothering her and it hurts too much to move, so she sent a small weak dark blast to distract the troll from ray. The good news is that it worked; the bad news is that now the troll turned his attention back to her and she's still defenseless. The troll swung its spiked club on the ridge, causing another rock slide to happen on the upper ridge of the mountain. The rocks cascaded down the mountain ridge and knocked the troll over the ridge, along with Raven who had lost her grip for a moment, but was able to regain it when she grabbed some jagged rocks that stuck out of the cliff. Ray had finally regained consciousness and desperately tried to find Raven.
“Raven!” He called out, searching around. “Can you hear me? Where are you?”
“I'm dangling from the cliff! Help me!” She called over the ledge.
Ray immediately ran over to the ridge and saw her. He tried to reach down, but she was way out of reach for him. “I don't know what to do! I can't reach you!”
Raven winced as she was losing feeling in her arms for hanging on for so long.
“I can't fly or use any magic, my mana is too low. You better just go on ahead.” She called up to him. Ray shook his head frantically, fearing the thought of leaving her behind like this. “I'm not leaving without you! Just give me a minute and I'll think of something!” `I've got to think of something or else she's a goner. But what can I do?! Driger I need your help! Please help me out here!'
Raven's grip was weakening more and more until her hand had let go of the rock and she had begun to fall with her hand still reaching out to ray. “Aahhhhhh!!”
Ray had reached out over the ledge too in an attempt to reach her.
“Raven! Nooooo!! DRIGER!!” Ray yelled to the sky, hoping that his bitbeast could hear him. Sure enough a green light appeared in the sky and shot down on the very top of the cliff. The green light took the form of the mighty white tiger, Driger. Ray sighed in relief. “Driger!” Driger let out a mighty roar and descended down the mountain, being sure to pick up ray on the way to save the girl who was rapidly falling. Raven stared frantically at the trees that were coming in closer and closer. She closed her eyes and screamed in fear again, but stopped when she had felt that she wasn't falling anymore. She was cradled comfortably in ray's arms and she didn't look anywhere else but at ray's eyes. She failed to notice that she was riding on a white tiger and that they have already landed safely on the ground in the forest area. Ray jumped off of Driger and placed raven gently on her feet.
“I'm really glad I caught you in time, raven. I was really worried when you let go.” Ray told her honestly. “I never felt so useless before.”
“N-no, it's okay! I'm alright; you still caught me just in time. Thank you.” She told him.
Ray nodded to her and petted Driger on the head. “Thanks a lot, Driger. I couldn't have done it without you.” Driger purred in response.
Raven smiled. “Oh, so this is Driger. He's your bitbeast, isn't he?”
“Yup, this is the one and only Driger. Go on, pet him. He's really friendly.” He told her.
Raven shyly pets him. “I-it's nice to meet you Driger.” Driger purrs again and rubs against her, causing her to giggle at how soft he feels. Ray laughed too. “Driger likes you already. You two are going to be great fiends.”
Raven nodded and stroke Driger's fur. “It's really great that you were able to summon him. Congratulations.”
“Hey, it's all thanks to you, so thank you.” He didn't know what possessed him and Raven didn't know either, but ray actually gave her a small kiss on her cheek. Raven felt her heart beat into over time and she felt dizzy.
Thump
“Sai? Raven? Are you okay? Can you breathe?”

Lady Amazon: Alright! There you have it folks! The long await chapter has arrived!
(Bangs head on desk) This writing stuff is a lot of hard work. The images look so much better in my head; it sucks to put it down on paper.
Shadow Clone number one: Oh, quite complaining. It's not so bad.
Shadow Clone number two: Yeah, besides it doesn't matter, some people like us.
Shadow Clone number three: And by us she means us shadow clones. I love the Beyblade shaped cookies that we're receiving with the reviews!
Lady Amazon: If I knew I was getting cookies out of this I would do better!
Shadow Clone number four: I refuse to do something for the sake of other people whom I don't know and who don't care about me.
Shadow Clone number five: Come on, we're your friends.
Shadow Clone number four: Ha! Friends are just a crutch for the weak.
Everyone: Aw, great another hiei!
Hiei is down right sexy next to Kurama, Ray, Kai, Gaara, Neji, Sesshomaru, occasionally Itachi when he wants to be, Reno, Cloud, Vincent, Riku…
Read and enjoy!
