Every time before I sleep,

I sit awake in bed and weep.

I wonder how I managed the day;

I wonder how you slipped away.

I question you, your very existence,

And question my own futile resistance.

How can I think I can pull away from you?

How can I try after all that you do?

You love me, you hate me.

You constantly berate me.

But still I'm holding on

To a hope that is long gone.

No matter what you say or do,

In the end I'll still love you.

Though you left with no return,

My passion for you inside me does burn.

Maybe one day I'll see your face,

The thing that left without a trace.

Maybe, just maybe, one day you'll see

How much your absence is killing me.
