---- Recap ----

[Chibi characters of Amiko, TM, Cindy, and Kensou appear in the foreground as scenes from
the last episode play in the background. Though, you can't see 'cause this is text. Haha!]

Amiko: Last time on GINGA GIRI GIRI! Well, uh... As you notice, Davis isn't here any more.

Kensou: So, that Jallopsimon guy took him out, and we can't do anything but fight Rantmon.

TM: We both lose, but not without dealing major damage to Rantmon's plans.

Cindy: Yes, and the battle with Rantmon is coming closer to the conclusion!

All: So! On with the show!

---- Chapter 71: The Battle with Rantmon - Part 4 : The Eye of the Storm ----

Everyone was frozen in place. TM and Orion lay on the ground before Rantmon, unconscious
and exhausted. Amiko, Kensou, and Cindy took them back and nursed their injuries, using
whatever medicine or items they had on hand. As they healed every bruise, they felt more
scared. As they healed every cut, they wondered where the last one of them was. When the
two were fully healed, they stood up and looked around. SSJ still hadn't come!

Rantmon stood before the crowd, standing tall and proud. His last opponents, Trunks Maxwell
and Orion of the North had finally fallen. They were still breathing, but it was no
problem. They couldn't stop him. Not now, not ever.

Those annoying heroes had finally been taken out. Whoever comes next would be child's play.
He was glad that they had lost, too. That boy had used his energy to damage his circlet. He
just thought, 'At least he didn't destroy all of it.'

Rantmon looked at himself, covered in gray sores. They had seen part of his true self,
something he had expected. But he didn't expect inconsequential rats like the Hokuten to do
it. "I underestimated them," he said to himself.

He glared at the crowd of people near the door, his one blue eyes showing nothing but
hatred. They all grew silent upon eye contact. No one dared step forward and try him.
Except one person.

Rantmon didn't see it from the corner of his right eye, the one that was unprotected by the
circlet. Someone held his arm straight, holding a wand pointed at his face. "Crucio,"
silently whispered a voice.

There was a bright flash, and a brightly colored beam flew straight at Rantmon. Before
Rantmon could react, he was struck. The arm disappeared back in the crowd as Rantmon
turned. He couldn't tell who had cast the spell. But it mattered little; even if it was an
Unforgivable Curse, it had little effect on him. He just felt the stinging in his cheek and
glared around, searching for the caster.

And suddenly, two spotlights lit up. One stood on a tower, where a certain Ken Ichijouji
was aiming it. Another stood upon the roof of the front of the palace, controlled by a
certain Pokemon trainer by the name of Ash (or Satoshi), arm in sling from what appeared to
be a strike from a tyrant.

Rantmon saw the spotlights focus on one person. Voldemort. He was the one who had cast the
curse. Rantmon then saw many colored lights come from small decorations around the room.
One had to wonder how they were all put up without anyone noticing. Then there came music.

Voldemort shoved the crowd away to stand before Rantmon. "To send the world to
devastation!" he yelled loudly and proudly while dramatically throwing off a sepia cloak he
had worn to hide himself. No one could help but sweatdrop.

There was then a squeak, and behind Rantmon, a rat instantaneously became a man. It was
Peter Pettigrew, who pulled out his wand and announced, "To make minions of every nation."

Then, climbing up from the side of the floating island and stepping through the space where
the wall had fallen was Malik, brandishing his Millennium Rod. "To strike down the lameness
of self-insertion fics!" he added.

"To kill you all just for kicks," the crowd heard from the sky. Everyone looked up to see
Bakura drop down from the sky and painfully land on his feet. His knees buckled in pain as
the shock ran through his body.

And so they went through all their names in dramatic fashion:

"Voldemort!"

"Wormtail!"

"Malik!"

"Bakura!"

Then, the Maze brothers leapt up from the crowd and posed before the team. Voldemort spoke
up as he leapt on the Maze brothers' shoulders, "Team Voldemort is blasting off at the
speed of light!"

Peter, Malik, and Bakura posed as well, standing together as the Maze brothers leapt upon
their shoulders, forming a standing pyramid. Everyone stared at the spectacle, not knowing
what to do or say. Peter, Malik, and Bakura said in unison, "Surrender now or prepare for
our bite!"

And the Maze brothers finally finished with, "Ma-Ze, damn straight!"

So they stood, proud before everyone, who was just too surprised to say anything. The
spotlights focused on them from opposite sides, making them cast a perfect shadow in the
ground in the shape of a V. The colored lights all focused on them, now, and they all
glowed with blues, reds, and yellows.

Neither Amiko, Kensou, nor Cindy knew what to say. Their mouths were open, and each had one
eye twitching. They just stared at the team, unmoving. The strap of Kensou's tanktop
slipped off his shoulder. Time seemed to have stopped then, and finally Team Voldemort
broke formation as Voldemort and the Maze brothers leapt off and landed on the ground. Team
Voldemort faced Rantmon with a grin. At the very least, they made a flashy entrance!

Rantmon had nothing to say as he gave Voldemort a rather unexpectant look. Voldemort
stepped towards him and said, "Well, I missed all the fun of seeing you beat my enemies to
a pulp. However..." He turned to the Crew and told them, "Your friend is coming as well."
Amiko, Kensou, and Cindy suddenly felt uplifted. Voldemort turned back to Rantmon and
continued, "He's coming with a friend of his... They look quite alike, I must say."

Amiko and Cindy were taken aback. They exchanged glances. He was coming with Dark? But...
Didn't he hate Dark? What had happened? Still, they turned back just as Voldemort drew his
wand again. Voldemort challenged Rantmon, "The Dark Lord has come to pay you homage."

Rantmon sighed, "Sauron was a better Dark Lord."

Voldemort didn't become angry at that. He just replied, "He can't be better than I if he's
a corpse, now, can he?"

Rantmon gave Voldemort an uncaring glance. He saw the wizard and Peter aim their wands at
him, and he just uttered, "Tch!" as he picked up his blade.

"Expelliarmus!" Peter said instantly. Suddenly, Rantmon's blade flew out of his hand and
cut into the wall over the rubble of his throne.

"Avada Kedavra!" yelled Voldemort. A green light came from the tip of his wand and raced
towards Rantmon. Voldemort smiled as the spell came close to Rantmon, who only just noticed
it.

Rantmon blocked, moving his head and letting the spell hit the circlet. It bounced off and
flew into the sky. Malik, Bakura, and the Maze brothers were taken aback by that. Voldemort
wasn't. "So that thing is a legendary item," Voldemort muttered.

"Are you done yet?" asked Rantmon, glaring at the group.

Malik and Bakura exchanged glances. "Not yet!" they said in unison. They quickly leapt upon
Voldemort's shoulders and kicked off, launching themselves at Rantmon.

Malik gripped his millennium item tightly and aimed its head at Rantmon. Rantmon suddenly
felt a tingle in his head. He looked up and saw Malik just over him. Rantmon was about to
pull back his fist, except he realized he couldn't move. The Millennium Rod shone brightly.
It was trying to take control of him?!

Malik landed behind Rantmon. Rantmon couldn't turn back and attack. He saw Bakura out of
the corner of his eye, still in the air. The points of Bakura’s Millennium Ring were aimed
directly at the Millennium Rod. Rantmon then realized their plan as Bakura took the ring
off his neck and threw it forward, straight at him.

The points of the ring stood up, aimed straight at him. That certainly was a new way to use
a millennium item! He was hit, right to the chest, armorless and defenseless. Rantmon swore
and forcefully moved his arm. He tore the ring off as Malik pulled back his Millennium Rod
and slashed Rantmon's cheek with the blade.

Blood flew from Rantmon's face as a horizontal gash was made on his right cheek. He knocked
Malik away with a backhand and gave Bakura a powerful kick, sending him flying in the air.

Then, the Maze brothers kicked him in the chest at once. He skidded back to the rubble of
his throne, picking up his blade along the way. He saw the Maze brothers stand together,
both in the same fighting stance. He couldn't figure out why until they both rushed at him
at once.

He pulled back his blade and slashed at them. They ducked in one swift motion, moving
exactly the same, but with different sides. It was like they were mirror images of each
other.

To palms struck his chin, knocking his head up. It followed with a slash to the chest from
a Millennium Rod and the jangle of the Millennium Ring as its points cut his right
shoulder. He saw the four jump back, only to leap high into the air.

In a very flashy way, they twirled through the air and ended side by side, extending one
leg out to kick. They all came together in the air, concentrating their kicks at one point.
Rantmon raised his blade, only for Peter to chant, "Not so fast!" Chains suddenly tore out
of the ground and bound together Rantmon.

Rantmon swore as the kicks came close, resorting to pulling out his aura. It no longer was
black and threatening. Its color changed from white, black, brown, and green, the colors of
the auras he still had. However, they still had the deadly form of humans. "What the Hell
is THAT?!" yelled Malik as they raced closer.

From the sidelines, Cindy cupped her hands over her mouth and yelled, "Don't touch his
aura! You'll get crushed from the pressure!"

The four Yu-Gi-Oh! villains were taken aback, and they all kicked off each other and landed
on the ground. Rantmon yelled in anger, using his strength to rip apart the chains and let
his aura come forth. He was angry. He showed his aura again to another worthless group.

Voldemort and Peter exchanged glances. They nodded and aimed their wands at Rantmon again.
Rantmon glared at the two, unafraid of whatever they sent at him. They yelled in unison,
"Imperio!"

The wands flashed and a bolt of energy sped forward, straight at Rantmon. Rantmon blocked
one with the circlet. The other, Voldemort's, struck its target. Rantmon froze. He saw
Voldemort smiling. He couldn't move. It wasn't just like with Malik's Millennium Rod, but
it was much more powerful!

He saw the four Yu-Gi-Oh! villains break up and surround him. They were all around, one at
each side. And they rushed forward, ready to strike.

To Voldemort's surprise, Rantmon forced himself to move, blocking Ma from the front with
his fists. He grabbed Ma and flipped him back, letting him crash into Bakura. With his
foot, he tripped Ze to his left and threw him away.

Then he received a slash to his right side from Malik's Millennium Rod. He turned his head
in anger and gave Malik a powerful punch straight to the head. Malik flew back, crashing
into Peter, breaking the wand from the impact. They were all down except for Voldemort.

Voldemort looked at Rantmon, seeing the being's power. He saw the gray matter ooze out of
his wounds, covering the openings and leaving blotches in the skin. Then Voldemort noticed
something. Rantmon's received more blows to the right side during the fight, before which
he noticed no pattern in the gray blotches. He wondered what that was all about.

Rantmon raced at him, and Voldemort knew he couldn't stop him. Voldemort turned to the
three remaining Crew members and yelled, "Notice his right side! It has more wounds for
some reason!" He then saw Rantmon up close.

WHACK! He received a powerful uppercut, launching him into the sky. Rantmon stepped to each
member of Team Voldemort and toss them up at Voldemort. They flew into the sky, and all
yelled in unison, "Team Voldemort is blasting off agaiiiiinnnn..."

With a bling and a sparkle, they were gone, leaving Rantmon alone in the Rood again. Amiko
looked at Rantmon's body, seeing what Voldemort had mentioned. Just about his entire right
side was covered with the gray ooze now. She then realized it. It had changed since TM had
broken the circlet!

Suddenly, there was a blue flash. Everyone was taken aback as a bright light came from the
side wall. It flashed brightly, until finally a door appeared in it. Everyone was taken
aback to see it open and a single person step in. Amiko and Cindy said at once, "Hayden!"

Hayden had stepped through, gray hair and all, looking around at the battle ground. He saw
the unconscious members of the Hokuten, the one-armed Lee, the broken Paul, and the bloody
Anya. He saw TM, leaning on the wall, asleep. Then he saw the one next to TM. Davis. He saw
from afar that Davis wasn't breathing.

He turned pale. He turned to Amiko and Cindy. "What happened to Davis?!" he asked.

Amiko and Cindy paused. They couldn't muster the strength to answer. Finally, Kensou
replied, "An enemy killed him."

"Rantmon?" asked Hayden.

Cindy shook her head as she held back tears. "Someone we knew... Jallopsimon," she answered.

Hayden looked at Davis, not knowing what to say. He looked at Rantmon, who just glared at
him back. He couldn't think of what to do next. Hayden twitched, opening and closing his
fists, struggling with himself.

Finally, he sighed, and his gaze fell to the floor. There was a long silence. When he
looked up, everyone saw that the pupils and irises of his eyes had disappeared. They were
pure white. Rantmon noticed this, too. He gave Hayden a surprised look. "Just like that
man..." Rantmon muttered.

Hayden didn't reply as he glared at Rantmon. He turned to the Crew. "I'll take care of
this," he said. Amiko and Cindy nodded.

Hayden stepped forward, walking into the glowing Rood on the floor. Rantmon just sighed and
held the hilt of his blade tightly.

Then, Hayden clapped his hands together. Amiko was taken aback to see him place his hands
on the floor and have a blue flash rise from the floor. From the floor came a lance, which
Hayden gripped and aimed at Rantmon. He was able to do it without the transmutation circle!
Amiko said between breaths, "How... Did you... Do that?!"

Hayden replied without looking it her, "Father had seen the Truth. He was able to transmute
himself without a circle, after all. And now that I have his knowledge... I can do anything
my father did, and then some."

Hayden dashed forward, thrusting the lance forward to strike Rantmon. Rantmon blocked with
his sword, knocking the lance away. Hayden clapped his hands together and put them to the
lance, and the blue flash came up again. The blue sparks raced forward, towards Rantmon's
own weapon. Rantmon swore and knocked the lance away before the blue sparks reached him.

The lance split into sand then. Hayden again clapped his hands together and let the sand
clump together into various pointed weapons aimed at Rantmon. Rantmon was taken aback, and
with great speed they all raced at Rantmon.

He let one hit his palm, knocked a great deal away with his blade, only to have his right
shoulder and side pierced. Hayden noticed. Rantmon was blind on one side?

Hayden took that idea and went with it, clapping his hands together and slamming them into
the stone ground. The blue flash came again, and this time it was right by Rantmon. He
dodged right as a spike barely grazed him as it rose from the ground. Another flash
appeared behind him and he came to a quick stop as another spike barely missed the back of
his legs.

And then a spike came up and stabbed him through the right arm. He had missed the flash.
Hayden's hypothesis was right!

He noticed it. The circlet only covered his left eye, and thus his left side suffered less
wounds. Hayden smiled and dashed forward to Rantmon. Rantmon swore and slashed at Hayden
who leapt over it and clapped his hands together again. Then Rantmon realized his plan.

Rantmon leaned back, letting Hayden's hand pass over his head, and then he nimbly twisted
his body and hit Hayden in the back of his shoulder with the point on the end of his
blade's hilt.

Hayden felt the pain and screamed as the point bore a hole through the shirt and skin. He
pulled away, letting blood fly into the air as he leapt away from Rantmon. They landed a
distance away, Hayden panting, thinking of how he was going to get the upper hand.

Rantmon dashed forward with amazing speed. He raised his blade high and slammed it down on
where Hayden stood. Hayden barely dodged and clapped his hands together again. Rantmon
countered, elbowing him away and towards the edge of the island. Hayden alchemized the edge
of the island then, creating a wall to stop himself.

Hayden crashed into it, panting and shaking in pain. Rantmon was beyond him. He just needed
a way to at least destroy the circlet. He got to his feet, struggling to keep balanced. The
two opponents exchanged glances, ready to fight.

Finally, Hayden dashed forward. He used all the strength he had to be as fast as he could.
He clapped his hands together, preparing to finally destroy the circlet. Rantmon sneered
and swung his blade at Hayden.

Hayden didn't dodge. Hayden held out his right hand and let it block the blade. Blood flew
from the wound as Hayden's bones stopped the blade. Rantmon was taken aback. He couldn't
dodge when Hayden's free hand slammed into his face. Hayden screamed as the blue flash
appeared.

With a gigantic crack, the circlet broke to pieces, shards of metal littering the ground
all around. Rantmon screamed and slammed his fist into Hayden's face. Blood flew from
Hayden as his nose broke from the impact, and he flew back and crashed into the crowd. He
was unconscious from the blow.

The crowd screamed and made a ruckus, rushing to Hayden in order to help him. The noise
awoke TM, leaning on the wall. TM looked around at the crowd, seeing them all tighten
around a point. He saw through the people at Hayden lay on the ground.

TM's eyes widened in surprise. He painfully got to his feet, shoved through the crowd, and
stepped to Hayden's side. Everyone moved away as he muttered, "He came, too, huh..." He
then said, "Yanagi, Garnet, come on."

With a flash of red light, the two bishoujo came out and healed the wounds on the guy's
back, hand, and nose. They picked up Hayden and let him hang off their shoulders. The crowd
moved out of their way as they stepped towards the rest of the Crew. Amiko and Cindy
noticed him.

"Feeling better?" asked Amiko.

"Remarkably," replied TM. He then saw Rantmon still standing in the Rood and felt sick to
his stomach. He then saw that Rantmon's blue eyes shone clearly. The circlet had broken!

Rantmon covered his eyes with his hands, shaking in anger. He turned his head this way and
that, as if searching for something. Kensou muttered, "The Hell's up with him?"

Suddenly, a voice called in their heads, "Quite literally, he is blind." The Crew
recognized the voice. It was Frank Miguel's.

"Frank?" asked Cindy to the sky. The crowd turned to her, not knowing why she said that.
She ignored their stares.

Frank's voice echoed in their heads, "He sees only the code in the world. He doesn't see
but two colors: black and white. Even then, they are only provided by the text that makes
up everyone."

"Everyone?" asked Amiko.

"Yes. You all are now code mixed together in his eyes. He sees nothing more; no shapes, no
bodies, and no colors but those two. He is severely handicapped now."

The Crew smiled. Even if they were barely able to stand, their victory seemed extremely
close... If only SSJ would show up!

Frank began to speak again, but then they heard a voice call from behind Rantmon, "You
fool, it's a dead end."

It sounded very familiar, yet it wasn't SSJ. Then they heard another, "No way, there has to
be something past that." Rantmon turned around. Everyone listened. The voice came from the
rubble where the throne used to be. The same voice said again, "Look, I'll take care of
it..."

Suddenly, an explosion tore through the stone, with a beam of light racing from it and
flying into the air. The stone shifted and collapsed. Smoke came from it. And out of the
rubble stepped SSJ, Dark, and Momo.

Momo coughed and looked about. She saw the huge crowd staring at their group. She felt
nervous then, seeing Rantmon before them all, standing in the center of the Rood Inverse
glowing on the stone floor. "That's... Rantmon?" she asked. They nodded.

She then saw SSJ and Dark step up. SSJ smiled and said, "Yo, guys! How's it going?!" Amiko
shook with relief, seeing SSJ fine since she last saw him. TM grinned, seeing his friend in
one piece. Cindy shot an angry bullet at him, which barely grazed his hair. She apparently
had been angry at his leaving. Kensou just slightly grinned.

Momo saw SSJ and Dark nod. SSJ turned to Momo. He said, "Wait with them."

She nodded, "Yeah." She stepped around the circle and stepped beside Amiko.

Amiko leaned over to her and asked, "How has your side been?"

Momo turned to her. She smiled. "I think we'll be fine," replied Momo. She turned and saw
Rantmon, covered with the gray blotches. She wondered what they were, but SSJ and Dark
stepped into the Rood, ready to fight Rantmon.

Amiko leaned over again and asked, "What happened between those two? SSJ hated him..."

Momo smiled. "They agree on at least one thing. Rantmon needs to be defeated."

Amiko nodded and turned back to the three in the Rood. SSJ drew his sword. Dark formed his
lance in his hand. Everyone tensely stood, waiting for the battle to begin.
