---- Chapter 97: Under the Sun ----

The sun hung high over Terra as the world returned to normal. Not a cloud hovered in the
sky as millions of people crowded the sidewalks of a cleared street, the barriers keeping
them from the black asphalt. Confetti dropped upon the street from all angles, and balloons
escaped from their owners' hands towards the blue above.

All the people's voices were heard near and far, mixed and blended together like a
melodious hum. Then all became silent as a single bugle called. It was the presidential
bugle, announcing the arrival of Kino Tsumuji. First came the marching band, playing the
anthem of Terra, followed by lines of State Alchemists. Hayden, Roy, Edward, and Riza were
among the line of alchemists marching along the street.

The bugle blared as a single car came into view, padded leather interior and sleek chrome
frame enough to show everyone where their tax dollars were going.

The people cheered for Kino, laden with bandages and arm in a sling. He held a smile as his
car continued down Main Street, Solarice, showered with flowers from all sides. Cheers and
calls rang out from every corner, Kino's bandaged figure a sign of courage and bravery.

Behind Kino, even larger cheers rang through the streets as the Hokuten sat in their own
open-top car of the same style. They, too, were showered with flowers and confetti as they
rolled down the street, the same people cheering for them as when they were in Century
City. The Hokuten smiled and cheered back, happily adapting to the atmosphere.

Following the Hokuten was SSJ, sitting upon the cushioned leather seat of his own car,
seeing the shouting people pass by. They all cheered and cried for their heroes. SSJ saw
girls waving at him and calling his name. SSJ sighed and simply smiled.

"YOU'RE NOT RELAXING ENOUGH, SSJ!" he heard calling from behind him. In the vehicle
immediately behind, there was TM, sitting in the middle of his own leather seat with a girl
on each arm. SSJ glared at TM with narrow eyes. "Come on, don't be so serious! There are
more than enough women-"

TM was suddenly interrupted by a brick to the head. From behind TM's car, Amiko stood in
her own car, glaring at TM. She yelled, "TM, QUIT ABUSING YOUR FAME!" A rumble of cheers
rang for Amiko then, and she noticed that the many males who turned out for the parade
began cheering for her. Amiko turned white and sank in her chair. Tenpi lovingly pecked on
her shoulder.

Amiko was followed by Cindy's car, where the girl sat there with Mokona on her head. Cindy
felt the cheers all around, and she smiled, feeling much happier than after the Rantmon
battle. Everyone was alive and well. Davis was alive this time around and trailing in the
car behind her.

Davis turned this way and that, seeing the people suddenly become silent at the sight of
him. "Hey, didn't he die?!" he heard from one angle. "Yeah! He did!" someone yelled from
elsewhere. Davis didn't know what to say. He then noticed a person standing by the
barriers. TM leaned on the barriers and was sweet talking a rather cute girl.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" screamed Davis. TM turned back to him. "You're ruining the
parade!" TM became smaller as the car continued down the line. "Hey, get back to you're
car!" TM became even smaller. Davis turned to the driver. "Hey, hey! Slow down!" The driver
didn't listen, and Davis disappeared past a corner.

TM continued chatting with the girl, who giggled as he continued bragging. TM then saw the
vehicle become level with him- Van's. Van sat in his car and glanced with a bored look at
TM. TM noticed the girl he was talking with instantly swoon at the sight of the new boy. TM
glanced at the girl and his mouth dropped to the floor. 'Van out flirts me?!' he screamed
in his mind. 'ME?! IMPOSSIBLE!' TM watched Van, and he noticed that all the women that Van
glanced at instantly swooned. TM sighed. "His kung-fu is strong," muttered TM. With that,
TM chased after his own car.

Kensou followed Van, seeing TM race past him. He could only sigh and smile. Those kids were
still amazing. They saved the world and still have enough energy to joke around. There was
the reason the world loved them so much. They were not only strong, but they had strong
hearts. Kensou bowed his head, thinking many thoughts alone.

He ignored the confetti and balloons falling all around. He ignored the birds in the
cloudless sky as the sun's rays filled the streets. He slightly smiled as he thought about
the adventure he just had. He had expected to run away and hide from Kino. Now he was in
the same parade line as that man. He wondered how that had happened. Such a thing could
never have been expected so long ago.

None of this would have been believable just two months ago, when Virus still possessed
Rantmon... "Six kids had the power to change everything," muttered Kensou.

***

The parade passed, as did the celebrations and television appearances and interviews. It
all had passed until it was finally the afternoon, with SSJ standing outside Solarice,
wearing his white tanktop and casual gray shorts. Instead of the boots he had used to
travel all those miles, he wore simple sneakers. He wore no armor. There was no need
anymore.

He looked back to the city and there was Amiko stepping towards him, wearing just her
T-shirt and white shorts, no longer with her armor or weapons. Tenpi followed the girl,
chirping as it continued along. The two exchanged grins.

TM raced out of the Terran capitol then, smiling from ear to ear. His black T-shirt and
jeans, brand new and not torn in anyway, seemed unnatural to the two. "Yo!" TM yelled to
SSJ and Amiko.

"Yo," SSJ said back as Amiko greeted, "Hey!"

Davis and Cindy followed after TM, sighing at the guy who was much too cheerful. "That guy
wasn't any different when the world was about to end," muttered Davis, dressed in just new
jeans and a blue T-shirt.

Cindy nodded, dressed in her black V-neck shirt and her jeans. That boy definitely never
was able to get serious.

"Hey!" they all heard people from behind. They saw the Hokuten lined up before them, all of
them healthy and well. Beside the Hokuten were Momo and her brother, as well as Kensou. Van
stood with them.

"Hey, Van!" yelled TM. "You're not coming?"

"I don't have any bishoujo," replied Van. TM remembered that point then. "Besides, while
you're gone, I'll have an easier time with the women." TM fumed and flipped the guy off.
Everyone sighed at the two.

Momo then yelled out at SSJ, "We'll be waiting!" Nataku then playfully messed up her hair.

SSJ yelled back, "Alright!" He then yelled at Nataku, "Take care of your sister!" Nataku
nodded with a smile.

The Hokuten then stepped away from the city. They stepped up to the Five. Everything seemed
to have been like it was back then. They faced each other with smiles. Anya said, "Well,
everything turned out well, did it not?"

Amiko said back, "Yeah, thanks to your help! We would have had a tough time had it not been
for you."

Risika suddenly had a thought. She called, "Hey, TM!" TM looked towards her. "How is your
back?"

TM realized what she was talking about. He quickly felt his back. He felt nothing but his
own skin. No ink, no marking. "The Blood Sin's gone!" he exclaimed.

Risika nodded. "Yes, the power associated with it seems to have finally faded away after
Virus' end." Risika turned towards the sky. "For all this time, Izanagi's power of death
had existed within Virus. It was strengthened by death and craved it. Now it has gone, and
so has the Blood Sin, the symbol of Izanagi's wrath."

"Damn," TM muttered then. Everyone looked at him. "I really liked having that kind of
power." Everyone sighed.

With that, the Hokuten stepped forward, away from the Five. "Hey, wait!" called Cindy.
"Where are you going?"

Lee turned back and answered, "We're a Clan! We take missions in order to survive! We just
got a mission to seek the Holy Grail!" Everyone sweatdropped at that.

"Anyway," they all heard Orion speak, "We shall meet again."

"After all, what kind of friends would we be if we didn't see you off?" Paul added. The
Five smiled. The Hokuten waved as they stepped over the hills, the golden metal of their
shoulder guards glistening in the light. Their red and white uniforms slowly became blobs.
And they disappeared beyond the hills.

The Five looked back at the four people behind them. Amiko smiled at Kensou, and Kensou
smiled at her. With that, they stepped away from Solarice, towards the plains. This would
be their final journey. This would be the end. Amiko wished for those days to last forever.

***

The Five reached the harbor and stepped upon a boat. Their first destination was the
closest, File Island. Everyone stepped off the boat upon arriving on File Island, telling
the crew to wait for the Five's return. With that, they stepped through the forests towards
the center of the island.

Along the way, many red flashes appeared all around the Five, scaring away any wildlife in
the forests. Sora appeared beside TM as Taichi, Daisuke, Takeru, and Koushirou appeared
beside Amiko. Quite a difference. Mimi stepped with SSJ as Hikaru followed Davis. They
finally reached the settlement of the digidestined, all in the same arrangement as it had
been when they left.

"Hah!" Taichi exclaimed. "It's good to be home!"

"Though, it's not quite home," muttered Sora. "It's good to be back here."

Koushirou then noticed a figure up in the mountains. He pointed up there and everyone
turned to see Ken Ichijouji back in his place atop the mountain. Everyone waved at him.
With that, the Five stood before all of the digidestined. "Well, it's been nice traveling
with you!" SSJ said to them.

"I'll miss you all!" Amiko cried as she clung to her bishounen. Everyone sweatdropped.

"Well," said Hikari. She turned to Davis. "I'll wish for your happiness!" Everyone heard
her words.

"Wish...?" SSJ repeated. He suddenly remembered what Mimi told him when they were first
there. The lake was able to grant wishes. He dashed to Hikari and demanded, "Hey, where is
the lake?!" Everyone was surprised by his sudden seriousness.

Hikari pointed behind her, and SSJ dashed into the forest again. The others chased after
him, yelling at him to wait. SSJ didn't wait. He dashed full speed through the trees
towards the clearing. And suddenly, there was the lake. The others arrived after him.

"What is this all about?!" Amiko shouted as she panted with fatigue.

"Yeah!" TM added. "We're in no hurry, aren't we?!"

SSJ just stared at the lake. "Uh, lake," he began. "Uhm..." As he thought about what to
say, the various Digimon characters arrived through the foliage. Finally, he shouted,
"Please! I beg of you to grant this wish! REMOVE THE JUSENKYOU CURSE FROM US!"

TM's mouth widened into a grin and he cheered for SSJ. Amiko's mouth dropped to the ground.
There came a silence, and nothing happened. Cindy and Davis looked upon the three, seeing
no change in them at all. Well, Amiko was turning redder as SSJ turned around, cursing,
"Damn it, it didn't work!"

Suddenly, Amiko's foot connected with his face. "DON'T DECIDE THAT FOR YOURSELF, IDIOT!"
she screamed. "I LIKE MY CURSED FORM!"

SSJ screamed as he fell towards the lake, "IT DIDN'T WORK ANYWA-" He was cut off as he
landed in the water. There was a giant splash, and SSJ sat there, glaring at Amiko. "Great,
look what you..." He trailed off. He sat in the shallow water, and all the others looked at
him. He was still in his human form. He looked upon his hands, seeing the fingers on them.
He felt his black hair. His mouth opened into a wide smile. He rose up and screamed, "YES!
YES! FINALLY, YES! NO MORE KERO!" TM screamed cheers as well.

Amiko fell to her knees. She felt the water. Nothing happened. She slammed her fists into
the ground, "NO! NO! I LIKE BEING A NIGHTCRAWLER THING! DAMN IT!" When SSJ stepped back
onto land and spoke to her, he couldn't get a reply. Amiko didn't say anything to him for
the rest of the day.

With that, they all turned to the Digimon characters and bid them fare well. They returned
to the boat and set off for their next destination. Amiko swore under her breath the whole
way.

***

Their second destination was to South City, through the Forests of Krosa. The foreboding of
the forest had not changed, but it had become silent and still. No longer did the creatures
scream and bellow into the night. It had all calmed.

They raced through and arrived in South City quickly. Through the streets of cheering
crowds, they found the newly repaired Capsule Corporation building. They saw the Briefs
watering the garden when they arrived. The Briefs noticed the Five as Bulma, Chichi, Goku,
Vegeta, Trunks, and Gohan.

The Briefs exclaimed in joy at the sight of their daughter, and the Z-warriors looked at
the Five with smiles. With farewells said and done, Amiko and SSJ had to pull Cindy away
from Trunks in order to continue their journey.

***

They arrived next at the Destiny Islands, Amiko cried again as Sora and Riku were let go.
SSJ attempted to calm her down, but she gave him a backhanded fist. They eventually had to
drag Amiko away.

As they did so, everyone noticed how vibrant Destiny Island had become, apparently
recovered from Dullahan's attack. The Crew smiled as the people cheered for them. They
seemed to not have minded that it was the Five's fault that their city was attacked. With
spirits high, they stepped towards the dock again.

***

They arrived at Hogwarts that day in high spirits, though Amiko still fumed at SSJ.
Arriving at the prestigious school, they were greeted with flocks of students and teachers,
exclaiming how great they were. With red flashes, Hermione, Ron, Harry, and Draco stood
before the Five. Amiko looked upon the school, realizing this was where she met Black Amiko
for the first time. That place was where she began reclaiming her other half. She smiled at
the memories.

Farewells were short, yet still difficult, as the five returned to their boat, heading
towards the Besaid Isles.

***

Upon arriving in Besaid, the Crew saw the sun beginning to set. People from all over came
to greet them, and the Five struggled to step away. They suddenly saw the Besaid Temple
rebuilt before them, before Zeromus collided into it. A smile formed on their faces again.

Red flashes filled the area, and most of the Final Fantasy characters faced them. There was
Lulu, Yuna, Rikku, Tidus, Auron, and Wakka. Beside them were Sephiroth, Vincent, Cloud,
Aeris, Yuffie, and Tifa. And finally, there was Zidane, Vivi, and Dagger. All stood before
them, smiling at the Five.

TM suddenly felt his hand twitch. He looked upon his hand, looking at each of his fingers.
He saw the fingers involuntarily twitch. He knew no reason why. 'What the Hell...?' he
could only think to himself.

***

That night, they stayed in Tokyo, resting at the Aoiya Inn. Misao was practically bawling
at SSJ's leave. SSJ reflected back and thought that it was a change from what she had
initially thought of him. He smiled at that thought.

Kaoru, too, was feeling depressed because of TM, as was Megumi. Amiko was bawling at
Kenshin's leave, as was Cindy with Sano, as well as Aoshi and Saitou. But it was mostly
because of Sano. Hiko stood by them all, muttering how crazy they were.

TM couldn't ignore, then, the unsteady twitching of his fingers. The others turned to him
as they saw him staring at his hands. "What's wrong?" asked Cindy.

"I feel weird," TM replied. Everyone was silent as they saw his hand uncontrollably
shaking. He explained, "I can't stop shaking..."

"Excited?" Davis wondered.

"No, it's not that kind of shaking," TM muttered. "It's... It's more like... Like I feel
weak." There was a long silence.

SSJ then got a thought. "Could it be you're finding it difficult to adjust to the weakness
of losing your bishoujo?"

TM's eyes widened in realization. "I see," muttered TM. "That's why. I'm used to so much
pressure and weight. Now, my body's adjusting to being weaker..."

Amiko then turned to Davis, ignoring SSJ, for she was still angry. "You think we'll feel
the same once we lose all our bishounen?"

"I think it's just a TM thing," replied Davis. "He has taken on the most pressure out of
all of us. He has constantly been pushing himself. His body just needs time to get used to
not constantly exerting energy." Everyone was silent as the night became even darker
outside the inn. Everyone saw the pitch blackness outside.

"Let's just get some sleep," SSJ told them. Everyone nodded, and Cindy blew out the candle.
The room became flushed in darkness, where the Five moved under the sheets of their beds.

The night passed on, with TM unable to keep still. He shook under his blanket, struggling
to keep still and to relax. He felt every part of his body twitching. He wondered when he
would be able to sleep normally, if at all.

***

The next day came, and TM was feeling rather terrible. He had only gotten a couple minutes
of sleep before the rest of the Crew awakened to seize the day. His hair was disheveled and
there were large bags under his eyes. When the Five saw him, they could only sympathize.

After preparing for the day- with Misao, Amiko, and Cindy bawling again, the Crew set off
for their next destination.

Nearest to Japan was Balamb Garden. They reached the institution a little past noon, where
Amiko teared again over Squall, Irvine, and Zell's leaving. SSJ hugged Quistis and Selphie
as TM patted Rinoa's head. They were some of the first bishounen they had. They all felt
sad for having to leave, but with pain, they stepped away and headed for Middle Earth.

***

They arrived at Rivendell soon after, using the Ragnarok for transportation. They were
greeted by people of all races- dwarves, elves, hobbits, man... Everyone there finally
seemed happy and at peace. It was there that Legolas, Gimli, Frodo, Merry, Aragorn,
Gandalf, Sam, and Pippin, standing before the crowds at Rivendell.

Emotions became higher as more bishounen were let go. TM's shaking had slightly abated as
he was getting used to his lower limits. Amiko noticed it. She asked, "Feeling better?"

"Yeah," TM muttered. "I'm getting used to this calmer lifestyle." With that, they followed
the Great River towards the Hinata-sou.

***

Before the Crew reached Hinata-sou, Cindy suddenly felt Vash's bishie ball rumble. In the
midst of the desert around the ruins of July City, Vash suddenly appeared in a flash of red
light, surprising the Five. "Vash!" Cindy exclaimed.

Vash gave Cindy a sad, yet satisfied expression. "I am done," said Vash. "You can leave me
here."

Cindy suddenly shouted, "But this is a Hell-hole! At least let me leave you at a town or
something!"

"No," Vash sternly replied. Cindy looked up with surprise at Vash. "I must leave and follow
my own path now. My journey to begins when yours ends. I must do what I can to repay the
people of this city who died."

Cindy looked at Vash silently. She finally conceded, "Alright then, Vash. Good bye."

"Fare well," Vash said with a smile. He then stepped away from the Crew. With that, the
Crew headed for Hinata-sou.

***

They arrived that day at Hinata-sou, where Hayden, Shinobu, and Kitsune greeted them with
smiles. Red flashes filled the sky as Motoko, Mutsumi, Su, and Naru appeared before Kitsune
and Shinobu. There were tears of happiness for the reunion, yet also tears of sadness for
the farewell.

"It's been fun!" Naru called to Davis. Davis smiled back.

"Ara, take care, okay?" Mutsumi said to TM. TM grinned, ignoring the twitches of his arm.

Van and Dillandau suddenly appeared in a flash of red light before Amiko. Amiko looked at
the two of them. "Guys?" she said in surprise. The two smiled.

"This is it, huh, Amiko?" Dillandau began.

"It's been nice knowing you," Van added. Amiko smiled. With that, they continued on their
journey.

***

Soon after, Amiko and company reached Hyrule, and Amiko remembered she had somehow acquired
Link. Standing before castle Hyrule, Amiko let Link out. The two smiled at each other and
bid their farewells. Amiko felt more and more saddened with each of her bishounen gone.
Yet, she felt calmer as she came to realize that it really was over.

***

In time, they came upon the ruins of the Ura Buto Satsujin arena, broken and collapsed.
Just next to it was a small city, inside which Fuko, Tokiya, Recca, Yanagi, and Koganei
were released. More good byes proceeded as the sky became a darker shade of blue. The sun
began moving down as they continued onwards, not looking back.

***

They continued even further. They reached Mabase and let out the FLCL characters. They
passed Tokyo-3, letting out their much beloved Evangelion characters. Passing through
F-City, they returned all the members of Across, and then proceeded to dash away from the
Daitenjin.

They found the Hidden Leaf Village, and after a jovial chat with the Hokage, they left the
Naruto characters and continued. They reached the city of Sengoku Jidai, where they let
their Inu Yasha characters run free. And finally, they reach the Village of Heretics, where
Shannon, Pacifica, and Raquel of Scrapped Princess fame were set free. That left them with
Seto Kaiba, Jill Valentine, Claire Redfields, the Gundam W characters, the Ranma 1/2
characters, and the characters of X.

Knowing this, they journeyed to a city they had never visited before. They headed for
Domino City.
