Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Blue Haired Argetlam ❯ Tell Kakorot? Are You Crazy? ( Chapter 3 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]
The next day, Vegeta rehearsed over and over what to say to Goku. He wondered if Goku would even believe him.

When he saw Goku at the party, Vegeta became nervous. How could he possibly explain to Goku what he really was, without some sort of a negative response? Then he remembered it was near impossible to try to make Goku angry.

He walked up to Goku and said, "I need to talk to you about something, Kakorot."

"You actually WANT to speak to me?"

"That's...right."

"Must be serious, then.."

Vegeta nodded. At that moment Bra showed up, her tiny red dragon perched on her shoulder.

"You're an elf!" she said to Goku.

"An elf?"

"Bra! I was supposed to tell him!" Vegeta snapped at her.

"Mom knew you'd never work up the nerve to explain everything, so I figured I'd help you."

Over the next hour, Vegeta--with some help from Bra--explained the whole story to Goku, who was wide-eyed.

"I'm an elf..so why aren't my ears pointy?" Goku asked.

Vegeta nearly fell over. "Because, Kakorot, the very SECOND the saiyans came into the new planet, they knew they had to disguise themselves. So no one besides them could know where they came from." He put his left hand over Goku's right ear, muttered something, then repeated the process with Goku's other ear.

"Now look in a mirror, Kakorot."

Goku went to the bathroom, and soon came back. "It's not possible. How did you make my ears like that again?"

"Magic, Kakorot, all elves possess the ability to perform a spell."

"Now that my ears are pointy, shouldn't Gohan's and Goten's ears be pointy too?"

"No. Not unless the same magic just performed on your ears was to be done on theirs as well. And I don't think that they wish to go around with people following them asking why their ears were suddenly pointy."

"Good point..so about this evil king.."

"Kakorot..the elves may have been stronger than the king in strength, the saiyan elves were even stronger than the ordinary elves in strength, but he is a master of breaking into people's minds. Anyone lacking the proper training could be controlled by him."

"But we have to help the elves, and the people, against that king!" Goku protested.

"Fine, Kakorot, fine. But how do you propose we go to help the people, short of practically blowing up the place powering up to tear a hole in the dimensional walls?"

Goku said, "We CAN go someplace unpopulated, you know. I guess we have to make a few preparations, though, don't you think?"

"For once you're thinking right, Kakorot. Okay. First of all we have to pack PLENTY of food in capsules. Bulma, can you get some of those sword-and-shield sets I've been collecting? Put some of those in a capsule, too. Oh yeah, and don't forget some bow and arrow sets."

"What's with all the weapons?" Bulma asked.

"The Varden needs as many weapons as it can possibly get," Vegeta replied, "I forgot! Some of my armor sets, too. The Varden would be pleased to have some of that armor."

"Never thought I'd see the day when Vegeta would suggest doing something that would please someone other than himself," muttered Goku.

"This is no time for teasing, Kakorot! I fully intend to go back to Du Weldenvarden and assist my race in destroying the evil king that destroyed so much of them. Saiyan pride? Maybe.."

Goku replied, "Tell us how the saiyans came out of the elves."

"It's a strange story," Vegeta said, "But I'll tell you anyway. You see, when the first saiyan elf was born--his name was Saiya. Being born with a tail seemed to make him special, and he proved that when he was growing up. He was much faster, stronger, and much more intelligent than other elves his age. When he was an adult, more saiyan elves showed up in the race--he hadn't had any children, so this puzzled him. He could only have assumed that saiyans were a sort of mutation of normal elves. So he named the new breed of elves "saiyans," after his name. The last time I checked, he still lived in Du Weldenvarden."

"Wow," Goku said in awe, "He must be ancient!"

"As far as I knew..when I left Du Weldenvarden, he was..." Vegeta began counting on his fingers, "...at least one thousand years old."

Goku's jaw hit the ground, "He's that old? Wow!"

"Anyway, Kakorot, start training."

"Why?"

"Weren't you listening? You have to train your MIND for this opponent. King Galbatorix is the most ruthless, cunning, evil man to ever walk the face of any planet."

"That bad, huh?"

"Yes, it's that bad! Do you know what my earliest memory was?" Vegeta asked in rage.

"What?" Goku asked in a small voice.

"Seeing my mother carried off by that hideous King's dragon! Have you any idea how that feels, Kakorot? Well, do you? I'm waiting for an answer!"

"I...don't know how that feels..so that's why I'm going to say...when we fight that evil king, I'm going to let you have first crack at him."

"Thanks, Kakorot."

"Oh my gosh! Newsflash! Very important news! Vegeta actually THANKED Goku for something!" Trunks clutched his chest, pretending to have had a heart attack, and mocked a faint.

"Trunks, get up. This isn't funny," Vegeta growled at him.

Bulla said, "So what about me?"

Vegeta replied, "You'll have to train more than any of us. Magic and using a sword, those are two things I want you to study, study, study, and study some more at."

"Why using a sword?"

"Because that's what most people in the Empire use to defend themselves, and attack others. Magic is used to help along a situation where normal means are ineffective."

"This is going to turn into a second school, isn't it?" Bulla asked.

"I'm afraid so," laughed Vegeta, "But it's necessary."

Bulla's dragon, curled around her shoulders, squeaked.

"I think he's hungry, dad."

"How do you know it's a he?" Vegeta asked.

"How else? He told me he was a he."

"You have much to learn about children, Vegeta," Goku said, "You walked right into that one."
