“Hey, baby. What’s your name?”
“Marron. What’s yours?”
Krillen paused. Had this beautiful woman actually answered him? He was used to being ignored or at least politely rejected, never getting passed the introduction stage. He wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do next.
“K-Krillen,” he stammered.
“Well, hello, K-Krillen,” Marron giggled. “Would you buy me some ice cream?”
In a fog, Krillen purchased a cone from the street vendor and watched her delicate tongue lick the dessert.
“You’re cute,” she said, patting his bald head.
The next thing Krillen knew, the paramedics were waking him from a dead faint.
