It's been thirteen long years now
Seems second ago
That my dog
rests in heaven now
her love for me was stronger
I wanted her to stay longer
but now her ashes lie
on the kitchen counter
The memories we shared
stay in my mind
to think about the love and joy
she left all behind
She was always there
she didn't have to care
about the pain I was put through
But even though she was scared
I was there for her too
When I open the door now
I expect a growl
or at least a little bark
but I hear nothing
just dead silence
has played the roll on this part
I can still remember
her soft caring face
and when she left
without a trace
She will stay here forever
and do you know why?
cause I saw her that night
She had come to say goodbye
