Fan Fiction ❯ Prince of Darkness ❯ One-Shot

English assignment… We had to write a poem in couplets about a character that faces a moral dilemma. Well, two things came into mind - two things that are somehow linked in my mind. The first thing is vampires, the second… well, I don't know, it may be too hidden. Only like one person in my class caught it. Whatever >.<;; I am proud to say that this may very well be my first rhyming poem that sounds good… wait, the second. The first that portrays what I want it to. Yeah…

Prince of Darkness.

No longer can he feel any pain,

Yet he lives his life in invisible chains.

The weight on his shoulder will never cease,

He waits only for the day he can be released.

It was all different long ago,

When he was but a child aglow,

Barely a young man, just come to fame,

But, eventually, it went unto flames.

In his life, so very lonely and plain,

Came forth a man most profane.

With his fair hair and blue eyes,

He won the young lad over with his glorious lies.

However, to the lad, he could do no wrong -

For once in his life, he felt like he belonged.

The man had a secret or two worth note,

Something not quite right about the man in capote.

He spoke to the boy in his seductive tones,

And finally his true nature was shown.

The man was but a fiend in disguise -

Naught but a demon in lover's guise.

He was but a creature of the night,

A drinker of blood and a prince of fright.

For his knowledge of a secret most sore,

He damned the lad's soul forevermore.

The man left him then, a victim to his whims.

So, the young lad sits lost in his moods so grim,

As he ponders out just what went amiss,

How did it end, where went the bliss?

Of the tender moments past, he had only recollection

Of his times of great affection.

The times were gone, and he was of them,

Those mysterious princes eternally condemned.

But what is it that can end all the torment?

That which he tried to circumvent.

He may not feel any physical hurt,

But it's all there, it why he's always so alert.

To live with the want for blood, the longing and desire,

It cannot be worth it to live a life so dire.

That of a killer who murders in the night,

It cannot be worth it, right?
