Many centuries ago there lived a race known as the Ryoku. They lived in harmony with humans and even looked so much like humans that it was hard to tell the difference. Over time however this race evolved into a warrior race. They grew to be stronger and faster than humans, but they still treated humans like equals. They continued to evolve until one man found that he could draw out his own energy and form it to be used as a destructive weapon. Many even learned to use their energy to fly. By this time humans technology had advanced and they all lived in a world full of hover cars, space ships, and skyscrapers.

 

 

One day in the year 2020, an elite warrior known as Yakunan began to abuse his powers and was exiled. He returned one day however and with a group of followers who overthrew the monarchy and became a ruthless emperor. All of the Ryoku who did not join him were wiped out, until only those who served him and a few others survived. For years the land cowered under his tyrannical rule, and there was even a rebellion, but it was crushed.

Many hoped that someone would have the courage and the might to stand up to the empire, but all who tried met horrible ends. It wasn't until 50 years later however when a hero would finally emerge.
