Chapter 2: A Heart Broken

***Author Note: Yeah, yeah I know the title is kinda sappy and boring
but y'know what I don't care cause no one's probably reading this
anyway so whatever... BLAH, BLAH BLAH.***

"Okay babe well I gotta go to work see ya later. Nice to meet ya
Cloud." Mason said and walked out the door.

"Cloud, I hope you don't mind but, I gotta go shower, so just make
your self at home." She said cheerily. "Can I get you anything before
I go upstairs?"

"Uh no I'm good." he replied with a slight smile. With that Tifa
disappeared into the darkness of the upstairs in the cozy little
house. Cloud gaped around the house. He wondered into a tidily yellow
painted room with a light green couch curiously eyeing all the
pictures. There was on of them on an unknown beach kissing to a
beautiful sunset. Next to that one was framed clipping of all of them
from a magazine, Cid, Vincent, Barret and Cait Sith stood in front of
himself Tifa, and Yuffie. They all looked happy with large smiles
except him, he sat diagonally so you could only see ths of his face
but you could tell he was unhappy. Tifa's head rested on his shoulder
with her arm linked around his. Cloud removed the picture to inspect
it closely.

"That's my favorite picture." came Tifa's voice from behind him. He
turned to see her semi- smiling face. She approached him and looked at
the picture.

"...I don't remember having that picture taken..." he spoke softly.
She looked at him and smiled.

"It was that day when the world was finally safe again. You didn't say
much, you just sat down on the ground and everyone just grouped around
you and there were TV crews asking questions and taking pictures. They
must have a asked you a million questions but you just sat there in
your own little world." she smiled thinking of that day. He set the
picture down. And looked at Tifa as tears of happiness slid down her
cheek. With his hand, Cloud wiped them away.

"I'm sorry, Tif." he said.

"For what?"

"Remember a year and a half ago, you came to visit."

"Yes.... Don't worry about it... It's all in the past." said Tifa not
wanting to relive the day her heart was broken by the man she truly
loved. It had taken so long for that wound to heal. But she was
finally over him, or so she made herself believe. There was an awkward
silence between the two old friends. She looked up into his great blue
mako eyes that still made her melt. They both began to lean into each
other. `What are you doing he broke your heart he doesn't love you, he
loves Aeris.' Tifa pulled away before their lips met. "Um... I have to
go... run errands for the... bar." she stuttered nervously. Hastily,
Tifa left the house leaving Cloud confused and alone.
