The Partner's Rivalry

Moonlight catches in the trees
Wind stir across darkened seas
Cold steel glinting in the night
Rain falls, masking the enemy from sight
Weapons drawn in tense haste
Brutal slashes at a partner's face
Open your eyes, the enemy's near
Who it is may not be quite clear
This rivalry is now very real
With a violent clash of shining steel
Caught off guard, but not disarmed
Beware! The blade that hovers will harm
Painful slashing as blood flows
Now where is there to go?
Blood covered, now with open eyes
You see the one who does despise
Quickly without a second thought
End the battle that was fought
Exchanging blows, add the scar
That brings him to where you are
Wearily now drift away
This battle shall be ended another day
Drop the weapon, close your eyes
As your mind turns to his demise
(A/N: Sorry, but I feel the opening cinema to FF8 deserves recognition, seeing as that I've seen it over twenty times…it's an awesome sequence! Please r/r)
