Vincent: A Story Of One Man's Turn In Life By: Silence
Vincent and a few other characters in this are Property of SquareSoft
I just decided to use them for a story explaining the history of Vincent.
This story begins in Nibelhiem's Shinra Mansion a short while before Sephiroth
comes to town. Vincent walks down the long spiral staircase to his room next to
the lab he'd requested this room because of its locality to the lab for late at
night he would wander into the lab to continue with his experiments. It
was a day of great progress and he had just been out to the mountains to
test his abilities as a swordsman he never was good at it and he had
thought about choosing another way to fight because at this point all
Shinra used him for was his expertise with wild animals and how to control
them to do their bidding. He wanted more he wanted to be able to become a
high ranking fighter maybe good enough that he could practice with Sephiroth
but he knew that at this time his sword skills were nothing and he knew he
could not match the skills of Sephiroth.
Vincent: Hey Hojo you ever get tired of working down here in the lab and
think that you could have a greater purpose for Shinra? I was assigned here because
I failed in the Turks I just couldn't fight as well as the others.
Hojo: Never Vincent for now i am doing all that I can to get on the President's
good side if I ask for more responsibility he may take away some of my work.
Vincent: I see what you mean Hojo but I think if I could just do more like
fight a good fight then maybe just maybe I could get more funding from Shinra
you know that what they give us is barely enough to get by on.
Hojo: Um yes yes yes but Vincent maybe if you did a little experimenting with
larger, fiercer, more dangerous creatures then you maybe able to fight through
them the more you can control and the more effective they are the higher up you'll
go Vincent that is your expertise and you can not give that up.
Vincent: Maybe your right. Well good night Hojo i'm going to bed i'm gonna have to
think about what you say some more then i can decide what to do.
Hojo: Good night i hope you do concider my opinion.
That night Vincent's dreams were filled with his failures on the mountain for
he had almost died twice that day. He had been chased by the monsters before but
this time he had tripped and all he could do was swing wildly at them with his sword.
2 weeks later again atop the mountain.
Vincent: Damn I'm just not any good with swords and this one Tseng gave me this he
called it Ragnarok if i remeber correctly.(A moment of deep thought to himself follows
then he decides to return to the mansion.)
On Vincent's way back he finds a monster he had never seen before and thinking of
what Hojo said he decides to take it back to the lab even though it did seem rather small
when he found it it had jumped at him and had made itself 10 times as big then shrunk
back to its normal size before his feet.
At the mansion he takes the monster down to the lab to study it the lab is empty and
he thinks that the rest must have gone out for a few drinks. He puts the monster into a
large tube and examines it for a while. When he decides he has enough information he needs
till the others get back he reaches his left arm into the tube to take out the monster at
that moment the monster enlarges and bites at his arm and emits a gas that knocks out Vincent
while he is knocked out the monster merges itself into Vincent through his arm then it moves
to his heart and becomes part of Vincent.
When Vincent wakes up he sees Hojo and the others around him.
Hojo: Don't move Vincent we did some tests and found out that your arm was infected by something
unknown and we decided to amputate before it spread you've been asleep for 2 days now and we
knew you couldn't continue without an arm so we forged in a golden arm to replace your arm
we know you will never be the same but i'm sorry to say that you can no longer try to fight
using a sword it you'll just have bad control of it.
Vincent: Hojo i understand that you had to do this but i dont know how good i can fight now with
any weapon.
Random Scientist: Why not experiment with some weapons untill you think you are good with it
maybe this happened to help you, you had always wanted to use swords but were never good at it
now you get a chance to try to fight with some other weapon.
Vincent: I will take that into concideration. For now i will go to my room for a while no one
disturb me i'm going to have to think about all of this. I can't remember a thing that happened
after i left the mountain.
Hojo: Go rest up Vincent we will advise Shinra on your condition.
The next day he has made a choice now and has gone to the mountain.
Vincent: Goodbye Ragnarok for I cannot have any thing to do with you now. (He shoves the sword
into the ground of a small cliffside.) I hope that one day a better warrior shall wield you
maybe if I find this person i can also find my way.
He returns to the mansion and sees Hojo holding a gun and approaches him.
Vincent: Hello Hojo what are you doing with that?
Hojo: Ah hello Vincent when i went to Midgar yesterday to tell the President about what happened
he gave me this saying that you should try this and see how you like it he said he used it in
his younger days before he took over the company.
Vincent: Hmmm I like it seems to be a good weapon I'll try it out tommorrow.
Hojo: The President will be glad that you like it.
Vincent: Well I guess you've worked hard today Hojo I will clean up your experiments go to sleep.
You don't know what will happen tommorrow the team says they are really improving on the Jenova
Project.
Hojo: Yes well see you in the morning.
After Hojo goes back upstairs Vincent starts to clean up the days work. He notices a black
substance in a container which he knew was Jenova cells and yet he couldn't help himself a
look at what they would do to his own blood. He took the container and put some into a tube
he then added his blood to the cells and put a small amount on a slide and examined it. It looked
to react much differently than with the blood of those that had been tested with it. After
dismissing what he had seen to the fact that he had been feeling odd the whole day he removed
the slide and continued cleaning up. A short while later he had decided to look at the slide once
more. This time the cells were more active jumping around and changing shape way too often. He
started to remove the slide when he felt that his hand hit something the container of Jenova
cells had spilled onto his hand where he cut himself to take his blood sample. At that time he
knew he now had become part of the Jenova Project himself. (But what he did not know was that
the monster that he had found which he had no memory of had been in him and had moved his hand
into the container and that the Jenova cells now combined with the monster in his heart.) He
saw that he was done and went to his room and decided not to tell Hojo of what had happened
About a week later again at the mountain to test his new gun for the week he had camped on the mountain.
Vincent: HAHA take that you bastard monster you thought you would beat me again but not this
time HAHAHA.
He had killed several monsters with his new weapon and had grown quite good at his short
experience with it. When he came to a group of monsters near the reactor he shot at one of them
and then the other 6 ran at him and started to attack him fiercely it was then that he transformed
for the first time it was the effect of the Jenova cells and the monster within him that did it
He transformed into a fiery beast during which he had no control over his own actions and the first
thing he had done was unleash a barrage of fire balls at the group of monsters which was more than
enough to take them all out in one blow. When it wore off he collapsed to the groud totally concious
of what had just happened he knew he was now an amazing fighter and that he had to learn how to
control his new found powers and also try to become even more powerful.
Upon his return to town he saw the town ablaze and ran toward the mansion.
There he found Hojo who had only just returned himself for all the scientist had been given leave
because Soldiers were coming to town to investigate the reactor and were staying at the mansion
Hojo he had seen had grown mad at the events in town and turned on Vincent attacking him. Vincent was
so shocked he had no time to react he was knocked out by a swift blow from Hojo. Then Hojo thought
Vincent was dead and put him into his room, locked the door, and put the key into a safe. So his
former friends eternal rest would not be disturbed.
Weeks later Vincent awakes the door is locked and he has no way out he stays in the room and
hopes someone will free him. He remembers Hojo saying something about Sephiroth before he attacked him
but couldn't remember his exact words it was something along the lines of "Sephiroth has done this he
is responsible why would he do such a thing it must have been something to do with Jenova." knowing
that himself also had Jenova cells in him he did not dare to think what would happen to him and
decided that maybe being locked up was for the best and went to sleep.
Years later someone removed the lid to his coffin and had woken him up from his long sleep it was
Cloud and the others who explained to him what they were doing and had a long talk with him about Sephiroth
and what had happened since. Right away he did not belive them and ignored them told them to leave but
after they left he noticed Cloud's sword and he remembered the Ragnarok and knew that if Cloud could fight
with that sword he must be telling the truth and also the fact that his talking of Sephiroth reawakened the
cells inside him and knew he had to stop Sephiroth and since they had freed him he decided to follow them
as long as he could catch up and so he ran out of his room and found them and asked to join and then
Vincent's vital role in FF7 had begun.

the man Vincent correctly others may have a difference from my opinion of this but whatever your opinion is
