Chapter 6: Time to Go!

As Akari and Tamahome were busy packing for the trip to the border. Hotohori was busy pacing in his room.

“What am I going to do? What if the Qu Dong emperor decides to have the priestess killed?” Hotohori asked himself.

Just then there was a knock on Hotohoris' door.

“Who is it?” asked Hotohori

“It's me your highness.” Said the person

“Come in.” said Hotohori

“The horses are ready, your highness.” Said the man

“Thank you. You may leave now.” Said Hotohori

Hotohori resumed his pacing. Mean while in Akari's room, she and Tamahome were arguing.

“Tamahome will you quit taking stuff out of the bags.” Said Akari

“But why do you need to take so much stuff.” Said Tamahome

“Because we are going to be gone for along time and I need clean clothes.” Said Akari

“But why do you need 5 bags full of clothes?” said Tamahome

“Because I don't know when I'll have time to wash clothes.” Said Akari “now will you quit taking clothes out!”

“I will when you quit putting more clothes in it.” Replied Tamahome

“Little twerp, why don't you go pack your stuff.” Said Akari

“I already did.” Replied Tamahome

“Then go bother someone else.” Said Akari

“Fine!” said Tamahome

Tamahome ran out the room and ran to the courtyard. He was hoping to see that guy again. The one who said his name was Chikuri. For some reason he had this odd sense of déjà vu. So Tamahome walked around the court yard and at the end he found what he was looking for.

“Chikuri! Hello.” Said Tamahome

“Well, hello Tamahome.” Chikuri said “are you hiding from Akari?”

“No. Akari is busy packing. So I decided to go for a walk in the courtyard.” Replied Tamahome “Chikuri, can I ask you something?”

“Sure you can.” Said Chikuri

“Well I was wondering, why were you here in the palace courtyard. Do you live in the palace?” asked Tamahome

“I come here to tend to the flowers, and yes I do live in the palace, but I live in a remote part of the palace.” Replied Chikuri.

“You really tend to the flowers?” Asked Tamahome “could you teach me how to care for flowers.”

“Yes I do and sure I can teach you.” said Chikuri “didn't you say you were going on a trip though?”

“Oh yeah. Akari, his majesty, and I are traveling to the border of Hong-Nan.” said Tamahome

“Well how about I teach you when you get back from your trip?” said Chikuri “for now you can help me water the roses, ok?”

“ok.” Said Tamahome

So Tamahome and Chikuri stood side by side and watered the roses. Meanwhile back in Akaris' room, Akari had just finished packing.

“Well, I guess I better go and find Tamahome.” Said Akari

So Akari went to tamahomes' room to see if he was there. When she saw that he wasn't there. She figured he was in the courtyard. After 10 minuets of walking she finally found him, he was watering plants with Chikuri.

“Tamahome, you ready to go.” Asked Akari. “Hello Chikuri, it's very nice to see you again.”

“Hello Akari.” Replied Chikuri “Tamahome here tells me you guys are traveling to the border of Hong Nan.

“Yes we are.” Said Akari “and I believe Hotohori is waiting for us, so Tamahome why don't you go ahead and head back to the palace.”

“ok.” Said Tamahome

So Tamahome headed back up to the palace, leaving Akari and Chikuri all alone.

“I would like to apologize if Tamahome was bothering you and keeping you from your job.” Said Akari

“Please don't apologize. He wasn't bothering me at all. In fact he was a great help.” Said Chikuri

“I want to ask you something.” Said Akari

“Sure what is it you wish to ask me?” Said Chikuri

“What are you to Tamahome?” asked Akari

“What am I to Tamahome? I would hope I am his friend.” Replied Chikuri

“That's not what I meant and you know it Chikuri.” Said Akari

“Well I'm sorry but I can not reveal that just yet.” Said Chikuri “you better go, before his majesty comes looking for you.”

“Good-bye Chikuri.” Said Akari

“Goodbye Akari, have a pleasant trip.” Said Chikuri

And with that Akari headed back up to the palace. She reached the back door just as Hotohori was coming out.

“I'm sorry for being late Hotohori. I was talking with one of your gardeners.” Said Akari

“It's fine Akari. You seem upset, did he do something to you.” asked Hotohori

“No he didn't. I guess I'm just worried about Tamahome. I hope he will be able to handle the long trip.” Said Akari

“Yes. I am worried to. But he seems eager to leave.” He was already on one of the horses when I came to get you.” said Hotohori “speaking of which I guess we should be going.”

“Yes I guess we should.” Said Akari.

And with that they went in the palace and came went out the front. Hotohori helped Akari onto her horse. He then got onto his horse.

“All right are you 2 ready to go?” asked Hotohori

“Yes, let's get this trip going.” Said Tamahome.

“Yeah I'm anxious to get out and explore Hong Nan some more.” Replied Akari

“Well then it's time to go.” Said Hotohori
