Reverie

For so long
I have lived in a false reverie
With no beginning or end
In perpetual motion

I met you and you were someone I knew
You were kind and I loved you dearly
But that was simply a fantasy
That you crashed upon the floor

You took her away from me
The only one who really knew me
Her blood spilled upon your hands and the soft pink petals
And I could not forgive you though I could not hate you

I was left weeping
You took away my heart
You took away my soul
And left me a hollow shell

If I had chased after you
Perhaps it would have been different
But everytime I think of the blood upon your hands
I cannot help but wonder why I love you still

The pain I bear for loving you
Is my curse to the death
And yet I still wish
For the gentle feel of your skin

And so I remain in that past fantasy
Hoping for the return of the you that I knew
But I am simply living in a false reverie
In perpetual motion that I cannot let go
