Billows of steam rose around Wufei as hot water pounded fiercely against his body. Eventually, he turned the nozzle, killing the stream. Silently he pushed the excess water from his skin. Reaching out for a towel, he stepped out of the shower.
He swiped the foggy mirror clean and was greeted by his own reflection. His lips twitched, but not in amusement as he examined his face, his dark eyes, the smooth muscular skin of his torso and limbs. He searched for the scars he knew were there. But his body betrayed nothing.
All his wounds were on the inside.
