“Daddies, don't forget that my school is having family day on Friday.” Juno said as she ate a highly sugared cereal for breakfast.

“We took the day off Juno, we will be there.” Heero said to his sugar high daughter, he eyed her warily, she was bouncing. He knew that the sugar was not the only thing to cause the bouncing; she was most likely very happy about having her Daddies come to her school for Family Day. He almost felt bad for her teachers; she would be even more energetic then normal. But he didn't feel too bad; he and Duo were usually the ones who dealt with her when she was at her most--energetic. He felt that her teachers would most likely quit rather then deal with her as much as he and Duo did.

“Yeah, we told Lady Une that we needed a day off to go to your school and she didn't even argue with us. Though she did make us promise not to bring you to Preventer's headquarters anymore. She seemed to feel that the amount of money that would be needed to fix the building every time that you came would be an enormous sum. I have to say that I agree with her. Also, she did say that Sarge wanted you to come and help with a training simulation, but she still hasn't approved it yet. Lady Une does seem to feel that you would make a good terrorist, though, so I might happen someday.” Duo said amused to Juno.
“Cool,” Juno said grinning. She loved it when others admired her destructive tendencies. Really, it was so much fun to blow things up. She hoped that Lady Une would let her participate; she would have a great deal of fun terrorizing the new recruits. She wouldn't even have to feel bad; she would be proving a valuable service of allowing the recruits to experience what terrorism was like. She grinned evilly making vague plans in the event that it did happen.

Heero glared at Duo, “You are giving her ideas. She has enough as it is.”

“Sorry,” Duo said sheepishly, he hadn't meant to give Juno any ideas. She was quite creative enough to come up with situations to plan for on her own; he didn't need to give her something new to think about. Her plans were something to fear, anyone who knew her would agree.

“Time to go to school Juno, finish up.” Heero said to Juno. The three grabbed there things and headed out the door to the car.

Juno sat at her lunch table staring at her food. She wasn't quite sure what type of meat was on her plate. The lunch lady had said it was “meatloaf surprise,” but Juno wasn't even sure that it was made of meat. It looked wrong, and frankly Juno wouldn't be surprised if the thing got up and walked away. She sat there contemplating whether or not the vegetables where really supposed to be that color when she noticed how quiet Marimea was. Something must be wrong; Marimea was always ready for a fun conversation, be it about hacking or how to take over the world.

“Is something wrong Marimea?” Juno asked worried about her best friend.

“Nothing is wrong Juno. I am fine.” Marimea said trying to sound convincing, it didn't work.

Juno raised her eyebrow. “Yeah, your fine and I am the Easter Bunny. You know how bad it would be if I was the Easter Bunny, I would end up giving all the kids explosives with their chocolate. Their parents would demand a new Easter Bunny and then where would I be.”

Marimea couldn't help but laugh at Juno's random and absurd statement. “You would be terrifying as the Easter Bunny; the only other job that would be worse is if you were Santa Claus. Now that would be scary.”

Juno giggled, “Yeah that would be scary.” She paused for a moment and became serious. “Now, seriously, what's wrong?”

“It's silly. I really shouldn't let it bother me. It's nothing that you need to worry about.” Marimea paused when she saw the look in Juno's eye, she was determined. When Juno got determined she did what she set out to do, no matter what. Marimea sighed and finally decided it was better just to tell Juno instead of being pestered the rest of the day about it.

“It just that Friday is Family Day and Lady Une is unable to come and as you know my birth parents are no longer alive. So I won't have any one with me on Friday. I know it's silly, but I guess I just realized how little family I really have.” Marimea said sadly.

“It is not stupid to want family there, but you're wrong you are not alone. You have me. Besides I don't think me Daddies will mind adopting you for the day, you can sit with us the entire time. Because really aren't friends just our family by choice.” Juno said while smiling at Marimea.

Marimea couldn't help but smile back, Juno's smile was contagious. “You're a good friend Juno. I guess I will take you up on your offer. If nothing else it should make for an interesting day.”

“Good, if you didn't I would have had to pester you until you did.” It was said with a grin, but Marimea knew Juno well enough to know she wasn't' joking.

“Now, we need to lift your spirits a bit. Something fun…oh I know. It has bee a while since we instigated a mass rebellion against the evil cafeteria overlords for their abuse of our taste buds (food fight). It will be fun; you will feel much better after watching the cafeteria in chaos and almost everybody with `meatloaf surprise' on them.” Juno was grinning evil already planning how to start the little “rebellion” without anyone knowing that she started it.

Marimea smile, Juno always did know how to cheer her up. “So how shall we start it today?” Juno and Marimea shared an evil grin and began to plot.

Ten minutes later the cafeteria was in chaos, no one knew who had started it but by the end of the fight almost everyone was involved. Everyone that is except two girls who where sitting under a table grinning at each other in triumph. Those two just sat back and enjoyed the show.

Juno was right, Marimea thought, I do feel much better now.

Friday had finally come and it was now time for Family Day at Juno's School. Poor Hades and Wing had been avoiding Juno like the plague, she was way too energetic for them and they had not wanted to get caught up in any of her schemes, smart animals.

Juno had gotten up obscenely early to get ready for school; she gathered the things she wanted to bring. There was a portion of the day where she would be allowed to show pictures and tell the rest of the class about her family. She looked forward to the shocked faces when they realized her Daddies where Preventers and ex-Gundam pilots. It was going to be so much fun. She had already asked her Daddies if they would “adopt” Marimea for the day and they had agreed. Not that she thought that they would disagree but it never hurts to ask. She grinned at the rising sun; it was going to be a really fun day. Whether or not others agreed with her, well that was their problem, not hers.

Family Day started with the children giving their parents a tour of the school. Juno and Marimea had a great deal of fun telling Heero and Duo all the interesting things they had done in various places. Like how many food fights they instigated in the cafeteria or how many computers they hacked into in the computer lab. The two seemed to have the most fun telling them about the many teachers they had terrorized in various places, in other words, nothing that unusual for Heero and Duo to hear. Heero and Duo had been amused by the commentary; they figured no one else was getting such a detailed tour of the school.

After the tour they went to the auditorium where they sat through various performances by the school chorus and the band. It was a good performance though it was hard for Duo and Marimea to keep straight faces when Juno kept making random and ludicrous comments about things. Heero's face didn't as much as twitch, but he had a great deal of practice at keeping his face impassive. Though when Juno said, “I heard the first flutist took a dare to eat ramen through her nose, and she was even able to do it. She is quite talented,” it had been hard not to laugh. Duo and Marimea weren't as good at keeping a straight face so they ended up laughing softly and getting weird looks from nearby families. Not that they cared, they were odd and reveled in that fact.

After the performance they went to lunch.

“I can see why you're constantly causing food fight if this is what you get to eat, Juno.” Duo said to Juno as he poked at the food on his tray, he was not sure that it was edible and he had a strong stomach, so that was saying a lot. “Heero do you think it is still living? Because I swear I saw it move away form my fork and it would be almost validating if it actually got up and ran away.”

“It seems to be a new form of life; perhaps we should free it in the garbage so that it can run away.” Heero deadpanned. He was also poking the “food” in disgust he was not sure that it was edible, he had eaten many things that would make most people sick and he still did not want to eat this lunch. He would need to discuss this with the Principle or he would just send Juno to school with a packed lunch. At least then he would know whether or not the food was edible.

“Daddy, did you just make a joke?” Juno said surprised. Heero looked over that the three and saw that Duo, Juno, and Marimea were all staring at him like he had just grown two heads. He unconsciously touched his neck just to make sure it hadn't, because really his life was strange and it could happen.

“I guess you two are rubbing off on me,” Heero said amused by their reaction.

Duo and Juno shared a grin and high fived each other. Marimea just sat next to them looking highly amused.

“Next we are going to our homeroom. We get to introduce our families and talk about them. This is going to be so much fun.” Juno grinned evilly as she talked. Heero and Duo just shared a look; they were slightly worried what Juno was planning. Hopefully she would not do any massive damage to the school, but they were not about to hold their breath.

The four settled at their assigned table waiting for everyone to show up so that the next event could begin. The family that was seated next to them seemed nice and normal. The mother was in a blue skirt and a white blouse and the father was wearing a blue three piece suite. With them sat their boy, who like his parents, had blue eyes and blond hair. From what Juno told them about the boy, Charlie, was a nice person, but very quite and shy. Juno decided to talk to them while they waited for the other families to come in.

“Hi Charlie, these are my Daddies that I am always talking about.” Juno said it while pointing unnecessarily at Heero and Duo. She looked at Charlie's parents and introduced herself with a smile. “Hello, I am Juno. I sit next to Charlie in class.”

“Pleasure to meet you Juno, we have heard about you from Charlie.” Charlie's Father said with a broad grin. He turned to Heero and Duo and said, “I am Steve Williams and this is my wife, Silva. It is a pleasure to meet you.”

Heero and Duo shook the man's hand and introduced themselves. “I'm Duo Maxwell and this is Heero Yuy. It is a pleasure to meet you.”

The woman introduced as Silva looked at Marimea for a moment and asked, “Is Marimea your daughter too?”

“No, my birth parents are dead and my Guardian was unable to attend so Juno and her Daddies adopted me for the day. Though, Heero and Duo did know my Father.” Marimea said quietly.

“That was nice of them; Juno must be a good friend.” Silva smiled at Juno.

“Yes, she is,” was Marimea's response, Juno is her best friend after all.

Steve looked at Yuy family and asked, “How did you know Marimea's father?”

Duo looked at the man for a moment and then at Heero who shrugged and nodded his head. “Well, we met Marimea's father during the war. We actually were enemies and spent most of the war trying to kill each other. But he was a respectable enemy I guess.”

“You spend the entire war trying to kill each other and yet you are willing to treat the man's daughter like your own. I find that a bit unusual.” Steve said it a bit confused.

“It's not that weird. I mean, me and Heero are a couple and the first time I met him I shot him-- twice.” Duo said with a shrug as the Williams family stared at him in shock. “Well at the time I thought he was going to kill Releana, had I known what a problem she would turn out to be later I would have just let him shoot her.” Duo looked a bit sheepish when he realized what he had just said.

“…” was about all the response he got from the Williams family, they looked like they where in a bit of shock.

Duo was about to say something else to the family when the teacher called for their attention. It seemed that everything was ready to begin.

“We will start Family Day introductions. This is where all the children in the class will introduce themselves and talk a bit about their families. It will go alphabetically by last name from A to Z. Liz Adams, you are the first one up.” The teacher smiled at the nervous girl as she got up in front of the room.

“Hello, I am Liz my parents are Greta and Will Adams. My father is a firefighter and my mother is…”

Juno waited at her table as she listened to the other children of her class speak. She would be the last one to go; Yuy was the only Y name in the class. She was somewhat bored. Most of the children and Families were very boring to listen about. The parents were: lawyers, Doctors, engineers, firemen, police, computer programmers, etc. All things that Juno would expect from normal people, she was going to make things very interesting when it was her turn.

“Juno Yuy is next. Juno, please come up to the front of the room.” The teacher said with a smile. Poor woman, she and the rest of the class wouldn't know what hit them when Juno was done. She was grinning evilly little all the way up to the front of the class.

“Hello my name is Juno Yuy. My Dad is Heero Yuy, my other Dad Duo Maxwell. Well Duo is my adopted Daddy. Heero is technically my biological dad as far as I can be, since I was genetically engineered by an insane scientist to be the backup perfect weapon. But anyway, Heero is a Preventer and he is also an ex- Gundam pilot during the war. He piloted Wing and then later Wing Zero. He can also bend steel with his bare hands. He can do a demonstration later. Duo is also a Preventer and an ex-Gundam pilot. He was the pilot of Deathscythe. Oh, and both my Daddies helped save the world from being destroyed by a falling ship. A ship that would have killed millions in the initial crash and then it would have kicked up so much dirt into the air that it would have blocked out the sun and killed all life on earth.” Juno paused for a moment taking in the shocked looks she was getting. The people in the room kept looking from her to her Daddies; they seemed to hope that Heero or Duo would contradict her. They wouldn't, she was telling the truth.

She continued, “I also have two pets Wing and Hades. Wing is a cute little cat that likes to use Heero for a cushion. Hades is a stray dog that we rescued off the street after my Daddies scared off a mugger that was stupid enough to try to steel our money. I like criminals, they are fun to blow up, especially the ones that try to break into our house. They really should read the warnings. Anyway, I also brought pictures. They are quite fun. I…” Juno was interrupted by the bell; School was over for the day. Juno pouted she didn't get to say nearly half of what she planned. She wasn't too upset though, Family Day is a yearly thing at her school, and she would just have to do better next year.

The speed at which the other families left the room when the bell rang was quite a sight to behold. Juno had never seen so many people ran away from her so fast. She grinned, Mission Accomplished.

Marimea, Heero and Duo walked up the grinning Juno. “Was that truly necessary?” Duo asked.

“No, but it was fun. I love to shock people, besides that is what they get for making me go last and boring me.” Juno said with a grin.

“Time to go home Juno, say Good night to Marimea, Lady Une will be here to pick her up soon.” Heero told his daughter.

“Actually, Daddy can Marimea sleep over tonight?” Juno asked giving Heero the tearful chibi look. Juno knew how effective it was against her Daddies and she used it shamelessly.

Duo and Heero shared a look. “It is fine with us. Marimea, please call Une and let her know that you will be staying the night.” Duo said it as he handed her a cell phone.

Marimea called and Une gave her permission to stay the night. The four headed to the car and went home.

The night had been very fun, they had eaten popcorn and ice cram and they had watched several fun movies with a lot of explosions (Juno's favorites). They were now lying in Juno's bed trying and failing to go to sleep. After sunset a thunder storm had come in, it was noisy and the loud rumblings of the thunder and clashes of lightening kept the two girls up.

“I don't like thunder storms very much,” Marimea confessed embarrassed.

“Me too,” Juno said. “But I know what to do when I can't sleep because I am afraid of the storm. Follow me. ” Juno pulled the older girl out of the bed and dragged her down the hallway toward another bedroom.

“Where are we going?” Marimea asked as she was dragged along.

“To a safe place,” was all Juno would say.

Juno walked up her Daddies room and pulled open the door. If she was scared she would just sleep next to her Daddies and she would feel safe. Juno grinned when she noticed that Wing and Hades were sleeping on Heero, Wing on his stomach and Hades on his feet. Heero must have heard them come in because he woke up and asked, “Juno do you need something?”

“Can Marimea and I sleep with you tonight? We are afraid of the storm.” Juno asked as she dragged Marimea with her over to the bed.

Heero looked at the two girls then at the two animals and shrugged. “Fine, but if you two don't go to sleep you will leave.”

“We understand,” Marimea and Juno said together. The two settled between Heero and Duo. Feeling safe and secure they quickly fell asleep.

Heero stared at his odd family with a small, but true, smile on his face. He laid back down and soon fell asleep. For the moment all was right in his world.

A large man shaped figure was outlined on the ground by a street light as it stood outside in the storm. A loud and horrible laughter could be heard as it walked away. “Soon Juno, I will take back what I created…all of it.”
