Chapter one: pretty pink hat

-last time- "That's a good boy!" Kagome said in a mock baby voice, "see you in an hour" and with that she swung her legs over the side of the well and jumped in before InuYasha could protest.

Sunlight shown through the trees in feudal Japan as a raven haired girl climbed out from a well and for once nothing was on her back.

"InuYasha!" Kagome called "I'm back…!"

"I know ya are so don't scream it to the world!" the hanyou said jumping down in front of Kagome rubbing his sensitive ears.

"oh, sorry" Kagome said halfheartedly, "but you're ready to go now right?"

"You're asking if I'm ready? I've been waiting for an hour woman!" InuYasha snapped

"oh you poor thing" Kagome said with false sympathy. "Let's just go before I change my mind about this completely okay?"

"Feh, Whatever"

-on the other side of the well

"Follow me InuYasha I have a surprise to show you!" Kagome said gleefully

They walked around to the other side of the shrine and stood in front of what seemed like a huge box with a metal barrier.

"What is that thing Kagome?" InuYasha demanded

"It's a garage, it…..well how do I put this………..ok, you store stuff in the there until you're ready to use it. And this is where I stored the surprise!" and with that Kagome reached into her pocket and withdrew a small plastic rectangle with a button in the center. Kagome pointed the rectangle at the garage and pushed the button in.

InuYasha nearly wet himself as a loud and I mean LOUD, rumbling sound emitted from the garage as the metal barrier slowly lifted off the ground and folding up into the ceiling revealing mounds of junk piled in the corners of the garage and a very musty scent covered every thing along with dust as if it hadn't been touched in a long time, everything that is except for the red thingy in the middle of it all.

"What is that thing Kagome?" InuYasha asked curiously pointing at the red thing in the center of the garage.

"It's the surprise InuYasha! Isn't it gorgeous" Kagome squealed with joy.

"Sure just tell me what it is!" InuYasha growled loosing patience.

"Ok InuYasha, it's a car, cars are what we use for transportation in this era. You have to be a certain age to drive a car though and I've just turned that age! For my birthday my okaa-san and jii-san got me this! It's called a Ferrari and it's a really really fast car and a really really expensive one and that means if I find one scratch mark on it your back is going to be really really sore for a really really long time, got it!" Kagome said eying his claws threateningly.

InuYasha gulped, "g-got it, but one question first…"

"hmmm?" Kagome replied.

"How come you never brought this through the well with you?" he said quizzically.

Kagome just starred at him with concern for a moment before turning around closing the garage and walking back into her house.

"Hey! I'm taking to you!" InuYasha yelled and ran after Kagome following her into the house.

-in Kagome's room

"Where is it! Where is it!" Kagome cried.

InuYasha watched in interest as Kagome threw stuff out of her closet looking for the hat that he always wore when he went to the store with her.

"It's got to be here somewhere!" Kagome said exasperated.

Suddenly InuYasha saw Kagome's kid brother Sota walk by the room with a bag of chips in his hand and a………green hat on his head! (I think the hat is green…..maybe it's red…)

InuYasha quickly jumped off the bed and walked up behind Sota and quickly snatched the chips out of his hands and ran back to Kagome's room before he could turn around.

InuYasha sat back down on Kagome's bed munching on the salty chips watching her get more frustrated by the second.

"oh well, this will have to do" she sighed and walked over to InuYasha.

"Here put this on your head InuYasha" she said handing him the hat.

"What! Hell no! it's pink and it has a weird girl on it who's smiling to much and her name is bar-….bie!" he said a confused look on his face.

"Yeah well that's the only thing I have to give you so you're going to have to wear it" Kagome snapped at him.

"Whatever." he replied not wanting to get sat over a hat. (hehe that rhymed!)

-downstairs

"Mom we're leaving!" Kagome called out.

"Ok honey drive safely" Her mother called back peering out of the kitchen.

"Oh my" she said when she saw InuYasha. She started laughing but stopped immediately when he glanced her way.

"Um, InuYasha dear, come with me please" she said and walked out of the kitchen and into her bedroom. She opened her closet and took out a navy blue hat with a green dragon on it. "Here, I want you to have this it was my late husband's hat so it should fit you pretty well."

"Thanks but no thanks" he said "This hat ain't half bad actually"

Kagome's mother just stared at him in awe before nodding and leaving the room. InuYasha followed her back out to the front door where Kagome was waiting patiently.

"What was that all about she asked her mother?"

"Oh, I offered InuYasha a new hat but he refused"

Kagome just starred at her mother then InuYaha then her mother then InuYasha again. Finally she walked over to InuYasha and placed a hand on his forehead and to her surprise his head felt perfectly normal.

"What are you doin?" InuYasha said swatting her hand away.

"Nothing lets just go already!" she said and walked hurriedly outside to the garage and opened it.

"C'mon InuYasha, we don't have all day you know!" Kagome yelled opening the door of the car and climbing in.

InuYasha slowly crept over to the red vehicle in the garage hoping that the garage wouldn't roar anymore and scare him shitless.

He hopped in the car unaware that the garage was nothing compared to the red speed demon he was sitting in, that is until Kagome put the key in the ignition and stared the car up.
