From the present into the past Kagome Higurashi is a 15- year-old schoolgirl living at a history-filled Japanese shrine. After a chance fall into an abandoned well, Kagome meets the well named "dog demon" Inuyasha, a half-human hybrid who longs to become all-demon. Can Kagome bring him to heel before he starts sharpening his claws--- on her? And stop their enemy's return? Find out in "A PAST FORGOTTEN."

One hundred-thousand years ago, in the whirlpool of Kyoto violence that began with Perry? Lanofteng in Japan, there was a Hanyou warrior named Inuyasha. This Hanyou, who paved the way for the new Meiji era with these bloody battles, disappeared at the conclusion of the bloodshed. With the passage of time he became a legend, known simply as " the strongest." And so our story begins, in a small village south of want as to become Tokyo, in the year 1770. One year since Inuyasha destroyed Naraku.

Chapter 1: The Hanyou returns

It's one year later after Inuyasha defeated Naraku. Its a cool summer's morning in the dawn as the sun rises over Kikyo's village. Inuyasha eating raman then that was made the night before, it was strong and bitter; for Kagome had made it, and Kagome wasn't nearly ascompetent in the kitchen as she was in finofteng jewel shards. From beneath lowered lids he watched his guest sip his tea.

(Inuyasha puts his remen bowl down and asks: So why are you here Miroku?(Thinking): And how are you?

Miroku: Inuyasha you know why I'm here.

Inuyasha: Keh, do I Miroku.

Miroku: Yes, Inuyasha Naraku he's back.

Inuyasha: Naraku? But I killed him.

Miroku: I thought that too until last night Inuyasha.

Inuyasha: Keh, Miroku why ask me and not Sango to help you.

Miroku: HER, she's at home.

Inuyasha: And why Miroku!

Miroku: Because she's taking care of Shippo and Kirara.

Inuyasha: Oh (Dryly) Yeah.

Miroku: And Inuyasha, where's Kagome?

Inuyasha: She's looking for Kouji at Kouga's cave.

Miroku: And why there Inuyasha?

Inuyasha: Feh, to talk with Kouga of course.

Miroku: Wai hai.

Miroku: You mean to fight him right?

Inuyasha: Maybe, but I don't know her to do that outoften Miroku.

Miroku: Wai I guess your right about her Inuyasha.

[At Kouga's cave]

Kagome: Where can he be?

(Kagome walks into Kouga's cave)

So he's not here well okay I might as well look around.

(Just then Kouga enters)

Kouga (thinking): I smell inukkoro.

Kagome sees Kouga and tries to hied behind a rock but Kouga finds her

Kouga: Ah Konnichiwa Kagome-chan.

Kagome: Wai hi to you, now where's my son?

Kouga: Your son? Kagome-chan.

Kagome (shouting): KOUJI! Where is he Kouga-san?

Kouga: Kouji, ano why would he be here?

Kagome: Kouji, where is he, yaze ookami?

(Kagome pulls out her bow and arrows)

Kouga: Wo, hold on there Kagome-chan he's not here at all.

Kagome: Feh, Okay I'll go but if I find you did kidnapp him I'll send Inuyasha after you.

(Kagome walks out of the cave and heads back home, half way there she gets jumped)

Masked man: Now then if you please your yen mis.

Kagome: No chance of that happening. (Kagome draws her bow), you'll have to fight me.

Man: No way, you're crazy lady.

(Kagome puts her bow away)

Kagome (thinking): I still have to find Kouji. [Kagome turns around and gets tapped on the back]

Kouji: Konnichiwa haha- (mom).

Kagome: Kouji? [Kagome blinks] -- wai hi Kouji.

Kouji: So where's Chichi- (dad) at huh?

Kagome: At home-- Kouji.

Kouji: Okay Haha- (mom) lets go home then.

(Kouji and Kagome return home an hour later)

Kouji: Hey Chichi- (dad).

(Inuyasha and Miroku are walking out of the house as Kouji and Kagome are walking up)

Inuyasha: Kagome you found him? So Kouji where have you been?

Kouji: I wont for a walk around the forest.

Inuyasha: Okay.

Kagome: Inuyasha koishii is it true, is he back?

Inuyasha: Its true Kagome he's back.

Kouji: But how Chichi- (dad)? Haha- (mom) said you killed him.

Inuyasha: I did with the Tetsusaiga.

Kouji: Then how?

Miroku: Maybe he lived after that final attack Inuyasha.

Inuyasha: Nah, I doubt that Miroku.

Kagome: Maybe its some half-rate youkai using his name.

Inuyasha: Yeah right as if some half-rate youkai would do that.

Miroku: I hope your right Inuyasha.

Inuyasha: So Kouji where did you go any ways?

Kouji: To Kaede's village.

Kagome: THE VILLAGE!?! Kouji!?!

Kouji: Hai I did-- is that bad Chichi-(Dad), Haha- (mom)?

Inuyasha: Hai and lie Kouji, did any one see you?

Kouji: Iie Chichi-(Dad).

Kagome: Ohayo Kouji-kun.

Miroku: And our problem with Naraku, Inuyasha?

Inuyasha: Hmm, I don't know right now Miroku we'll talk tomorrow.

Miroku: Tomorrow then Inuyasha.

(The next day, Miroku returns)

Miroku: Inuyasha? Uh Inuyasha.

(Inuyasha is lying in bed up against Kagome's chest)

Inuyasha: Hmm? No leave me alone Miroku I'm trying to sleep.

Miroku: But Inuyasha its morning and we do need to talk about Naraku's return you know.

Inuyasha: Oh, it is?

(Inuyasha tries to get out of bed, but Kagome stops him)

Kagome: You forget something koishii?

Inuyasha: Aa wai. (Inuyasha kisses Kagome)

Kagome: Domo arigato Inuyasha.

Inuyasha: Your welcome Kagome.

(Inuyasha and Miroku talk about Naraku's return)

Miroku: So we're going to check out Naraku's cave then Inuyasha?

Inuyasha: That the plan Miroku.

Kagome (with a come out of nowhere question): Inuyasha, if he is back -- what are you going to do?

Inuyasha: Yeah? What I am going to do Kagome, You know I'm going to send him back to where he came from of course.

Kagome: Oh Inuyasha please promise me you'll come back.

Inuyasha: You know I will Kagome.

Kagome: Inuyasha--

Miroku: Lets go Inuyasha.

Inuyasha: Yeah coming Miroku.

[Hours later]

(Later Kagome is lying in bed alone, suddenly her door opens)

Inuyasha: Kagome? Are you awake?

(Kagome doesn't speak for an moment, then she asks: Yes Inuyasha I'm awake what is it koishii?

Inuyasha: Can we talk Kagome?

Kagome: Of course Inuyasha.

Inuyasha: Well (pauses) Kagome about Naraku-- I don't think I can defeat him again.

(Kagome gasps): But Inuyasha you must (pauses) I mean you can Inuyasha; don't doubt yourself because of that mishap Inuyasha please after all this is over, come back home and (pauses) and me Inuyasha please, Inuyasha promise that you will .

Inuyasha holds her hands and says: I always do Kagome.

(Kagome nodes): Yeah you do my koibito.

(The next day in modern day Tokyo, Kagome is shopping in the market and later enters the Akabeko)

Hojo: Konnichiwa Higurashi I see your husband isn't here did he leave you?

Kagome: HOJO, Its Ginsenshi, GIN--SEN--SHI got it and Inuyasha didn't leave me he's shopping somewhere else.

Hojo: So Inuyasha isn't here? Why don't you come with me Ginsenshi?

[Inuyasha enters the Akabeko]

(Inuyasha grasping Hojo's hand): Hands off her Hodo jerk, She's my ma-- my wife.

Kagome: Inuyasha?

[Then Hojo goes after Inuyasha with one of Naraku's moves]

Inuyasha: Naraku?

Hojo in Naraku's voice: Yes its me Inuyasha, Naraku or at lasted my reborn self.

Inuyasha: NARAKU?!

Naraku: Oh shut up with the hero act already and fight me Inuyasha.

Inuyasha: Fine Naraku lets finish this here and now. [Inuyasha and Naraku look at each other for a moment, then Inuyasha asks: Ready?

Naraku: Yeah, I'm ready Inuyasha.

Inuyasha: Good, BLADES OF BLOOD!

[Inuyasha moves lighting fast and with one strike Naraku falls]

Naraku: Huh, NO!

Inuyasha in full demon form: Grrr, NOW GO BEFORE I KILL YOU!

Naraku: No, I will win Inuyasha one way or the other.

Inuyasha: Yeah right.

Naraku: Oh Inuyasha?

[Naraku pulls out a dagger and stabs Inuyasha]: Ha your fool Inuyasha to not see that coming.

Inuyasha: DAMN IT!

Kagome: INUYASHA!!

(Later back at Kagome's house): Haha- (mom) is he going to be Okay?

Ms. Higurashi: I don't know Kagome he's bleeofteng a lot within and he's been stabbed in or maybe near the heart.

Kagome looking at Inuyasha: No-- you can't leave me Inuyasha.

(Miroku and Sango enter the room)

Miroku and Sango (questionably): Is he going to be Okay Kagome?

Kagome: We don't know, but please kami help us through this. (Kagome cries herself to sleep that night, The next day when she awakes Inuyasha is looking at her): Hey Koishii you been crying?

Kagome (crying out): INUYASHA! You're Okay thank god.

Inuyasha: Yeah, but my head hurts Kagome why?

Kagome: Because you got in a fight against Naraku.

Inuyasha: Oh? I did gomen ne.

Kagome: No need to say sorry, I'm just happy your Okay Inuyasha.

[Kagome hugs him sweetly and lovely]

Inuyasha: Maybe I should get hurt more off often.

Kagome: You do and I'll say the word `s' until your back goes out for good.

Inuyasha: Fine, I wasn't going to any way though, Just stay with me Kagome.

Kagome: Always, Inuyasha.

[Inuyasha gets out of bed and walks around]

[Enter Ms. Higurashi]

"Inuyasha you get back to bed!"

Inuyasha: I feel fine though.

Ms. Higurashi: I said, "Back to bed."

[Kagome grabs Inuyasha by the ear and dashes him back to the bed and leaves]

Inuyasha (thinking): Keh...

Naraku's voice: Yes Inuyasha be happy why you can for soon it will end. (Laughing evilly) VERY SOON GINSENSHI I WILL HAVE KAGOME AS MY OWN.

Chapter 2: Inuyasha's wake up call

[Inuyasha awakes suddenly and breathing heavily he says in a low voice: Naraku?

(Later that morning)

Inuyasha (thinking): Was that Naraku I heard last night?

[Enter Kagome]

Kagome: Inuyasha? Are you Okay Inuyasha, Inuyasha?

Inuyasha: Huh? Yes Kagome I'm Okay why do you ask?

Kagome: Well-- you looked days Inuyasha so I asked.

Inuyasha: Oh, did I, sorry Kagome.

Kagome: That's Okay Inuyasha you can make it up by coming shopping with me.

Inuyasha: Keh, -- Okay Kagome.

[At the market]

Kagome (Quitly said): Okay Inuyasha grab some of this, that oh and some of that too.

(A hour later)

Inuyasha: Hey, Kagome do we really need all this stuff?

Kagome: Yes Inuyasha we do, now help me get it all home.

Inuyasha: Yes Kagome. (Halfway back to the shrine Kagome gets kidnapped)

Inuyasha: NO Kagome!

(Later at the Shrine)

Sango: Good your back Inuyasha I have a arrow message for you.

Inuyasha: From who Sango?

Sango: I don't know Inuyasha read it so we can find out.

(Sango hands the message to Inuyasha)

Chapter 3: The Message

(Inuyasha reads the Message as followed:

Dear: Inuyasha

I have your wife if you ever want to see her again come to the train stayshin in Kyoto.

P.S.:

If you don't you'll never see this miko again Ginsenshi so come to the train stayshin in Kyoto. I'll be waiting for you half breed.

Chapter 4: The challenge from the past

(Inuyasha runs out of the shrine)

Kouji: Hunh, Chichi- (dad) what's wrong?

Miroku and Sango: It's your Haha- (mom) she's been kidnapped.

Kouji: KIDNAPPED? NO HAHA- (MOM).

Miroku: Kouji lets go help your Chichi-(Dad), I have a feeling he's going to need it.

(Hours later in Kyoto's train stayshin)

Inuyasha (shouting): NARAKU! Come out I'm here now, and release KAGOME!

Naraku stanofteng on a roof: You have to defeat me first Ginsenshi.

Inuyasha: FINE, I will Naraku!

Naraku (Thinking): Yes stay there so I may kill you that much easier Ginsenshi.

Inuyasha (thinking): What's he waiting for any ways just attack me already! [Naraku goes for Inuyasha, Inuyasha blocks then Naraku stabs at him and hits him in his right hand]

Inuyasha: DAMN you Naraku!

Naraku: A fool to fall for that 2 times Inuyasha and you'll have no hope for defeating me as you are only half of a youkai, Only a full youkai has a hope of defeating me.

Inuyasha: Yeah right, I don't need to be a full Inu-youkai to defeat you Naraku.

Naraku: Oh, but you will to save her and defeat me Inuyasha.

[Naraku points to Kagome hanging over a cliff]

Inuyasha: AWE?!, no Kagome, let her go you jerk!

Naraku: NO, half-breed I think not, only if you defeat me.

Inuyasha: FINE, DIE NARAKU!!!!!!!!!

[Naraku side steps]

"Fool, attacking without a plan you'll never save KAGOME."

Inuyasha: I--- I ---- I HAVE TOO, Because I love her!

(Kagome awakes at hearing Inuyasha say that)

"I love you to Inu no niichan and that's why you can defeat Naraku."

(Miroku and Kouji appear in Kyoto's main street)

Kouji: Miroku-san why does my Chichi-(Dad) sound so weak?

Miroku: He's tired somehow from fighting Hojo with Naraku's powers.

Kouji: But he hasn't really been fighting much though.

Miroku: Yoi, yes, maybe so but blocking Hojo's attacks must have tired him.

Inuyasha (thinking): Awe, I have a plan. [Inuyasha sheaths the Tetsusaiga]

Kouji: Huh, why's my Chichi- (dad) sheathing Tetsusaiga?

Miroku: He has a plan Kouji just shinjiteru (believe) in him.

Kouji: But, he's not using Tetsusaiga what kind of plan can he have?

Miroku: A risky one Kouji that may end his life.

Kouji: How risky Miroku-san?

Miroku: It involves him using all of his furyoku energy and his life energy as well to power it and if he does it wrong---he'll die.

Kouji (yelling): Iie, no, Chichi- (dad) don't do it please, please, otou-cha-CHAN!

Kagome (yelling from over the chliff): NO, Inuyasha d-don't do it Iie, no, please, please!

(Inuyasha concentrates his furyoku)

"I have to Kouji, Kagome for you to be safe I can not live,----- S-- Sayonara my koishiis."

(All is covered in a bright flash of silvery white light, The dust blows away after an hour)

Inuyasha's body is not seen anywhere. But Naraku's lifeless body is found and burned in honor of "Inuyasha Shiroikiba Ginsenshi"

Chapter 5: New life in the feudal era

(Modern day Tokyo, 2000)

(Kagome walks into the house)

Ms. Higurashi: Oh, hi Kagome home so soon?

Kagome: Haha- (mom) he's gone!

Ms. Higurashi: Who Kagome?

Kagome (crying): Inuyasha, he's dead.

Ms. Higurashi: Kagome come with me to the kitchen please.

(Kagome follows her Haha- (mom) to the kitchen, there sitting is a silver haired Hanyou in red fire rat clothes)

Kagome: Inuyasha? Is it you?

(The silver haired Hanyou looks at Kagome and smiles: Hi Koishii.

Kagome: How, Inuyasha you're alive--

(Inuyasha places a finger to her lips)

"Kagome, later now lets eat something."

Kagome: Hmm, Okay Inuyasha.

(Kouji, Miroku and Sango walk in the kitchen and sees Inuyasha)

Everyone: Inuyasha, Chichi- (dad)?

(Inuyasha gets up and hugs Kouji and everyone else)

Miroku and Sango: Inuyasha?

Kouji: Chichi- (dad)?

Chapter 6: The renewed vows and the wedofteng plans?

Kagome: Inuyasha, How did you-- I mean--- how did you get here to my time?

(Inuyasha looks at her): That Hojo jerk thew me and I landed in the well.

Kagome (mad): HOJO----

(Inuyasha places his hands on Kagome shoulders): Just calm down Kagome its Okay I'm steal alive aren't I?

Kagome: Yes you are and that's all that matters.

(Later that night Inuyasha is outside on the pouch looking up into the sky thinking of the past three years): All this happen because of Naraku, Kikyo dying her sealing me to the Goshimboku Tree and 50 years later I find my true love in Higurashi Kagome.

(Enter Kagome and Kouji): "Inuyasha are you Okay?" (Inuyasha pulls her closer and hugs and kisses her)

Kagome: Inuyasha please, Kouji's watching.

Inuyasha: So? He'll be married someday to so he needs to know how to love his koibito right.

Kagome: SIT BOY!

Kouji: Chichi- (dad) you Okay?

Inuyasha: Kouji here's a lesson for you; don't ever marry a woman who can sit you.

Kouji: Right Chichi- (dad).

Kagome: Kouji that's a lie your Chichi-(Dad) loves when I do that in--uh-- never mind that Kouji bed time.

Kouji: In where Haha- (mom)?

Inuyasha: I'll tell you when you're older Kouji now get to bed.

Kouji: Oh Okay oyasumi nasai Chichi- (dad), Haha- (mom).

Inuyasha and Kagome: Oyasumi nasai Kouji-kun.

(Inuyasha and Kagome takes Kouji to bed and tells him a bed time story and Kouji falls asleep next to his Chichi- (dad) and Haha- (mom).

"Oyasumi nasai tori no ten." Inuyasha and Kagome say to their son.

(Inuyasha and Kagome head for their room): I'm gonna take a shower Inuyasha."

Inuyasha: I'll join you Kagome.

[Later after Inuyasha and Kagome finish their shower and they fall asleep watching the TV]

Around 12:00pm Inuyasha awakes on the couch: "Huh? Kagome where are you?"

Inuyasha walks around the house trying to find Kagome)

"Damn, where can she be at?"

Inuyasha finally looks in the bathroom and he finds Kagome.

Inuyasha: Daijobu Kagome ka(?).

Kagome: No, I feel sick Inuyasha.

Inuyasha: Sick, we're going to the hospital.

(Later at the Tokyo Hospital)

Inuyasha: Hey, Ms. can you help me I think my wife is sick.

Nurse: Of course sir, please have a seat and will check her out.

Inuyasha: domo arigato Ms.

Nurse: Your will come sir.

(In the doctor's office)

the doctor: Will Ms. Ginsenshi I have good news and bad news 1st: You have a cold, And 2nd: Your going to have a baby.

Kagome: Oh, a baby, Inuyasha will be so happy and Kouji will be a big brother too hmm how nice.

(Later outside the doctor's office)

Kagome (Shyly voiced): Inuyasha, we're having another baby.

Inuyasha: Another --what? A baby Kagome?

Kagome: Uh-huh, And Kouji your going to be a big brother.

Kouji: Me?, Haha- (mom), a big brother wow.

Miroku slapping Inuyasha on the back: Good luck, with the kid Inuyasha.

Sango: Miroku, I think we're going to be parents to.

Miroku: Parents, Sango?

Sango: Yup.

Miroku (thinking): I should ask her now, she's happy. (Aloud): Sango will you marry me?

(Sango gasps): Miroku, did you just ask me to marry you?

Miroku (in a low voice): I did.

Sango: Then the answer is; YES MIROKU I'll MARRY YOU!

Miroku: Well, that was easy to ask.

Inuyasha: So our little monk is going to marry Sango how nice.

Miroku: Oh shut up dog boy.

(Three weeks later at Miroku's and Sango's wedofteng and Inuyasha's and Kagome's renewing of their vows)

Kaede: Do ye Tajiru Sango take Miroku as your lawfully wedded husband? And Higurashi Kagome do ye take Ginsenshi Inuyasha as you're lawfully wedded husband?

Sango: I do.

Kagome: I do.

Kaede: And do ye Tearu Miroku take Sango as your lawfully wedded wife? And do ye Ginsenshi Inuyasha take Higurashi Kagome as your lawfully wedded wife?

Miroku: I do. (Miroku gazes at Sango for a moment and kisses her deeply and lovingly)

Inuyasha: I do. (Inuyasha gazes for a sec, then kisses Kagome's sweet lips)

Kaede: Then I now pronounce you Husband and Wife eer Husbands and Wives .

Kouji:Yay Chichi- (dad), Haha- (mom).

(9 months later Kagome gives birth to her 2nd child a baby girl that is named: Yuki. And Sango also gives birth to her first child a baby boy named: Kai.

Chapter 7: Toward a New Age

(The prosperous- looking Sunrise dojo/Shrine. Kouji enters the front gate)

Kouji: Acting master Ginsenshi, Kouji coming in ....

(A little girl, the spitting image of Kagome , is sitting on the roof bawling her eyes out)

Kouji: Not again, Yuki. You climb up and get too scared to climb down?

(He hooks his sword on the back of Yuki's robe and swings her down. Yuki goes limp, relieved.)

Yuki: Domo arigato Kouji.

Kouji: You may look like Haha- (mom), but you're really just a little idiot .... I don't know how you're going to carry on the dojo and shrine---

(Kagome pegs him with a shoe)

Kagome: Hey! Quit picking on your little sister, or I'll really get mad.

Kouji [swing Yuki around to their Haha- (mom)]: Who's picking on her? I saved her.

[Yuki giggles and holds out her arms to be picked up--- she loves her Haha- (mom).]

Kagome: Oh, so you did. (Taking Yuki in her arms) Were you scared? I'm so sorry.

Kouji (angry): You should be apologizing to me Haha- (mom).

Inuyasha: Kouji. I'm sorry to call you out here in this heat.

Kouji: Chichi- (dad).

Inside the Dojo/Shrine. The wall bears number of students' nameplates; Kagome and Inuyasha are listed as the masters, Kouji and Keyro tearu as assistant masters, Shinichi Kozaburo and Higashidani as students...

Kouji: What is it? If you want to arrange for outside practice at a new dojo I could--

(Inuyasha puts his hand on the Tetsusaiga.)

Inuyasha: Take your stance, Kouji. A one-point match. All right?

(Kouji looks startled. Kagome steps forward.)

Kagome: Kouji. Have you forgotten what day it is today? Today is your birthday. You've heard, haven't you, that warriors long ago were recognized as men when they became fifteen...

(Kouji remembers something Miroku telling him, "Its called genpuku. It's what you're aiming for as a swordsman. Remenber that.")

Kouji (thinking): So that's it. Chichi- (dad) is testing me to see if I've truly become a man ....But.... Those instincts! That presence! Even if he hardly ever uses the Inu-mitsurugi ryuu anymore, he's the greatest living swordsman there is, a true legend ....

Inuyasha (as if sensing his thoughts): Don't be afraid. You've resolved to follow the path of the sword. Remember all the battles of your life. The battles you've seen with your eyes. The battle you heard with your ears... The battles you embraced with your own skill... And all the battles you carry within you. If you concentrate all your strength behind that one blow, it will be enough.

Kouji is suddenly strike by all the warriors, all fighting for their own reasons, that he's seen over the years. He takes his stance.)

Inuyasha: It will be enough. Kagome?

(Still holofteng Yuki, Kagome steps forward with one arm raised.)

Kagome (letting it drop): Begin!

(Inuyasha and Kouji charge at each other, both striking.)

Kagome: A ... a draw?

(Inuyasha's Tetsusaiga has hit Kouji in the side, but Kouji's Tetseniga caught him on the shoulder. Then Kouji's Tetseniga drops and he falls to his knees with the force of the blow.)

Kouji: Heh heh... guess I couldn't measure up. Huh Chichi- (dad)?

Inuyasha: Hmm. But it was a good blow. Can you stand Kouji?

Kouji: Yeah, I guess so.
