The Dark Avenger
Chapter 1
A young child runs across a white sandy beach. He his long brown hair gets in his eyes as he runs after
the foot prints in the sand left behind by his older brother. As he climbed the sand dune that stood ten
feet tall, the young boy hoped to find his brother before anything happened.

Just as he climbed over the peak of the dune, the young boy stopped in his tracks. Standing
what seemed like a mile away was his brother fighting against a man clocked in a dark coat, his hood
covering his face so no one could see his identity. Sitting down in the sand, the boy watched as his older
brother fought this clocked figure.

Swinging and jumping around, the clash of the figures Keyblades coming together sounded like a
miniature explosion was set off. The brother of the younger child twirled his blade around, creating a
gust of wind to pick up sand and create a vortex that absorbed the hooded figure. The older man smiled
at the thought of having defeated his foe and let the weapon disappear from his hand, the vortex having
moved far away from the beach where the fight had just taken place.

The older brother brushed the bangs out of his eyes and looking up saw his younger brother.
Waving, he began to walk towards his brother to take him home. The young boy joyous at the site of his
brother's victory began running towards him in excitement. As the two became closer to one another
the ground began to shake. Stopping in their paths, both the man and child looked at each other in fear.
The child looking directly at his older brother began screaming for him to run; unfortunately he was too
late to save his brother in time. The clocked figure had risen from the sand and brought his blade at a
downward angle ripping through the chest of the older man. His eyes went wide with shock as he felt
the keyblade tear through his major organs; he could feel blood flowing from his mouth and the wound
which was still being held together by the blade.

Watching in fear and feeling helpless, the younger brother watched in shock as his sibling was
thrown to the side of like a rag doll. Running after him with tears streaming down his face the boy felt
mixed emotions about what was happening. He could feel rage and anger rise up inside him; he wanted
to burst and obliterate the figure that did this to him.

Arriving at where his brother lay, the child collapsed over the body and began to cry. The
cloaked figure watched from afar as the child attempted to bring back his brother. Feeling nothing the
figure opened a portal and began to step in, but was knocked down by a strong force from his side.
Feeling dazed, the figure looked up to see what had hit him, only the black blade of Oblivion could be
seen in front of the portal where he had once stood and beyond that the little child who had thrown it.

Getting up the figure moved towards Oblivion, but as he reached out for it, the keyblade
vanished and returned to the child's empty right hand, in his left was the blade Oathkeeper The
hooded figure closed the portal and holding up his right hand the Sleeping Lion appeared. Taking up a

fighting stance the cloaked figure prepared for the next fight. The child just stood there waiting for
something to happen, he looked sullen. A seagull flew passed the two fighters and the fight began.

Jumping in the air the hooded figure vanished into the sky, the child looking up at the sky didn't
realize that the figure had landed behind him. Making his shadow fall over the child, the figure watched
as the fear on the child's face became evident. Jumping away from the figure the child stumbled and fell
face first into the sand. Getting it in his eyes the kid began screaming and swinging the two keyblades
around him. The cloaked figure watched as the kid moved right by him. Shaking his head in downright
shame of this unworthy adversary, he walked up behind him and kicked the child from behind knocking
him out.

I awoke in a cold sweat on the hottest day in March. Lying in my bed, I looked up at the ceiling
fan as it moved around and around in the same juxtaposed position it ran every night. Turning my head
to the right, I looked at the clock on the desk. I read twelve. Looking back up, I rubbed the sweat from
the top of my brow "The same dream again Just who are they and what do they have to do with me?
Nah, it couldn't have anything to do with my-"

Just then my I-phone went off. Rising up to grab it, I knew who was calling me from the ringtone
I had given the person. It was my mom. "Hi sweetie, just thought I'd call to see if you were awake yet?"

"I am, just woke up as a matter of fact "

"Well, I'm glad to know that you're spending your spring break well, Justin "

"Thanks By the way, why exactly are you calling? Normally when you call you having something
important to say "

As she started complaining as to how rude I was, I lifted myself off the bed I slept on. It was put
on the highest bar, which I had to jump up onto every night I went to sleep. Holding the phone slightly
away from my ear, I walked into the bathroom to take care of business. Washing my hands afterward, I
felt the phone slipping off of my shoulder. Grabbing it with my wet hands, I set it down for a second.
Picking it back up, I could hear her asking if I had just seen the news.

"No, mom, I haven't Why? Did something happen that I should know about?"

"Why, yes something did happen In fact, it's happened in Savannah at Tybee Island at the beach
there "

Dropping the toothbrush I was holding, the look on my face was of shock. My mother explained
that a child was found on the beach not far from a man who was stabbed to death. The authorities have
taken them both to the Savannah General. Realizing that I can walk there, I quickly got dressed and ran
out the door, making sure to grab my keys and id. Not having to worry about long hair at the moment, I
got on my bike and rode on up to the hospital.

When I arrived I didn't expect there to be a crowd of people waiting for news of the boy and the
dead body. It seemed like a big event to the world and everyone wanted a piece of the story. Moving
through the crowd of vicious reporters I made my way into the back entrance where I casually walked
in. The inside of the building was more organized and controlled than I thought it would be. Seeing one
of the nurses look up at me, she walked over and asked if I was looking for someone. I told her that I
wanted to see the young child and the dead body. The look on her face scared me.

"What? I need to confirm my suspicions as to who they are, that is all "

"Well," the beautiful brunette began to say "The cops are asking anyone that knows who these
two are to bring forth information
nd it seems to me that you know something "

"Wait, are you suspecting me of killing the person in the morgue? Because, if you are-"

"Excuse me, is there a problem?" said a tall built man, he was bald and wore normal clothes,
with the exception of the gun belt wrapped around his waist, a Colt .45 Magnum clearly showing off.
Looking into his green eyes, you could tell this was a man of sincere work the type of man who will get
anything done the right way.

"No problem at all, officer I was just explaining to the woman that I would like to see the dead
body and child that you found on the beach "

"Why should I let you do that?" he said leaning into my face, his green eyes breaking my
concentration.

"Because, I had a dream that explains how they ended up that way," I said "They are brothers
after all "

The officer looked at me stunned "How do you know that they are related to each other? No
one else, but the staff of this hospital and myself know this "

"Because," I said, "I had a dream "

"Follow me, please " He said pointing the way

s we walked down the hallway, I couldn't help but think that I was in for something even bigger
than what I could possibly imagine. We walked all the way to the other side of the hospital to a room
where two guards were posted outside many doors that were set as checkpoints.

"No one is allowed in or out, a precautionary step we must take to protect the identity of the
boy and his older brother "

Continuing past the first check point, we continued down another hall, turned left and arriving
at another check point. Showing his i.d. the officer explained to each guard that I carried valuable
information on the people in the room. Nodding, they let us past. This would happen two more times, a
total of four checkpoints in all.

We finally arrived at the room, it was away from any windows and no one could possibly get
passed the guards at the checkpoint "We brought them here to keep them from being seen by the
sharks outside. So far we have had no problem, however, the child keeps asking for a man named Inxs.
We aren't sure if that is his brother or not "

Inxs, I thought. That name sounds familiar. We stopped at the window. The small child was
cradling in his hands a necklace that belonged to his brother. The medallion had been in their family for
generations, always given to the first born unless the first born passed on. The boy finally looked up
since my presence in the room. His eyes locked on mine and he could see shock. It was like he had seen
a ghost in my face.

"Officer Farrar," spoke another officer, "you and your guest have been asked to be present in
the autopsy room "

"We'll be right there " Turning to me, Farrar gave me an unsure look
s I looked into his eyes, I
could tell he was nervous about something. Before I left, I looked back at the child who was already
beginning to stand. Walking away from the mirror I left with Farrar.

Having been unconscious when found on the wet sand of the beach, the boy had been picked up
by strong arms and carried to a helicopter. Eyes all disoriented, he saw bits and pieces of his
surroundings. Looking around, he saw the body of his dead brother and several men lifting the body in
to a bag. Zipping it up, they carried it over to the same chopper he was on. He was laid on a stretcher
and an IV was put into his arm. The pain and rush of fluids inside his body caused him to blackout again.

When he had come to, he was lying on the floor of a hospital room. He felt the cold surface of
the floor against his cheek. Eyes blurred by the white light, he began to look around at his surroundings.
Seeing a glass window and a cot on the floor next to him, the child sat up and looked around the rest of
the room. It was empty with the exception of said two previous items. Where am I? He thought. How
did I get here? Remembering the fight on the beach, he became frantic and concerned for his brothers
body.

"Where have you taken my brother? What have you done with him?! Where is the man Inxs?"
Trying to stand, the child fell. He began to cry, hearing a door open he looked up into the face of
beautiful woman. Her bright white hair seemed to glow as if she was an angel. Looking up at her, the
child felt warmth inside his soul, she was motherly to him and could comfort him until Inxs showed up.

"This was removed from your brother's body " She had handed him his necklace It was the
family crest which was made up of a key with an inscription in the handle. His family had been chosen to
wield the keyblade and use its powers for good. They were the last of brethren court that vowed to
protect all the worlds from the darkness that tried to consume it. However, one of the brothers used his
power for evil and was lost to the darkness. Their father felt betrayed and made sure that his other two
sons would never let darkness trick them into losing the sight of the light. He gave his life defending

them from the same hooded man that took their eldest brother. However, just before the hooded man
struck down the last two sons, the blinding power of the light appeared and took the young child and
infant to the Wizard Yensid who took them under his wing and trained them in the art of The Light.

"What's your name?"

Looking up, the child stared at the woman who had handed him his brother's necklace He just
stared at her a few more seconds and then looked back down at the necklace. The nurse looked up and
stood up "I must go; I'll bring you something to eat " She walked through the sliding doors and down
the hall. Looking back down at the necklace he wondered what would happen next.

At the exact moment the nurse left, two tall men walked into the area where the child was
being held. As he held the necklace, he felt a strong and yet familiar power in the room with him.
Looking up, he stared into the two men who stood beyond the frame of the window. One was dressed in
an officer's uniform while the other was wearing normal clothing, with short cropped hair combed to
the side and glasses over hazel eyes. It was the face under the frames of the glasses that caught the
child's attention. I know this face. He looked back down at the necklace and then back up to see him
gone.

Inxs, I know that is you.
