Masayoshi opened the sliding door to the driver’s compartment and latched it closed, sealing off him and the driver from the others. He sat shotgun and stared at the road, a stupid smile on his face, then he turned to Connor, the current driver, and his mouth opened in shock, “Connor! What the blast are you doing!?”

Connor’s eyes were wide, really wide, like tea saucer wide, his pupils were tiny, tiny tiny tiny… he was looking straight ahead, swerving here and there on the face of the mountain. “YO! MASA! HOW’S EVERYONE DOING IN THE BACK!?”

Masayoshi clutched his ears and grimaced, “Why are you so loud!? And you’re talking really blooming fast!”

Connor threw something at Masayoshi’s panicking face, “I BOUGHT SOME OF THOSE AT OUR LAST STOP!”

Masayoshi, his panic driven fear causing him to fumble with the small bottle, then looked at Connor again, “W-what are these?!”

“THEY’RE MEDS TO KEEP YOU FROM FALLING ASLEEP! IT”S A BIT OF A WAYS FROM OUR NEXT DESTINATION SO I HAD SOME! THE CLERK GIRL SAID ONLY TAKE ONE PER NIGHT, BUT I TOOK THEM ALL! I FEEL GREAT! WE’LL BE AT THE SPA IN NO TIME!”

Masayoshi winced as his ears possibly began to bleed,“Connor! Settle down! We’re on a little road carved into the mountain! One wrong move and we’re…”
Connor quickly turned the wheel so fiercely Masayoshi feared he may have destroyed it, “I GUESS THAT WOULD BE PRETTY EXCITING HUH?! I BET THAT”D BE PRETTY FUN! LET’S GO FOR IT!”

And thus the large bus careened off the mountain road and fell straight down, momentum building as gravity worked its magic. Masayoshi gawked as the forest below them was rapidly approaching. Masayoshi quickly tore through his clothes for his book; he looked at Connor’s manic face.

Connor was smiling broadly, “THIS IS PRETTY FUN! LOOK AT THE GROUND! IT’S COMING UP PRETTY FAST HUH? SURE WISH SUNSHINE COULD SEE IT!” thus saying this he let go of the wheel and made a grab to open the sound-proof door.

Masayoshi pulled his book out of his inner pocket and flipped through the pages, absent-mindedly throwing a tag on the door. Connor touched the door and a shock coursed through his body, flushing the effects of the medicine out of his body. Connor slumped on the ground, unconscious. Masayoshi licked his finger and rapidly went through the book, then with a victorious smile on his face, he jabbed his index finger in the center of the page, a green magic circle enveloped the entire bus and it slowed down to a inching crawl. He then flipped through a few more pages and ripped it off cleanly, he stuck it on the windshield and the bus went in reverse, flying up the mountain and stopping as it landed back on the road. Masayoshi grabbed his chest and exhaled slowly.

Negi woke up and stretched, his eyesight was fuzzy, with one hand he searched around for his glasses, he felt… warm blankets… a pillow… and then… Negi poked the odd object, “What’s this? It’s soft and… it’s…”

“It’s me Negi-kun…” Konoka put Negi’s glasses on, he found out what he was er… groping.

Negi dropped down to his knees and bowed his head in shame, ‘I-I’m so sorry Konoka-san! I-I didn’t think that I accidentally crawled into someone’s bunk! I’m so so so sorry! I never meant this to happen! Never would a teacher do something so…”

Konoka laughed and waved her hand, “Don’t worry about it Negi-kun… I promise I won’t tell anyone OK?”

Negi took a shuddering breath and peered outside, it was just dawn, and the large bus was still moving. Negi sighed and silently went to the front of the bud, followed by an equally silent Konoka. Negi slid open the door and walked in, amazed, Connor was in the corner to the right of the door, wrapped up in a dark blanket and sleeping with a pleasant smile on his face. Masayoshi was driving smoothly through the mountainous regions like he’s done road trips his entire life, his eyes were half closed and he was muttering under his breath.

Konoka quickly sat down in the shotgun seat and tilted her head at Masayoshi, “Hi Masa-kun… were you driving all night?”

Masayoshi turned his head and smiled, tilting his head in turn, “Of course, Connor can’t stay up all night now can he?”

Negi smiled as he looked at the two, that’s interesting, their smiles are identical… “Hey Masayoshi…”

Masayoshi turned all the way around, his hands leaving the wheel, “Yeah Negi-boya?”

Konoka quickly grabbed the wheel, but Masayoshi grabbed her hand, “Relax Konoka-chan, I set it to go straight, we’re following a track straight to the place Connor planned for us.”

Konoka blushed a little and put her hands on her lap, smiling. Negi, slightly panic-stricken turned to Masayoshi, “Do you know where we’re going?” he looked at the large map folded up on Masayoshi’s lap. Masayoshi grabbed the map and opened it slightly, “It’s a… spa.” He struggled a bit on the last word, as though trying to pronounce it correctly.

Konoka perked up, “A spa? Like the ones in the really famous hotels?”

Masayoshi smiled and took the wheel again, “Yep, I guess so, we’ll be there in two hours. It’s actually on one of these mountains, a very interesting circumstance.”

Negi walked up between the two, looking at Masayoshi inquiringly, “What’s that mean?”

Masayoshi shrugged, but then addressed a question to Konoka, “Hey, do you believe in ghosts?”

Konoka looked at Masayoshi, a little confused, and then smiled, “Sure, I believe in ghosts. After all Sayo-chan is a ghost.”

Masayoshi laughed, “Of course, what a foolish question for me to ask.”

Konoka looked around, “Why did you ask?”

Masayoshi shrugged with an offhand smile, “Oh no reason… it’s just the mountain we’re going to is famous for its yurei and hitodama.”

Negi laughed, “You mean you?”

Masayoshi frowned, “No not me, I mean those ghastly creatures of the night, you know, dripping fangs, horrid shrieks, taking innocent children from the nearby village and swallowing them whole!”

Negi paled, Konoka stared in wonder.

-

Ku Fei ripped off a piece of bagel with her mouth and noisily ate it, Ayaka came over and smacked her on the back of her head, “Please be quiet Ku Fei-san! You’re going to wake everyone up!”

Ku Fei pouted and made a grab for a rice ball on the tray positioned in between the isles. Ayaka slapped her hand. Asuna recoiled in anger then she walked towards the front. “Hmph… Shotocon girl…” She opened the sound-proof door to the driver’s compartment and exhaled sharply.

Konoka was holding Negi, both shaking in fear in the passenger seat, in front of the bus, in full view was a pale boy, with sunken eyes wearing rugged clothes that appeared to have went to the gates of hell and back.

Masayoshi rolled down his window and rested his elbow on the frame, “Yo. Could you point us to the… Spa?” I’m sure it’s around here but…” he laughed a little embarrassed laugh. The ghost boy slowly walked up to Masayoshi’s window, when he was close enough for Ku Fei to be able to see the whites of his eyes, he simply pointed in the direction they were going, and disappeared into the woods.

Masayoshi smiled warmly and rolled his window back up, “Nice folk around here huh? Good thing we got directions, don’t want to get lost in here.” As he drove along the road he hit something and the entire bus shook from impact of the bumpy road.
Ku Fei lost her footing and landed on Connor’s comatose body, her arms around his neck, sitting on his lap. She turned a bit red, but didn’t budge from the spot.

Masayoshi’s was tossed about, and with a final, rather violent bump, his head smacked into the adjacent window and he slumped in his seat, his body unable to take anymore strain.

Negi and Konoka stared at each other and began to scream as Masayoshi’s body simply stopped moving, his foot pressing the gas to the floorboard. The bus was picking up mad speed as Negi and Konoka scrambled everywhere to find a way out of this sticky situation, Negi tried to lift up Masayoshi’s body, but to no avail, Konoka tried to open the door, but even with her adrenaline bursting to the max, the door did not open.

With another great bump, Negi’s feet lifted off the ground, and with it Masayoshi’s book, which somehow Negi wrapped his fingers around the spine. With a noisy thud, his bottom hit the floor, and the book opened up, Masayoshi’s hand fell limply off the arm of the driver’s chair and unconsciously touched the blank page. In an instant the page lit up and the bus hit sunlight.

The bus doors opened, and the Mahora girls filed out, followed by exuberant cheers and cries of joy. Negi and Konoka dived out of the driver’s section, and met only with pleasant tuffs of grass and a lovely sea breeze cooling their faces.

Connor, awoken from the cries, carried a joyous Ku Fei on his back. He peered out from the door with a look of utmost surprise. His jaw dropped as a resort in the distance sent envoys to see what the matter was. The girls jumped out of the back of the bus wearing swimwear and such, carrying floaters, sun umbrellas, sunscreen, shades, and anything else a girl needs on a beach. Connor turned back to the driver’s seat, where Masayoshi grumbled in his sleep as his book lay open on the floor.

Negi looked at the map Masayoshi was using, the place they were heading for was dead center in a forested mountain range, that’s not right… there wasn’t a town anywhere nearby. However, about forty miles east from there was a large seaside resort. Negi squinted at the place they were heading to, it doesn’t say spa! It says S.P.A, Supernatural Park Area! Negi smacked his forehead as he finally realized Masayoshi misunderstood the meaning of “spa”.

Konoka giggled as, she too, came up with the same conclusion, “Well it was fun getting here right?”

Connor immediately grabbed Masayoshi’s collar and violently shook him, ‘What the hell were you thinking!? Taking us into that sort of place! I ought to kill you right here right now!”
Masayoshi held his hands up, his eyes rolling in his head, “I didn’t mean to Connor… last thing I heard you say was spa so…”

He couldn’t finish his sentence as the older boy shook him harder. “I meant spa and resort! Why in the world would you think I wanted to go to a Supernatural park!? You’re insane!”

Negi sighed as the girls splashed about in the water, “At least we got to the right place in the end…” he ignored the two quarreling teens as he changed to his swimming trunks and joined the girls in the water.

This concludes my chapter! I actually am not pleased with this one, I do however enjoy Connor’s few lines, just makes my day a bit better… I promise for True Serac’s sake, as well as the reader, that my next one will be better! Much much better!
