Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Karasu's Song ❯ Karasu's Song ( Chapter 1 )

[ A - All Readers ]

The eagle looked down on the river below
And he wrapped his wings round him and he fell like a stone
And the big salmon fought but the talons held true
And he shuddered as the world turned from silver to blue
I stood there in awe though I'd seen it before
I was born in this desert and I'll die here for sure
I've traveled around I've seen city lights
But nothin' that shined like the big sky at night
Sitting on the ridge overlooking the ruins of the once great city of kokushibyoutoshi Karasu felt a great pain in her chest for most of her childhood she had lived here the daughter of the Ranshikage back then she had been Okichi she had been the most powerful of the villages assassins which was a true honor indeed because kokushibyoutoshi was famous for its assasins but then she had been sent to Konoha on a mission and she had taken her first step on a path that would lead to the fall of the once great city…

Some mornings will find me up above the timberline
Lonesome don't seem like much once you're this high
When it's all said and done I usually find
Me and the eagle are of the same mind
Now when I was young I took me a husband
But he never took to the high country life
So now I'm alone I don't really mind
But his name echoes down from the canyon sometimes
Maybe it was her imagination but she could often hear the name of her koishii in the song of the wind. Sometimes when she slept she felt his arms around her holding her as he had in the past before the destruction, the destruction she had caused because of the threat to him and to her unborn child often she wished that the dreams and the sand delusions would kill her so that she might at long last have peace…
Some mornings will find me up above the timberline
Lonesome don't seem like much once you're this high
When it's all said and done I usually find
Me and the eagle are of the same mind
In my dreams there's a horse, he stands eighteen hands high
He's as white as the snow and there's fire in his eyes
And he'll bare only me though others have tried
And together we'll travel up across the divide
Rin her beautiful daughter truly did live up to her name she was the companion that had given Karasu something to live for when there was nothing left for her but the cool embrace of death to end the raging fever that was her anger and the desert wind. Every time she felt like dying she would look at her daughter. Rin had hair that was more silver than blonde as well as red eyes that seemed to always be able to sense when her mother was close to death and the gaze the she gave Karasu was one like a foal who can sense that the wolves that will eventually tear her apart. Know matter how far Karasu ran with her daughter she would be in danger for the mark of the Hiryuu clan was on her and what would be even more dangerous she bore the markings of the Konoha clan that already had 2 shinobi of Sanin rank the clan of the shiroshikon and the Rasengan she bore the markings of the Hatake clan

Maybe someday she can find peace but until that time her life would belong to Rin and not to her lover not the man that she wished to spend the rest of her life with that was what fate had decreed but in her heart she knew that they would meet again when Rin was old enough to not need her mother and would not keep her from the cool arms of death but until that day she would walk her path a broken woman with no reason to live and nothing to love but the small child at her side and the memories that she held close to her heart.
