Original Poetry Fan Fiction ❯ My poetry ❯ Contrite Sinner ( Chapter 3 )

Contrite Sinner:

Shielded dreams,
Wary of everything,
Eyes that see, but don't look,
This hatred I carry for myself,
Cloud all sensible thoughts.

The feeling of being alone,
Ingrained within, unable to relieve.
These bitter and tenacious winds-
concealed within the shadows,
Of a bright and warmth-filled day-
Still remain,
Pecking, deep inside,
Making a mockery of my contriteness.

A listless, and faint heart,
Still beating in its languor,
Caught up in my own sphere of thoughts-
A cacophony of voices,
Shattering all possible beliefs-
A sinner behind the lies,
Haunting me still.

Your death,
Toppled my already unstable existence,
The dawn of light,
Eludes my grasp,
Reality- I choose to ignore,
Wanting to block out,
The unadulterated pain of living without you.

My own myriad sins,
Reach out for me-
Its cold-tipped claws ready to scar.
Leaving behind a desolate, and hope-ridden world,
My disbelief at the plain truth,
Lingering long after
all emotions have ceased to exist.
