I read your heart
in every line, every rhyme and verse
You open the windows of your soul to the masses
but you write to you first
To every race, age, creed, and persuasion, your works touch
They sting for their reality
They touch live for their sheer honest
Made me want to know the person behind the words
Not, that's not cliché and far from absurd
The you I admire is the person you let us see
No amount of prose or metaphor can hide the life you write so effortlessly
More than “I get this guy”, it became “I want to know him”
Moreso than reading between the line and relating within
The fact that you felt me, too, in a word, it awed
So pleased I was that my words pleased you—even those I viewed as off or flawed

And the fates decreed that we connect with each other
Okay, that line was just cheesy, Jeff—we simply dig each one another
And, in a very little space of time, you became my literary brother
And in more words than you show to all, you relate to me your every way
And I found in you the courage blatantly and openly portray
all the words I held to my heart
that mean so much to others because experiences, shared in whole or in part
open eyes and make the senses sigh
make the feelings trapped and oft-denied
burst forth in living color as they read their life's hidden joys and pains
stretched out in mere text, words pull at their reins
and make them stop, pull up their chair and reread
and through words flowed from the heart, theirs unwind and accede
and just, for the length of their reading, fractionally breathe

As I read you heart, JFK
I'm learning to release mine more in all the works I display
Somethims life-changing events arent' acknowledged in any way
But I wanted to say thanks for opening you world to me
And inviting me to stay
