Chapter 11: Moving Forward

We were walking, and, since Liz's house was so freaking huge, it took us about five minutes to get there. I was feeling bold and slightly giddy, so I asked him "Why did you pick the making out thing? Was it because you don't want to run around the house in your boxers, or because you secretly like me and want to kiss me?"

"A little of both," he admitted, "but mostly the second one."

"Oh, so you do like me," I said teasingly.

"Well, yeah. Who wouldn't?" he teased back. I smirked and, instead of replying, chose to enter the room and climb on the bed. He sat next to me with a genuine smile instead of one of his usual smirks. Then he leaned closer, slowly, and I could feel his breath tickling my cheek. I opened my eyes -- when had I closed them? -- and looked into his. He just smiled again and gently touched my cheek, and then Josh kissed me.

I kissed him back, and then I was on my back. He was above me, and I was pulling him closer. It was too slow, yet too fast, and wonderful and terrifying all at once. He moaned into the kiss, or maybe it was me. I couldn't tell since everything was hazy.

---

All too soon, he pulled away slowly. I looked up at him, breathing heavily, wondering why the hell he pulled away, but then it clicked when he glanced at the clock.

"That couldn't have been ten minutes," I pouted.

"It was more like twenty," he replied, grinning.

I couldn't help but smile along, and soon we walking back to the basement, talking about nothing in particular on the way.

---

"Holy sh-" Josh put his hand over my mouth before I could finish, but then after staring a few more seconds, he shook his head and finished my exclamation for me, both of us smiling like idiots.

Chad and Liz tried to untangle themselves from each other, but they ended up falling off the couch. They were both flushed and breathing heavily, having just finished a make-out session of their own.

After a bit of laughing, Liz decided it was time to get some sleep. She said goodnight to the boys, but then Chad decided to "escort" her up to the room she and I would be sleeping in.

Once again, Josh and I were alone together. I decided to sit down on the couch, and he sat beside me.

"I've been thinking," he said, "maybe we could go out together." He blushed a little and smiled at me. I smiled back, but mentally, I was jumping around like an idiot, waving pom-poms in the air and thowing confetti.

"Sure."

I gave him a little kiss on the cheek and started pulling away, but then he held my arm and kissed me on the lips.

"Goodnight," he said.

Reviews, constructive criticism, and flames are welcome!

Lots of kissing. Yay!

I couldn't help but laugh when I noticed the "alone together." Oxymorons are silly... tehehe.

Right then, I'll be sure to bash my head on something hard. Damn caffiene.

Next time: The Date.
